People who know will pay the asking price people that don’t will try it or try to knock your confidence to lower your price, stick to what you think it’s worth not what others are willing to pay, I know only to well as I’ve built thousands of e-bikes and dirt bikes it comes with the business. Hi Steve, I’ve just finished watching this video and I wanted to let you know that your efforts are really appreciated by the people who do properly understand really life costs and values, not to mention your own real life experiences (which you tend to freely throw into your builds for next to nothing). Steve as you know the haters will always throw out hateful comments or emojis, basically they do this, I believe because they’re scared to actually have a proper go at anything themselves, truly believing that they would fail miserably if they ever did have a crack at something which is new to them. Anyway please keep doing more of what you’ve been doing as it’s enjoyed and appreciated by many people who do actually know the difference between a spanner and a waist of time hurtful comment or emoji 😊
It is really sad and frustrating, and frankly means many of us do less work (creatives) because the haters and sheep have taken over the world.

Who can moan about ebike prices that are custom built and takes time and effort to assemble and market. The cost of cars and petrol are insane. Paying good money for a good bike is a good investment

I was harassed, threatened given all sorts of [some quite shocking] abuse the other day on Reddit. Why? A light-hearted review of a £4 piece of sushi.
You're totally right, these people must be so miserable and bitter having to attack folks online to feel they're heard, validated etc. I think often they're unemployed, have been on benefits for a long time and are bored, depressed & feeling worthless (their post history often gives this away). I'm pretty thick skinned so it bounced off and I just disengaged, but it was an alarmingly unhinged rant, a lot of projection in there I guess, drawing all sorts of concussions about my political beliefs, my 'exploitation of working people' , and how I'm a source for misery and suffering in the world.
Just thankful that 99% of these keyboard warriors are complete cowards so they won't act out their unfocused rage in society, face to face.

Trolling has a been a thing since public forums became a thing on the internet. And those trolling succeed when they get a reaction... An angry or upset reaction more specifically. I know it's easier said than done, But the trick is to see it for what it is and don't react at all... Or just react in a smart way to counter, But drop the mic straight after. A good troll will get right under your skin and continue to, Could be any manner of horrible things that yes in real life you would probably kill that person lol, But it's all an act in a public domain while keeping totally anonymous and untouchable.. Well, As long as they don't behave in way where it could turn criminal and be under investigating by authorities that is. It is sad though that people have actually committed suicide over this shit, It's amazing how powerful words can be even on a computer screen from randoms. I've dealt with trolls like we all have in all my years online, But I just don't give a damn! And that's that.

I love all ur vids they have taught me so much at the age of 17 , I have a huge workshop where i work on all my rc trucks but starting to love bikes more. I'm thinking of starting of selling and converting ebikes , I hate it when people try talking absolute sh•t for no reason when I'm only 17 trying to make some cash 😂 people don't realise how much time we put into these and that we need to make ends meet to be able to do what we love ,

I got an Andy Kirby kit over two years ago and used it nearly everyday doing deliveries and never had any issues. The battery is spot on and still lasts me 6-7 hours on low power. I would recommend his kit and would never buy from unknown source. I'll be defo buying another battery from Andy.

Well said Steve. I totally agree with you and have been trying to get the same point across for years! When people ask me how much I paid for my bike, I tell them and then state that it's really down to what your budget is and if you're willing to pay for quality. My Kirbebike kit, bike, cost of someone to put it together, upgrades and accessories has probably set me back about £2200 with more spent on upgrades which are on the way and I don't regret a thing!

I loved your 250w builds so much I built one, got a £1300 Boardman bike ( paid £230 off Facebook buy & sell, very light, and it is amazing, 48v battery UPP, 60v 30a brainpower controller with LCD, and wow flys uphill and 30 mph+ on flats, amazing suspension front and rear, Hydraulic disk brakes. it is so lightweight with a battery in a special backpack, £800 in total but i could not buy an Ebike this good ( All thanks to your videos) so thankyou and keep up the good work 🚲👌
Well said, in essence you pay a small mark up and get quick delivery, guaranteed quality and the support and back up you expect from a vendor. If you want to save 25% and maybe get the same product or maybe get worse, take the risk. Essentially Andy has sourced reliable products and holds local stock. Anyone who has been bitterly disappointed with what turns up after 28day wait knows the better choice (and let's not even start about customs charges getting added and wiping out your savings)

I’ve sold a lot of stuff and by far Ebike and scooter people are some of the worst to try and sell shit to. It’s a rough business, bike people are kind of fussy already about their equipment and want the best of everything. Tell them they can have a better bike for less and many just won’t believe it. The masses rather buy an overweight Ebike online so they can feel safe rather than buy a hand crafted Ebike.

Well said. If someone's buying a cheap kit for 400 , there's a reason why it's that cheap, because it will be garbage. You get what you pay for. Alot of time effot and care goes into putting these ebikes together to a high standard and frankly safely. Steve even sometimes gets his top off when building them ha..🙌
Minimal 350 for a battery and 200 for the motor etc and that's the cheap thumb throttle ones lol. I've had two they been fine but it's luck

Got a cheap kit just for the hub motor, its basically impossible to get a decent hub cheaply without buying a kit sadly
Yeah sure you can buy MXUS motors etc but these are just too expensive in my opinion

Everyone's an expert on the internet, though I have sourced my parts myself (yet to build) I have learnt a lot watching the likes of yours and Andy's vids. He is running a business so it is what it is sure I've saved some money and I'm one of those that will sit for hours before pulling the trigger, actually been planning to build one for a few years and just took delivery of the battery and kit the other day, still a couple bits to buy. The vids you make are entertaining.
It's as always, people buy good and bad stuff. Some buy always good, some always bad, some first bad then good. People find good and bad sellers. Some people buy e-bikes with weak performances for 8000 and up.
For example an e-bike for 600 can't be good. Calculate at least 200 to 300 to build it, and good battery cells have their price too.
Your channel and content are great! You are nice, friendly, honest and authentic. People from around the globe are watching you. Some of them would buy e-bikes from you if shipping wouldn't be a problem.

We’re blessed to have an option to shop online. From other countries. I just started watching a few of your videos. I like your stuff. keep doing what you’re doing. you’re not gonna please everyone. You’re making great quality videos. The ones who are complaining don’t have any idea how much time it takes to make or edit a video. Unfortunately the world is full of haters. Here in the states we have Disney World. it’s a place to make people happy. You always gonna find those who will walk away from there unhappy and always be complaining about something. There’s always some keyboard warriors out there that whatever you buy they will apparently “know” where they could have got it cheaper, better quality, quicker delivery times etc. in fact if you bought an elephant they’d have the box it came in. None of them will be able to actually back up their claims, the best way to treat them is ignore them.
I watched you do an e bike. That gave me to do mine. What a great vid. I looked into first front hub mid and rear. Just keep the good work up. Maybe they should go and grow vegetables. But I guess it's hard work. They can't handle handles only buttons.
Building an e bike with parts from you guys is the best chance saving up now for parts... when it's built, I'll be able to get about on it without getting out of breath... just like when I was a kid, lol.. anyway, good job mate keep it up. I've built 2 E Bikes using external bolt on Motors !!!! It involved a lot of welding, cutting metal and using a ten ton press !!! Also I used a couple of old Mountain Bikes which I had to rebuild !!! I would not recommend building an E Bike. I have used loads of electrical equipment to wire them up !!!! I have panniers and a basket on the front !!!! All I wanted was something that I can use for shopping !!!! I bought everything from Amazon !!!! Also I know if I have a Fat Tyre Flashy E Bike it will get stolen straight away !!!! I don't care about speed as I have 3 Motorbikes !!!! You're right about not much money in building E Bike kits !!!! Where I live I very rarely see any E Bikes at all !!!! As for People's opinions I agree with Albert Einstein !!! He said, There are 2 things in this World that are Infinite. The Universe and People's Stupidity, and I'm not too Sure about the Universe !!!!

I love your projects and you are inspiring me to have a go at doing a bike myself this year as (and yes you had it spot on) with the Halfords Carrera e-spec 😅 lasted 550 miles and the motor burned out 🤷♂️ was only my work runner and was nice to feel a bit of power but now I'm hungry for more speed 😁

Fair play matey it cost me to build a 27.5" apollo 1500w ebike without decent brakes etc and that was £1000.

I would say 90% of comments on sale posts on face book are from people that actually have no intention of buying but rather leaving comments and opinions smh. It's like walking into a restaurant asking for the menu, sitting down only to spend the rest of your time commenting on what you think about the food on the menu.
Andy Kirby does not sell 2000watt kits, they are 1500watts which max out at 2000watts. I know because I've spoken to Jason many times who Kirby gets his kits off of. Now solos bike sells 1500watts and 2000watts and they in the UK no waiting for it to come from China and the controller's are a lot better than Kirby's.. Just saying though and stating the facts so don't get the hump or block me 👍
Great video. Totally true if people think they can get something cheaper go ahead, buy it and take the risks. Don't waste time commenting on what you are offering for sale. Everything you buy from online or at a shop they are making a profit on the item otherwise what's the point.
Ever thought of repairing or building batteries? I've made so many now. Repairs are usually quite easy too.
Converted an old 2004 GT chunky aluminium frame. Spent longer searching and researching parts then building. Wheels, brakes, battery, tyres, all adds up. But you get what you pay for. Mine totalled over £1200!
