Bought a new ‘79 Cutlass Supreme coupe. Great looking car. Kept it 8 years and it had 96,000 miles on it. Still looked great. The only unscheduled repair was the water pump, otherwise it was bulletproof. Great car. Replaced it with an ‘88 Bonneville SSE, another great car which lasted a long time. GM built good cars, but lost their way in the mid ‘90’s. Sad what’s happened to GM. I have 2 Toyotas and a Lexus now.
My Aunt, I guess in her late 40s at the time went into an Oldmobile dealership in 1975 and ordered a Cutlass Supreme loaded to the max. Then she told the salesman that she wanted it painted in GMs Orange color with a White landau roof and white interior. This was an era when you ordered a car and the factory made them for you. The salesman said Lady you really dont want that Orange color and she replied YES I do. . Then she told the salesman I work for Pacific Bell and everyone in my office owns a conservative color car, dark blues , or black, when I come out of work I want to know exactly where my car is. What a great car.
Awesome for your Aunt to tell that salesman EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTED TO PAY FOR. Not what they wanted to sell. Great story.😂 I bet she never misplaced her Oldsmobile.

My Dad started an Oldsmobile dealership the year I was born--1955. He and my oldest brother kept it running until 2004, when my brother started getting ill and my Dad had already passed on. It was a sad day for our family when GM finally stopped producing the Oldsmobile. Thank you for this video!
I gotta say the '78 Dodge Magnum is in close running for best looking car of that era too...that grille and the see through headlight cover...oh man *chef's kiss*
Oldsmobile was one of the most dependable American made automobiles. I had a 1974, 1976, 1977 olds 442 and a 77 cutlass s. Had the 76 for 38 years and it drove for ever with minimal maintenance.
I love the 76 Cutlass. Always a great dependable car. My buddy had a 76 when I was growing up. Unfortunately it was totaled when someone ran a red-light and tboned him.
I still to this day everyday drive an 85 Cutlass supreme my grandmother bought new in 85 she passed in 2004 and ive been driving it every day since has never stranded me! Light brown with a beigh top
These were okay, but the '73-'77 Cutlasses were AWESOME, especially with the TOTALLY AWESOME "350" ROCKET motor! As a NON-G.M. person, I would still say these cars were TRULY AMERICAN CLASSICS!
My parents had a 77 Cutlass Supreme Brougham Coupe, had a '69 350 Olds, true duals, it had 2.41 gears, so it was no drag racer, but a very comfortable cruiser.
I owned a ($60 in '92-BEATEN) '76 Cutlass Supreme 2 door coupe ("350" ROCKET, and a few options) This, TO THIS DAY, RANKS AS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CARS EVER!
My first car I bought in 1986 for $1,500 was a ‘77 Cutlass, dark brown w/beige interior, T-tops, BFG’s, dual exhaust, 350 Rocket motor. Loved cruising in that thing back in the 80’s.
Funny, my first car was in 1987 and it was a '78 Cutlass Brougham, dark brown w/beige landau roof and beige interior. the 350 motor was bad so I pulled a 350 motor out of a '77 Cutlass which was just bought and it had only 950 miles on it before the car got totaled for $500 and man, that motor had POWER. It beat my friend's souped up '72 Buick Skylark with a Buick 350 four-barrel carburetor, quadruple exhaust and sport rims.
@@subwayfantx1608 My Cousin has a 79 Olds Cutlass. Brown w/ Beige Landau Top. Beige interior. Brougham. I had a 79 White Cutlass with the Baby Blue interior. Beautiful Cars. There's always regrets when you Sell them.
My wife and I had a new 1976 maroon with white vinyl top Cutlass Supreme coupe. It was my first automatic transmission car and first V/8. It was beautiful and did everything well except for keeping the interior warm during winter in Quebec province. A 1969 Cutlass Supreme Cruiser followed. That car was the best one we ever owned. By this time the heater worked properly.
I had a 77, triple white. I kept it original down to the 1/4" whites with hubcaps. Good power, rode like a dream, and always turned heads. One of my favorite cars.
My parents bought a new Cutlass Supreme in 1975. Was a very nice car. Handsome exterior, Handsome interior. Drove well, was quite, smooth riding, and felt substantial. We liked it very much. Dad sold it in 1981, a bought a new Buick Riviera. That was a very nice car too.
A 1974 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was my first car. I bought it used in 1981 for $1450 right out of high school. Bright red paint/white interior with extra wide white wall tires and a 455 big block engine. I think it averaged around 9 miles per gallon and had an "S" on the floor gear selector for Super mode. It was a cool car and all my friends loved it.
1972-2 door Olds Cutlass Supreme with 350 with a four barrel, blue with white vinyl hard top. Ontario plate ECO 202. That was the car I learned to drive in. A real beauty!
I bought a 1976 Cutlass Supreme! 350 four barrel engine. Beautiful blue with 1/4 white vinyl top.Ehite wall tires. Blue plush interior ,bucket seats. Drove it to 300,000 miles. I miss that Gorgeous Salon!
My 1st Oldsmobile was a 73 Cutlass Supreme. What a great car it was. Then I had a Custom Cruiser and then a Cutlass Supreme Brougham. They were the best American cars I've ever had in the past 44 yrs.
I owned 3 Cutlass Supremes during the 80's, as did many of my friends. I was inspired by my boss, a USMC Vietnam veteran, who saved all his money, to buy a Cutlass convertible, as soon as he came home. We had sort of a club, doing all the work on them, back when auto mechanics was still a home hobby. Sadly, those days are gone.
I had a Cranberry Red 74 Cutlass Supreme with White bucket seat with a factory 455 V8 in it The car also had a RARE Factory sun roof too .That was my high school car & I sure loved it !!!
I had one, OMG, it was the best car I ever had! It had a 455 under the hood and 4-11 gears in the differential. It was fast and still great on fuel. The adventures we had, good times.
I bought a 1977 Olds Cutlass Supreme in a Buckskin metallic from Galles Oldsmobile Cadillac dealership in Albuquerque, I remember when we picked it up it was on the side of the showroom floor and my sister Frances came running down the street and she was so excited. That Cutlass was the most beautiful car I have ever owned. My first new car, i was 19, my father co signed, payment was 142 dollars a month.
Oh what beautiful cars! thank you for the walk down memory lane. I was fortunate to have a 1972 Cutlass Supreme when I was 20. Dark blue metallic with white bucket seats and white vinyl top. It was a dream car, even if it didn't handle for much. Before that, my dad had a '64 F85 convertible. Light blue with red interior and Air Conditioning which was rare for a vert. Great memories.
One of my favorite cars I ever owned was my silver 1976 Cutlass Supreme with red velvet interior... wish i still had it today... so many great memories...
@@blisterbrain Sure was I had a 1976’ 98 regency coupe it was a like a big cutlass same kind of seats huge car. 455 cubes but by 76 it was lot weaker than my 1970’ Delta 88 with the 455’ I owned 8 Oldsmobiles altogether, 2 Toronado’s one being Trofeo. Can you guess my favorite brand of car? lol Actually like Pontiac too especially Grand Prix and both my favorites are gone. Yes you can buy them but the market is expensive. I owned these cars when fairly new yet with low mileage and affordable.
Yes, I currently have a ‘71 Vista Cruiser that I’m restoring. The reasons are clear why the Cutlass was so popular. They were beautiful, reliable and comfortable…at least until 1978 when GM ruined the whole midsize line. IMHO.
I owned 3 1977 Cutlasses, a 1985 Cutlass, a 1966 Delta 88, and my dad had a 1972 Custom Cruiser wagon. All of them went over 300K miles. Solid, well built cars.
One of my dream cars I'd a '87-'88 Cutlass Supreme coupe (G body). I really dig the "euro" front ends offered those years with the composite lights. Gotta have the 307 OLDS V8 of course. But honestly I love all Supreme coupes from '76-'88. Some beautiful looking cars and a symbol of some of Oldsmobile's most successful years. Great video brother
My dad bought a cutlass supreme wagon new in 76, 350 four barrel, decent power with some luxury, it was a tank, it survived three teenage drivers, enough said.
1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was my best car over the years of driving many cars. Drove the car to 216,000 miles with very little maintenance just basic oil changes, brakes and tires. 🚙
When i drove past an Olds dealer one day early in 1982 and saw the charcoal grey Cutlass Supreme at the front of the lot, i fell in love with it. I had a new job and had never had a new car before. This was it! Charcoal grey, silver landau roof, silver velour upholstery. Loved it. It was sharp! Babied it with a good detailing about once a month. After many years, and it could only go in reverse, it was time to sell. Yes, the model was still so popular, and the body and interior still looking good, i sold it to a guy who test drove it backwards around the block. Yes, that was a good car! 😄
I bought that exact car in 1995 in Roswell, NM from my aunt. Had an 84 Regal before that, 4.1 V6 unfortunately. After the 1982 Cutlass blew a head gasket, I bought a used 1986 Cutlass. Guess the color, charcoal grey!! Those G body GMs were awesome. Perfect size, comfortable, and most importantly, rear wheel drive!
My dad had a 1980 Supreme. Very smooth ride, held up very well with rust and very reliable. As a kid I remember being impressed by the power windows, seats and moon roof. Added bonus of AC in the summer.
I commuted to college in the early 90 is a 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 350 rocket. Loved that car and engine. It was like driving around in your living room but she sure could get out of her own way when you hit the gas. Nothing but good memories of that car.
From 1965 through 1979, owned 4 Cutlasses. They were were my absolute favorite car back then. I was still in high school and everyone would ask if it was my dad’s car? Proudly told them it was mine. Actually, I also owned a 88 Olds 98. Now that was a big beauty!!
My dad bought a brand new 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass and it was a beauty. Remember driving cross country with my dad in mid 1970’s. Learned how to drive in that car.
I own the exact 1973 Cutlass Salon pictured at 6:07. That is video from the estate sale listing that the previous owner got it from; I purchased it two years ago. It has the correct wheels and no more bug shield. The Salon was supposed to be a sort of "eurosport" package that GM cooked up, versus the more tradtional Cutlass Supreme. Ended up a pretty good car considering the state of 70s America.
Way cool - in 73 that was a $361 option on the Supreme 4dr only (slightly more than 10% of the base price, so not cheap). It was close to a Grand Am in concept, though the Salon had a standard 350 4bbl, while the Grand Am was a 400 2bbl base. My guess is that's a pretty rare vehicle today. Glad you've found the color matched hubcaps.
I had the same car. Black with the DOHC V-6. I've had V8 Mustangs, Trans Ams, a Camaro SS convertible and a 2016 Taurus SHO, and the Olds Cutlass Convertible is still my favorite over all of them. The leather seats in that thing were beyond comfortable.
@@jeff-ds2pr it really was a great car! My first olds was my Grandads 87 delta 88 royale broughm. It was a light blue with blue interior. I had just gotten my license and he couldn’t drive anymore so I hopped in to a car with barely 10k miles on it. That thing was a great ride too. Didn’t have the sport of the cutlass but it was a great car on date nights!
This was my favorite Cutlass model(beisdes the 70-72) especially the one with the big ol 403 underhood. My best friends folks had one when we were teens and yes it would literally roast the right rear! Made for fun nights cruising the stip here.
This video brought back so many memories. My family had a ‘73 Cutlass Supreme. White with burgundy landau roof A gorgeous car! 11 year old me had designs on acquiring that beauty when I turned 16. Unfortunately, it was never to be. My dad totaled it less than two years after purchase. We ended up buying a ‘75 Vista Cruiser to replace the Cutlass thus becoming a two- wagon family. The other wagon … a ‘67 Bel Air.
My Dad was a used car dealer from the 70s to the 2000s. Back in the 70s and early 80s he couldn't get enough of those Cutlass Supremes and Malibu Classics. He'd go to auctions and by them by the 6-pack. I was always one of the lucky guys that had to drive one home. They drove nice, not exactly a performance machine but they were comfy.
I had a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham. Metallic crimson red with white landau top. They were the car to have and they were everywhere. Love that car!
we had a 1971 Custom Cruiser...we put 248 000 miles on it....best best we ever had...no problems with it. routine rubber, brakes battety tune ups....my friends parents had a 1968 Vista Cruiser..they kept it 12 years and 177 000 miles...
While in college in Boulder Colorado in 1984 I bought from a dealership a lovely used 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe 2-dr in red with white vinyl seats and half a white vinyl top with the 350 V8. It was a great comfortable car, super-dependable and reliable, but not very fast. I sold it in 1986 back to its original owner who had seen it parked on a street near the campus and had put a note on the windshield.
Good vid. I myself had a 76 442 silver with blue stripes. One complaint, you forgot the 62-63 Turbocharged Jetfire. By far the most interesting of all Cutlasses (or F85's). Also you forgot the W30 & W31 packages. And the His/Hers shifters. A friend of my neighbor had one of those 72 Hurst Olds convertibles. That car was qorgeous . The gold interior just glowed in the sun when the top was down. He never put the Pace Car stickers on it. They were still in the trunk . 👊😎👍
7:58 -- The '76 Cutlass S was my first car. My neighbor bought it brand-new in late 1975 for his wife to drive, and I bought it from him in February of 1988 for $400. The A/C even still worked! Other than the usual minor parking lot dings, dents, and scratches, it was in great shape. The *perfect* first-car for a teenage kid in that era. Reliable, but cheap to fix if anything ever did break. I loved the way it looked with that "aero" front grille -- better looking than the squared-off Cutlass Supreme of the era, in my opinion.
I loved that 70's show back in the day. The Vista Crusier made a camio in the Netflix sequel that 90's show. This whole Oldsmobile episode reminded me of Ralphie saying how much his dad loved them on the movie A Christmas story. Keep up the great work guys.
My parents had an Oldsmobile Vista cruiser station wagon. They took us on a trip from Chicago to the Grand Canyon. Back in the days when Allstate insurance provided road maps marked with a route you wanted to travel. The Vista cruiser held its own on the instate w/o issues! It was a blast!
I am fortunate to have a 1974 Cutlass Salon and a 1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic in my collection. Both vehicles are visually appealing, but the ride, appearance, and overall quality of my 1974 model are truly exceptional and difficult to surpass.
Dad loved Oldsmobiles. One we had was a '67 Cutlass Supreme 442 fully loaded. That was a sweet car and a REAL tire burner. Sure wish I still had that car.
Our next door neighbor had a 1971 Cutlass 442 fastback. That car was lightning fast. He would do 180 degree turn at the end of his driveway on the way to work!!!!
I owned a 1975 Cutlass Salon; Forest Green with White Highback Bucket seats and powered by the 350cu inch V-8 engine. It was purchased new in January 75, by my parents, as a College 🎓 Graduation gift! What an unexpected surprise 😮! I believe the MSRP was around $6400. It was a very good looking car; powerful and a good highway curiser. Absolutely loved my first car! 👍💪
I have my grandfather's '65 Cutlass with 330, last new car he bought. Almost 400,000 miles and still going strong! Carb went bad, so I put a Edelbrock intake w/Holley 650, inhaled good, so it needed headers to exhale (I kept the OEM parts). Other than that, nearly stock.
At 24 years old, my first new car, took out a loan and got serious about my doing well at my job. All sliver w Landau top and red interior and those beautiful wheels. 350 V-8 fast smooth rider. I think that was the best year.
Of the cars covered in this video, my parents had new: 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. 1962 Corvair Monza. 1963 Olds F-85 Cutlass convertible. 1968 442 convertible. Thanks for the memories.
I had one you didn't mention, the 75 cutlass, I purchased it back in 1985 when I was 17, it had a 350 cubic engine in it. Was a slight design variation of the 74 and 73 models. I've owned a lot of cars since then, this remains one of my all time favorite cars.
I grew up in the 1970s. The Cutlass, Malibu Classic, and Monte Carlo were popular in the mid-70s. They all had sporty looks, but also had expensive and classic looks.
The Cutlass Supreme was a panty dropper. I can't even begin to describe the feelings that went through my teenage boy body when my buddy and I walked into an Oldsmobile dealership and saw a white '82 Cutlass Supreme Brougham with red interior and t-top with stainless trim that integrated into a stainless hood. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was like watching Phoebe Cates disrobe. I about fainted. The Delorean had come out in all stainless so I guess this was Oldsmobile's riff on that. The luxury of that red velour interior and wood grain trim is just indescribable. Compared to everything else on the market at the time, it's no wonder the Cutlass was such a popular car. It checked all the boxes as did the Olds Delta 88 and 98 sedans. Oldsmobile was the top brand for affordable luxury, dethroning Chrysler which held the title in the 70's. Cadillac was considered a step above but something someone with more money than sense would buy. Lincoln was in between Olds and Cadillac, but if you were middle class and wanted the most comfort, luxury and style for the money you bought an Olds. People thought you were doing really well when you drove up in your new Cutlass Supreme or 98.
The car I learned to drive when I took Driver's Ed in high school was a 1973 Olds Cutlass Supreme supplied by one of the local dealerships. My aunt got one that same year, and I always wanted one. I finally got a 1977 Cutlass Supreme in 1980. I had it for four years and I might have had it for quite a while longer had I not wrecked it, after which I bought a 1982 model. I really enjoyed driving those cars while I had them.
My family had 3 Cutlasses, a 68 Cutlass S, my sister had a 72 Cutlass Supreme convertible, & my mom bought a 75 Cutlass S GMO which was a special edition for different regions for the Olds dealerships
My second car was a 77 Cutlass Supreme coupe 3:56 . Loved that car. Had the 350ci engine with a TH 350 tranny and limited slip rear. Took off like a scalded cat, especially when the back 2 barrels of that Carter Quadrajet kicked in.
I had a 73 2-door Oldsmobile cutlass when I was in high school in 77. It was a cool car and very stylish in an early seventies way. I had a stereo in that car that could compete with some of the best today, of course it played state-of-the-art cassettes!
Had a '74 in high school, and my buddy had a '76. Amazing cars, with lots of options. We put in expensive stereos and they were always full of friends either cruising or partying. ONLY thinkg I hated about them was the scalloped panel in front of the rear wheel. It got destroyed by stones/debris and rusted quickly. I had to repaint that bit every spring (grew up in PA). I got it because my dad had a '72 442 in copper/black stripes. THAT was a fast car!
My first car was a 1966 Olds F-85 four-door sedan, with a 330 CI V-8 and a two-barrel carburetor. Later, I heard that my F-85 was referred to as the "Gutless Cutlass." But it had seats enough for six -- which meant a lot for me and my car-pool in the early 1970s.
nice looking decent power etc. were selling points for the cutlass even when power was down starting around 1973 due to emissions limiting equipment my paternal grandfather owned a 1974 Cutlass S from new in Oct 1973 until Nov 1978 when he traded it for a 1979 Toyota Corolla station wagon granted a Cutlass in that time weighed 4,109 LBs while a Corolla's base weight was 1,962 LBs
I had a 78' Cutlass Supreme in Camel Beige with matching mags and a 350 4 barrel, god I loved that car, of course if you grew up in Lansing MI you most likely drove an Oldsmobile. My uncle retired from Fisher Body.
We had two Cutlasses-a green 75 sedan and a blue 83 Supreme Brougham coupe. I remember the plush seats in the 83. Quite a few relatives and neighbours had them too.
3rd gen Cutlass (late 60s through 72) were the styling classics with horsepower that still draw attention. It is odd that it wasn't till 76 that the more stodgy middle aged Cutlass became the most popular...but it did look better than the 73, 74. However the sexy design of that era in that class was Cordova and Cougar. Hoods like the 71 Cutlass that went on forever.
I was a mechanic at a Oldsmobile Dealership from 1975 to 1986, 80% of the cars I worked on was the Cutlass. Easiest car to work on! BUT very easy to steal. Kept me busy repairing stolen car's.( Insurance job's) LOVED THOSE CUTLASS.
My cousin and I both ordered a 77 Salon back in the day. I had the blue with white landau and two-tone light and dark blue velour interior and she got the brown. I loved the heck out of that car. Would love to find one now.
We grew up with a 1969 Vista cruiser station wagon yellow with the brown wood trim had the 455 motor in it. I learned to drive on it it was a beast. We would take it out when my dad was not around and peg the speedometer, and it would keep going.
Hi everyone! Thank you for watching the video. Hey, don't forget that I sell car posters in my eBay store. Thanks!! www.ebay.com/str/paylessposters
The reason so many people bought a Cutlass was that they were beautiful.
They were "pretty" to look at, but they were QUALITY BUILT! I AM NOT a General Motors "fan", BUT THESE WERE AMERICAN CLASSICS!
I had a 76 model with a rocket 350 and it ran like a sewing machine. And it floated down the highway like a caddy. It was built to last!!
Trying to find one but some are just rust buckets. Thanks for watching!!

@@arcanondrum6543 America was in the crapper before he ever showed up.
I loved my 76 Cutlass Supreme. I bought it in 82 and drove it for 11 years. ❤️
I owned a HORRIBLY BEATEN $60 '76 Cutlass Supreme in 1992! To this day, it stands out as one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE CARS!
My 1st Oldsmobile was a 73 Cutlass Supreme. What a great car it was. Then I had a Custom Cruiser and then a Cutlass Supreme Brougham. They were the best American cars I've ever had in the past 44 yrs.
I was NEVER a G.M. fan, but these were GREAT cars!
Agree
Don't stop now. I need some adventure!
GREAT TIMES!
Great on fuel????
Yes, it was great on fuel. It's funny how having the right four barrel (no double pumper) and having a proper tune-up makes it so
I bought a 1977 Olds Cutlass Supreme in a Buckskin metallic from Galles Oldsmobile Cadillac dealership in Albuquerque, I remember when we picked it up it was on the side of the showroom floor and my sister Frances came running down the street and she was so excited. That Cutlass was the most beautiful car I have ever owned. My first new car, i was 19, my father co signed, payment was 142 dollars a month.
The Olds Cutlass was the #1 selling car in the United States in 1977
As a MoPar fan, I would say this was A WELL DESERVED HONOR! THESE WERE TRULY GREAT CARS!
1978 ..not the 1977..
@@sickheadache9903 it was 1977!
I'm a Proud Owner of a 77 Olds Cutlass
They sure are Beautiful especially in Mint Original Condition with Low Miles
I had a 76 Cutlass Supreme Broham with the triangular crushed velour interior. It was a fantastic car.
I had a 76 Cutlass Supreme, a great value, comfort and style
Oh what beautiful cars! thank you for the walk down memory lane. I was fortunate to have a 1972 Cutlass Supreme when I was 20. Dark blue metallic with white bucket seats and white vinyl top. It was a dream car, even if it didn't handle for much. Before that, my dad had a '64 F85 convertible. Light blue with red interior and Air Conditioning which was rare for a vert. Great memories.
One of my favorite cars I ever owned was my silver 1976 Cutlass Supreme with red velvet interior... wish i still had it today... so many great memories...
That was a nice color combo. I had a 76’ white/red interior Brougham
Was it a "350 Rocket"? LOVED these!
The 350 was weak in 76’ but my 71’ cutlass had the 350 rocket I think it was 260 hp with 4bbl carb very smooth
Those seats were super comfortable
@@blisterbrain
Sure was I had a 1976’ 98 regency coupe it was a like a big cutlass same kind of seats huge car. 455 cubes but by 76 it was lot weaker than my 1970’ Delta 88 with the 455’
I owned 8 Oldsmobiles altogether, 2 Toronado’s one being Trofeo. Can you guess my favorite brand of car? lol Actually like Pontiac too especially Grand Prix and both my favorites are gone. Yes you can buy them but the market is expensive. I owned these cars when fairly new yet with low mileage and affordable.
I can honestly say I miss my 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S to this day.
Yes, I currently have a ‘71 Vista Cruiser that I’m restoring. The reasons are clear why the Cutlass was so popular. They were beautiful, reliable and comfortable…at least until 1978 when GM ruined the whole midsize line. IMHO.
I had a 1968, 70, 71, 72, 77, cutlass. I loved them all. My 1970 was very fast with a 3 speed manual.
@@Financefunandfitness never saw a standard shift Cutlass .. nice I bet it was quick..
I owned 3 1977 Cutlasses, a 1985 Cutlass, a 1966 Delta 88, and my dad had a 1972 Custom Cruiser wagon. All of them went over 300K miles. Solid, well built cars.
My Dad Owned every Model Olds except Tornado. Our Family took Summer Vacations to the Colorado Mountains in a 1968 Vista Cruiser from St. Louis. 👍🙏
I owned two '76 Toronados! The Cutlass lines were FAR SUPERIOR!
Because it was a great car!!! Between me, my relatives & my friends, there must have been FIFTY Cutlasses over the years.
I am sure it was GREAT! These cars were TRUE AMERICAN CLASSICS!
Had an 84 Regal before that,
4.1 V6 unfortunately.
My first Oldsmobile was a 66 f-85 with the 330. My second was a 1970 Vista Cruiser and I have had several more after that.
The early to '77 Cutlass was a GREAT American RIDE!
I love my 66 F-85. The 330 is long gone but there is a nice 455 in it's place.
I've had 5 66s in my life of all body styles except for convertible and Vista Cruiser, currently a 66 442
I commuted to college in the early 90 is a 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 350 rocket.
My first car was a '73 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door with the Old Rocket 350/4 barrel. It was a great car.
I have owned more than 10 Oldsmobile to this date and not only their looks but the sound of the marvelous v8 engines. A wonderful era.
0:07 that door clunk closing sound is hilarious and very accurate.
right? haha!
Still miss my 94 Cutlass Convertible… she was a dream come true ❤
I gotta say. The 72 Pace Car is probably my most favoritest Cutlass of all of them, followed by the Monte Carlo looking ones from the 80s.
This COULD NOT have been a "350" ROCKET! This GREAT MOTOR was also a GREAT ASS-KICKER!
My first car was a '74 Cutlass Supreme coupe. I followed that up with a '76, a '77, a '79, and finally a 1983. I loved all of them.
We had 3 growing up. A 68 4 door, a 72ish 2 door and an 84 brougham 2 door. I was just a kid but loved them all, especially the 72.
Oldsmobile always built the best cars, they were better built than Pontiac and Buick. GM messed up when they stopped building Oldsmobiles.
As a young boy, my Dad bought a 1965 F85 sedan, dark blue with a black vinyl top, with the console shifter. Man, that was a really cool car!
I had the Buick Version, the 1976 Century. Gorgeous car, and still one of the favorites of the many I've owned.
Currently have a 68 Olds Cutlass S and absolutely love it.
I had a 1975 Supreme, metallic chocolate brown with white half roof and interior. It was a beautiful car and fun to drive. Sure wish I still had it 😮
I had one you didn't mention, the 75 cutlass, I purchased it back in 1985 when I was 17, it had a 350 cubic engine in it. Was a slight design variation of the 74 and 73 models. I've owned a lot of cars since then, this remains one of my all time favorite cars.
I remember on my one-hour long bus ride to middle school in the mid to late 70's seeing a "new" Cutlass on the way. It was a nice looking car!!
I had a '92 white Cutlass convertible! Beautiful car!
Mom & dad had several 70s Cutlass Supremes. Mom loved them. The last one dad bought was a brown 82 Cutlass Supreme. Takes me back to childhood
This new channel is even better than the old one!! You guys are on to something pretty darn special in my opinion!!!!
The Cutlass was everywhere throughout the mid to late Seventies!
"I had a stereo in that car that could compete with some of the best today, "
LOL, you must've bumped your head.....thats hilarious !
They sold well because they were great cars. The rocket 350 was a great engine, I loved my 77.
My first car was a 1966 Olds F-85 four-door sedan, with a 330 CI V-8 and a two-barrel carburetor.
Later, I heard that my F-85 was referred to as the "Gutless Cutlass."
But it had seats enough for six -- which meant a lot for me and my car-pool in the early 1970s.
Olds Cutlass Calais 1979. Big huge V8 engine. It was a stealth hot rod. Good looking car, comfortable interior and a quiet, smooth ride.
nice looking decent power etc. were selling points for the cutlass even when power was down starting around 1973 due to emissions limiting equipment my paternal grandfather owned a 1974 Cutlass S from new in Oct 1973 until Nov 1978 when he traded it for a 1979 Toyota Corolla station wagon granted a Cutlass in that time weighed 4,109 LBs while a Corolla's base weight was 1,962 LBs
ive had 3, a 77, 84, and 87. I loved all of them. Some friends had a matching pair of 73's with the 350 rocket. they were everywhere.
That Olds brings back find chikdhood memories. Great channel, thanks
I can't type nor spell apparently
