    One thing I like about this channel is the honesty ! All persons are respectable and as always i love your reviews!
    I bought this in .30 cal and so far with a 100 grain slug ive gotton 142 ftlbs.
    I love this rifle amd am very please with Ben at Pellet shop, well everyone at pelelt shop has been awesome on customer service!
    Not my first AEA product. And had issues with first purchase, and that's where that awsome cust. Serv. Comes in! They walked me through different processes till i found the cause of the issue and sent me parts to fix!
    Thanks again for awesome reviews!

    I'm shooting at 4500 psi regulated at 3000psi and I got 1543 FPS with a 9.8 grain ammo, and 1019 FPS With a 40G, but I made that with a JSB and a 5 g BB glued in for a toldal of 40g =92.25 FPE in a 22 cal that is AMAZING 👏

      It's not going to be very accurate at supersonic speeds. It's pointless to have that much energy if you can't constantly group the shots. Especially a .22 which depends on accuracy to kill medium game animals.

    • @antoninogerbino4074
      @antoninogerbino4074 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Bigpopperairguns what rounds count or how many shots per fill in such configuration, with the regulator set at 3,000 psi? Two screw turns and to turn clockwise or counterclowise the screw to reach HIGHER PSI?
      You swapped heavy hammer spring, I assume: do you till set down the power for plinking?
      So you glue a BB at the back inside the skirt of 34 gr pellet, right - is Superglue OK?

    Should be noted that for optimal tuning with the regulator lower you really should search for a different hammer spring. When you drop the reg it is massively over sprung for that lower pressure. Thank you though so much for going where no other reviewers will go, into reg adjustment. Thank you thank you !!

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. I failed to mention they have a heavier hammer spring you can change out which gives you even more options.

    • @Light_357
      @Light_357 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AirgunDetectives
      Actually you mentioned that. I just think optimally an even softer than stock hammer spring would be better for running the reg at 100 to 120 bar. I bet you would get even more shots and have same performance once that optimum spring was found.

    Thank you for this excellent review! These things(and this brand) look great! I have a .22 Origin(shoots great!), and have considered adding an Avenger to get into regulated air guns. But, in both cases, I am concerned about over all quality control, and being able to get parts for repair. I want something that will last a LONG time- or at least can be easily repaired. My first Origin always shot great, but the pressure gauge began malfunctioning after a couple of months. I could not get them to send me a new gauge or tell me which one I could buy in the aftermarket and replace without voiding the warranty. They insisted they wanted their "gunsmiths" to have a look at it, and that probably they would simply send me a new rifle(for a cheap gauge!). In some ways that was great, they got the shipping both ways and I had a brand new rifle in 7 days! That is hard to beat, but what will happen once this is out of warranty? THEN, while the new rifle also shot great, the hand pump was dead in the water. I call them again, same story, just send it back for a new rifle. They did not have any pumps, only the package with gun + pump. Since I had a cheap electric compressor, I did not send it back. And after working on the hand pump, I have it about halfway working as a back up, I can pump up to at least 2500 PSI. But it seems to me that they do not work on anything, they just get the boxes in from China and send them out. I hear similar stories about the Avenger. Again, how is that going to work when the warranty has expired? ...................................................... So, do you feel these firearms have better quality control and overall quality than the Umarex Origin and AV Avenger(so perhaps they will last longer)? More importantly, do you think this company (AEA) will actually make parts available, and/or be able to repair these guns once the warranty has expired? TIA!

      With the exception of Crosman/Benjamin most air rifles are very difficult to find replacement parts.

  • @ericteipen
    @ericteipen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own several AEA guns and what you neglected to say is that when you add the heavier hammer spring it makes the trigger very heavy. That's the only complaint that I have about them. I have the Challenger in .25 and 9mm and have the heavier hammer spring in my 9mm and on my Lyman scale it has a pull weight right at 7 pounds. Absolutely terrible but it's putting out upwards of 400 FPE. It's plenty good enough to kill a deer at 75 yards but you're not going to get 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards. My .25 at set 90 FPE is very accurate. 1/2 inch groups all day long with NSA slugs.

    I'm really impressed with the AEA product line. One thing that's really frustrating for me, is I feel like I have to buy a semi auto rifle because I am right handed and a majority of the manufacturers put the cocking lever on the right. I don't want to have to move my hand away from the trigger to cock a weapon. I like to be able to rapid fire. A majority of marksmen are right handed, so it makes no sense to me. My biggest negative with a lot of guns is the cocking lever isn't reversible. I think the challenger series is one of the few from AEA that is reversible. But, it's a pain in the ass to do. I talked to folks at airguns of colorado and they have a pretty good selection of used PCP's for very reasonable prices. They have a rating system for the condition. Currently I can get a .30 cal semi auto AEA in excellent condition for $999. That is the 2nd highest rating to like new in box. There are so many options out there, but I have plenty of time to research and shop. I more than likely wont be buying one until September. I'm looking forward to your review sep 1.

    goes on and on about how quite it is with the suppressor but fails to mention the fact that he went from shooting above the speed of sound to subsonic.

    But but you can't shoot an airgun over 1000 fps accurately they say!
    I don't subscribe to this nonsense. It is indeed very possible.

      You are correct! ...it depends on the weight and shape of the projectile. It is true that lighter weight pellets, especially in .177 caliber, will become unstable as they hit higher velocities (i.e speed of sound) But there are many factors to consider, the gun, the barrel, size and weight of the pellets etc. There are many airguns as well as regular rifles that are extremely accurate well beyond 1000 fps. Thank you for tuning in and I appreciate you leaving comments 👍
