The cardboard cylinder that comes with your thermostat is your tool to depress the spring to remove your old one and to install your new one. Its a lot easier than using pliers. Does anybody ever wonder what the cardboard cylinder is for??
It doesn't have a rubber seal gasket like i explained, just make sure you peel off sticker paper on the gasket that Sits on the block and thermostat housing ! Hope it helps !
