I`ve been a petrol head for many many years now and always looked down on anything with an auto box, but have to say that driving a Golf GTi Mk5 with a DSG gearbox for the first time in 2009 completely changed my outlook...it`s so much better for everyday use than a manual... And let`s face it, how many of us ever actually get to unleash our car at a track where a manual is always the better experience...?
The disappointment that comes with switching from a budget manual to a budget automatic car... that's what makes me vote manual even when I've never tried a paddle shifter
Ok here’s my take: Manual for the cheaper fun cars Auto all day for the performance cars. It’s why I’d never buy the gt3 manual because I care about performance and it’s also why a Miata will always be manual for me
I have recently gotten my license and first car (Renault Twingo phase 2 from 2001 in white, manual transmission of course) and I named it "froggy". I also say it in French out loud.
Thinking of what car I'd be... 2006 Dodge Caravan. Not the best looking thing. Not fast. Has a few problems. But reliable enough to get you where you need to be. Can carry way too many people. And just average enough to blend in, but can stand out from time to time.

2:01 I feel Rory on this one cuz my 2017 mustang has a single clutch 6 speed auto with the paddles and the kick you get between each shift is insane, feels like a horse kicks your back everytime. Definitely not as good as the Lambo single speed but you get the point
I just don't feel in full control driving an auto. A manual with a clutch pedal gives you that extra feeling of control that you just don't get with an auto. Otherwise you might as well be on a PlayStation Coz you're not actually driving IMO.

@@J.I.R.A I swapped 2 of my very young daughters for a SVJ Aventador! Best decision I’ve ever made as I prefer the sound of the exhaust over the sound of their lil voices whilst their nagging and fighting. Do I miss that? What do you think?

I would normally say Manual but completely with Rory on the single clutch robotised manual gearbox in the SVJ.
