Thank you and see you on the next video!
These are great compilations. Great work. Be cool to see one on Dax's To be a man - Original version.
@@exphion thank you, I appreciate it. as for Dax, I just featured him in one and try to space them out. so, I’ll put it on the list, but it won’t be right away.
I'm 62 now and I've listened to metal as far back as I can remember. From the time I first heard this song I've felt it to be the BEST metal song ever.
Rock on 💪
Mike Tyson has a quote “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”. With or without the cover shin on Vulgar Display of Power, Pantera is like the musical epitome of that statement.
Agree!
And Pantera smacked a bunch of motherfuckers in the mouth!!🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Especially if you walk into one of their shows for the very first time. I saw them in a TEXAS club that was just like this. Intense is an understatement. 😆Ha Ha!
Hands down the best small show I’ve ever seen!
Well said.
Producer Terry Date interview, he says, the mission statement from the guys was...this album has to be heavier than "Vulgar...." , it came up again & again. He says, as he smiles and lets out a little chuckle, how are we gonna do that. ?😂😂😂....Question answered, opens at #1 on the billboard charts. Like another guy associated with Pantera said : to think a record that abrasive, and that heavy would open at #1. I know I did my part buying the CD as soon as it was available, had to drive an hour.
I really want to say "thank you" for your work man... Pantera deserves to be kept alive 🖤🖤🖤
thank you, I appreciate the kind words. hoping to have more Pantera in due time.
plus, they are one of my all time favorite bands.
@@shotaholic1 Pantera are one of the best Bands ever ... I'm glad there is a tribute- Tour actually Happening .. but there is No Pantera without the Abott-brothers. Luv ur Work
@@mariusvent3809 🤘🏻😁 I got to see the original line up a couple times in the 90’s. some of the best shows I’d seen. as for the tribute, I was torn at first…but ended up being happy to see their songs (with Phil & Rex) being played and brought back to the live setting. if anyone was to fill in, Zak and Charlie are the right choices.
@@shotaholic1 I agree, it's kind a like Gary Holt stepping in for Jeff Hannemann.... it was the only possible way to make it work, but it's not the same exact feeling .... I saw Slayer in the original line-up twice, and it were the the best 2 shows I ever saw (#3 was Exodus with Rob Dukes)... I saw Slayer once more with Gary and Paul Bostaph, it was very good but nothing near the OG 4 (at least from my pov)
@@mariusvent3809 I will say, Slayer is unfortunately on a very short list of bands I regret never seeing.
Everything that makes them move during that guitar lead is REX! He was critical to their sound. Without him, it wouldn’t have been possible
That baseline during the solo is probably my favorite bit of the while song. Rex held that shit down and it was tasty 🔥
90s baby. The best time to be alive as a teen/early 20s and just breathe in all the epic and unique bands we had. Especially in terms of metal, punk and all the experimentation with metal mixed with rap and funk elements. I did not know what a crazy time it was when it happened, but looking back at it... so glad I grew up listening to bands like Pantera, Rage Against the Machine, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the old (and good) Metallica, fun acts like Ugly Kid Joe and countless amazing bands from the punk genre aswell which would completely turn this post into a novel. Pantera simply owns it all. They are THE band that so many others cite as such an inspiration to them.
Yep, not a single metal band even metallica was on their level in the 90s
90' s.....thé best Times on my f life
There is a reason Pantera absolutely SKYROCKETED to stardom in the 90's. They absolutely fucking CRUSHED IT!!!! Had the pleasure of seeing them a number of times at their peak and they were nothing short of a force of nature. I saw the current Pantera touring with Metallica last Summer and it was a trip hearing those songs live again.
RIP Dimebag and RIP Vinnie Paul.
The only thing better than watching a honest reaction to one of my favorite bands is watching a compilation of reactions to one of my favorite bands.
one of my favorites also, so don’t worry…there will be more Pantera to come.
My favorite metal band of all time
Absolute legends. RIP Brothers Vince and Dime
It's like watching the movie The Fifth Element. Each member is a different element, combined all together. Shows you, no matter what. There music transcends time and space.
This isn’t just good, this isn’t just great, this is just the one and only Pantera!
Pantera had such a raw and powerful sound and dime is a phenomenal guitar player
I saw Pantera this past February and when they played this song, I’m only 16 but it put a smile on my face to hear the heaviest band ever play in tribute of the brothers
@@andrewkinmon8202 that’s awesome! my first concert, I was 16 and saw the original line up on the Vulgar tour. saw them a couple times.
Excellent song choice Shot. Such a brutal song
thank you, it’s personally one of my top 10 favorites.
Sandblasted Skin and Suicide Note Pt2 Super Crunchy
Everyone raves about the solo, of course it's great, but that bass, that bass.... crushes
FUCK.... YES... IT...DOES!!! The groove behind the solo makes the Solo for me
“What the f*** kind of voice is that bro?” 😂😂😂
My favorite thing I've ever seen said about Pantera was "I don't always listen to Pantera, but when I do so do my neighbors." Pantera is best when the volume is maxed.
all that agression they were so good at capturing its a testament such a killer groove thatalbum was chock full of riffs and grooves holy smokes was it ever far beyond driven great title for than record
I was lucky enough to have seen them 8 or 9 times (the real pantera not the "reunited" pantera.) They always had great energy, and dimbag darrel always sounded amazing
3,000 years from now, if u could leave 1 example of REAL mental, I'm leaving PANTERA'S DISCOGRAPHY!!!
This is Pantera's "Highway star", you know.
It is composed in one take on a jam session, practically on a dare, like Deep purple's song, even it's in the same key, G major.
I was 22 in 1994 when this came out. This is my only contribution to this song, I was damn young and it felt sooo good.
This is what a pro Rock band from TEXAS sounds like! They just open up a big can of whoop ass! Dime is ranked in with all the best guitarists, only the very best. He’s on a short list. Eddie Van Halen put one of his best guitars in Dime’s coffin when he died. This band, at their peak, was an unstoppable MACHINE! I’m telling you, those early shows were intense! You knew you’d been to hardcore show after one of their concerts! It was audience participation big time! Ha Ha! 😳🫠
Nothing like a PANTERA show in their home state! TEXAS Proud.
If the UFC was a band, this is what it would sound like! 😆👍
please more Pantera!
Released in 1994, 30 years later and it still gives me chills.
Con mis 50 y aún Pantera una de mis bandas favoritas! Ya leyendas todos ellos
Loving these mashups!! The reaction vids I never knew I needed!
🤘🏻😁
I love his shirt, Crowbar is awesome!
Rex doesn’t get enough. Always bad ass playing. Only one guitar player. Usually playing his bass as the rhythm guitar during the break. Rex was an all state TUBA player!!
Didn’t know about the tuba but, musically it makes perfect sense to me. His fills hold the songs together with a groove the way a tuba linking band horn and drum sections would.
That's Fine Bag Darrell Killin it on guitar. RIP
I just wanted to say thanks for this mash up. It makes me happy for a minute.
you’re welcome. thank you for watching.
Song of my youth😁
I play this song to jump start my car.
As a kid, This shit blew my mind in the back seat of my mom’s Camaro. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
Love the Crowbar shirt Phil is wearing!
Unmatched till today. Pantera represent heavy, power and aggressive metal like no one else did. These band with their particular set of skills becoming ONE by harmonically bringing their expressions of anger together in the best way possible. If it would get any heavier, they would cause another Big Bang.
Bein real is the key. Like Bruce Lee said, express yourself honestly, And obviously the universe will resonate.
No matter which species hear these songs, no matter from which planet or level of intellectual development or evolutionary state they will get the message of rage.
Just another dude named Phil with 2 badass brothers and a monster bassist from TEXAS that’s all. 🙂
I saw them live in concert 7 times on their best tours. It was audio/visual overload! Zero fuck around live. It’s just peel your face off time with your hair on fire! Absolutely Killer live band. I once saw them in a small TEXAS club right when Vulgar was coming out. To this day, hands down, the very best small show I’ve ever seen! And I’ve seen A LOT. Me and my 300 lb friend were holding onto the railing in front of the stage the whole show! We had to hang on tight because of the mosh pit directly behind us was threatening to drag us in. Have you ever been in between a shit hot band and their mosh pit? Hold On Tight! Ha Ha!
On my heavy days at the gym, this is played over and over. Hit my best bench of 455lbs and ur goddamn right Dime & the boys were in my ears. RIP VINNIE, DIME, AND JERRY!!!
Dime had the most beautiful guitar Tone and unique punch Harmonics he was a master of his craft rip ❤
Holy shit this is good so good, wow!!!
thank you, I appreciate it
What hurts my feelings are? There are so many unknown groups and bands that have never been recognized and sound just as good as what you hear now.
This album was my senior year soundtrack.
Can we all appreciate rex brown's fills and riffs, the man is such an underrated bassist! Definitely up there with Les Claypool of primus!
Yeah that's about as hard as you can get bud!🤘
5x Live in Colorado USA🤘 😎. And still touring in 2024.
I remember the exact day this video was released and my friends and me went psycho crazy it was a happy day
Anytime you pick a Pantera song for a compilation it's going to be fire. I'm surprised they aren't making comments on Phil and his voice here.
I have a few Pantera songs on the list that I hope to get to soon.
I was graced with seeing them live 3x.once solo once with white zombie and once with black sabbath.Great shows
second time I saw them was on that White Zombie / Deftones tour in ‘96. that show was unbelievable!!
It's funny how some people are three decades behind but okay, good for them to find it eventually! :D
I'm a sucker for odd time signatures, so I love that the verses are in 7/8!
Rex on the bass. Rex on the bass!
OUTSTANDING!!!!
thank you. glad you enjoyed it. 🤘🏻😁
By FAR AND AWAY, the BEST metal band ever!
When they are at the top of their game, they were unFUCKINGtoucable!
Pantera is still the best Metal band of all time for me.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Phil has one of the greatest ranges in all of metal! And just as much energy as David Lee Roth from van halen
Love it man! Amazing compilation. Subscribed! If you can make one for Mouth for War. That would be fantastic!
thank you very much, I appreciate it.
Mouth For War is an amazing song! I will gladly put that on the list. just might be a few videos before I get back to the Abbott brothers.
I second that!
Thirded?
It's a song you cannot head bob to no matter who you are,,,,, It's required lol
Now Imagine the parents faces after playing that at your high school concert in years where Céline and Whitney were queens. Priceless.
A lot of people don't realize how much Pantera was influenced by old school Texas blues
The guy in the FNM King for a Day shirt knows where its at....🤘
You all need to check out ( 13 steps) by Pantera.
My favorite 🤘
Shotaholic 56 years old and loving this like I love your youtube name. Doin shots of MD 20/20 to ya! Salute brother!🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘💯😎
🍻 cheers my man, thank you so much for the kind words. I mess around and edit these on my phone in my spare time. I’m actually having a drink while editing right now. lol as for the name, it’s an old drinking nickname.
@@shotaholic1 Great fkn nickname! Imma subbing!👍😃
@@love68 lmao well, I truly appreciate it.
They went from 0 to 100 right out the gate.
Still a song well into my 30s that just makes ready to throw down with god himself.
"this is good, this is damn good" we know
🤘🏻😆
The kings of metal rip dime ❤️
🤘
You are all Metalheads but you didnt know hahahahaahah
God I miss them...the agression released at a Pantera show was....we compared wounds laughing the next day
Dimebag.
One of the best metal guitar players ever
Man I miss Dime.
don’t we all? if only we could have him for even one more album…
Too bad Phil had to have ruptured disc in his spine (doctors did not give him options that sounded good at the time), to inspire this song. I ruined my lumbar spine discs. I'm broken sounds about right
When you are broken, breaking shit is all you know. Divine destruction.
Dime Bag
Texas. Fuck yeah
Hardies used the end of the song in a commercial
More mash up vids for Pantera !!!!
in due time. need to spread the love to some others also. I did however do Cemetery Gates a short time ago. you’re welcome to look back for that one and let me know what you think.
#rip Dimebag & Vinnie
🤘👍👍🤘ed
RİP Dimebag Darell 🙏❤️
DIMEBAG RULES!
Seen this Pantera twice in the day. I will NEVER watch Phil on stage again. Dude is a not see. Terrible human being. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Right there right now during this video IS THE VERY reason Why person can't do guitar solos as good as Dimebag Darnell.
1:24 The most metal fuckin voice in the world, sir
No disrespect to any other metal bands but I mean come on 😳🤷🏼♂️Pantera is the tits 🤘🏻🖤🤤
And this isn't even their best, or hardest, song...
Left of centre 90's..... New steele.... Thats how a BAND operates and should operate..... 21st century has no at all skill to the skills of an actual band
