  • Lymphatic drainage, or lymphatic massage, of the face and head and neck is an important part of reducing swelling and lymphedema. Head, Neck and Face lymphatic massage is an essential piece of management and reduction of swelling and improving lymphatic flow, and reduce pain and aching. Follow along for a FULL manual lymphatic drainage (lymphatic drainage massage) routine for head, neck, and the face. I describe the techniques and sequence used by a certified lymphedema therapist.
    I used a second view to see another angle of the lymphatic drainage technique and sequencing.

    I started having painful swelling on the side of my neck below my ear. I was diagnosed with Lymphadenitis. The med I was prescribed helped the pain and swelling but the lump is still there. Thanks for your neck massage techniques. I feel they are helping. There are other videos on lymph drainage out there but I feel yours are the best.

    My sister had lymphedema. They took out some of her lymph nodes and part of her chest bones during a breast cancer surgery. This was back in the early 2000's. She passed away in 2009, after an excruciating case of severe lymphedema, which was only exasperated with pain medication.
    Thank you for this video. I'm not feeling well today, and this did help.

    • @MossyMozart
      @MossyMozart ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Box Tail Gilly - I cannot adequately express how sorry I am with what your sister went through. Sometimes they just don't fully prepare you for what you will have to endure. I am hoping that you felt well again quickly and that the cause wasn't a severe medical condition of your own. All my best.

    Thank you for the video! I've had a swollen lump in the right side of my neck by my hair line and I've been put on antibiotics and just had a CT scan done. The ENT thinks it's a lymph node but doesn't want to do anything with it. But over the past year I've been having issues on the right side of my body. To include hearing, eyes, and really bad panic attacks. I was put on prozac almost 9 months ago and I had night sweats which I was told could happen with prozac. My doctor doesn't seem concerned but my dad passed away from throat cancer. 😢 Any thoughts? Please 🙏

      @@luckykiwiii ok . Did it for 3 months daily with other of her videos. Got rid of my left leg pain ( at night in bed when leg bothered me, was not very painful but very botherrsone). Also did lots of face and neck drainage ... well no more brain fog and believe it or not no more reading glasses. In my opinion, I just think I did a great drainage and most likely "cleaned" some patway or something that overall helped my head in some way. I don't mind trying things that don't require prescriptions or tons of money to do or have to travel far that seems good for my health! I'm 64 and no pains, no prescription, totally mobile, alert, and believe lymphatic drainage did a big overall change for the better as explained above. The teacher is fantastic !

    I have just seen a Lymphologist this week due to having Lymphoedema from radiation. She said the gentle method on the neck is out of date. It needs to be very firm to move the fluid. What are your thoughts on this? I have been using your method for a few months as I was unable to see the Lymphologist until now. I don't know whose method to use.

    1. I suppose lymph nodes in that area of the neck are not working as they should. Will the taping of face still be effective since fluid have to pass by that affected active ca site.

      @S L - My guess is that if your hands are coordinated enough, you can do both sides simultaneously. When I was taught manual lymphatic drainage, I was told by the therapist that I could do both sides simultaneously. She suggested that I cross my arms - use my right hand on my left face & neck and my left hand on my right. It helped with my coordination. Just remember to keep a very light touch.
