    Just ordered the JTS Airacuda Max 22 cal. from Mike at Flying Dragon air guns. What a nice man to talk with. It was like talking to an old friend. He gave me a great deal on the rifle, compressor and scope, threw in a tin of JTS pellets too. Thanks for the recommendation.

    One warning about the split rail for the scope...If the front and back rails are not perfectly aligned it can make the scope zeroing at 30m + difficult. I've had this issue with the Venturi Avenger for example. That bolt probe looks nice. Should not damage the pellets when it is pulled back. Many airguns damage the pellet skirts from the magazine because the probe rubs on it as the pellets cycle.

    My one con with this one might be a very common thing to many modern PCPs... I can't see any open/iron sights on it. So; another 400 on a decent scope for it - if you want to use that good accuracy provided by the rifle itself.... Yea.. Just kinda wanted to say my point. I'd want iron sights, no matter if a scope, or red dot sight would come in the box along the rifle.
    But. A way classy review, once again. Thank you JC!🙂👍🏻

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bror, you are a young guy with good eyes so open sights work for you. Not many PCP's have open sights. The good thing is "no-recoil" so you can get away with a less expensive scope. I hope all is good 👍

      I hope to get the non- regulated version in the future and we'll take a closer look. I think it will depend on your primary use. The Max is a balanced model with the regulator good for both hunting, plinking and target shoot. The other will be primarily for hunting. 👍😉

    Very interesting. I am a member of GTA and saw your post there. I may "need" one of these. I own a DAR Gen II and this rifle reminds me of it in terms of design and manufacture this is a good thing.I know that there only so many ways to make something but the similarities are strong. I am not a fan of thumbhole stocks but it looks as though one could rest the thumb of the shooting hand on the top of the stock and treat the stock as a straight pistol grip.

    Awesome review on this gun. I actually hopped backwards chronologically in the videos; I saw the JTS 2023 shot-show preview that you did recently, then looked up the regular airacuda, then ended on this one. I definitely think I'm going to pick one of these up, but I might wait until you have a chance to review the new .30 cal before I make my choice. I do have a question: Toward the end of this video, you referenced the regular airacuda and said that it is (well, as close to your words as I can remember) light, powerful and good for hunting. Is that a comment about that gun in particular, or as compared to the MAX? That is to say, is the a non-regulated PCP better than a regulated PCP for hunting? It sounds counterintuitive, but that's how I interpreted the statement and I could easily be mistaken. Thank you.

      I would be willing to bet this could be adjusted to 50 ft/lbs. It would eat the shot count so if that power is important this probably isn’t the gun for you. It was obviously set up from the factory to sweet spot 25 grainers.

    • @BillyBobTup
      @BillyBobTup ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AirgunDetectives I was wondering about the power also, which did not seem all that high for a 25. But, I was also wondering if the power settings were maxed out? Since, this rifle's power is fairly adjustable, isn't it?

      A bit late to the party, I know after a review that this .30 model would be only 92 decibels unsuppressed. Such promises to be really quiet with a suppressor. There are suppressed rifles louder than this one without suppressor, even some FX

    Hey, Jc im looking at getting my first pcp, i cant decide to get this or the barra 1100z. Are they both hand pump friendly?

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Barra has a smaller air tank so it would be easier to fill. However, the Airacuda has a larger tank but you'll get more velocity and regulated shots. The good thing is they are both a 3000 psi fill. The Airacuda is more $ money so that is something to think about. You can't go wrong either way. Just a reminder, hand pumping is not fun.😉

    These guns are being released July 25th I believe. It may be a Air Venturi Avenger killer.
    Does it have an adjustable regulator and hammer spring?
    Someone needs to start making a bigger plenum asap!
    The o rings aren’t on the pellet probe, but they are inside the breech where the pellet probe goes into. Otherwise it wouldn’t shoot for shit.

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Definitely, this rifle is putting out 40 Plus FPE. JTS also has a "Non-Regulated" version specifically designed for hunting. It will have a transfer port adjustment and you will also be able to adjust the hammer spring. So you will get a handful of really powerful shots, it will be a bit lighter, perfect for taking into the field, and it will retail for about $100 less. I will feature one of those in the future.

    Yet another positive review.
    The reviewer received a free, checked and tuned air gun from the manufacturer.
    Maybe the reviewer even got paid for the review.
    Shot a few hundred pellets for a few days at best.
    Then calls the air gun the best ever, or whatever praise would satisfy the manufacturer.
    DO NOT TRUST MOST AIRGUN REVIEWERS!
    TRUST ACTUAL SHOOTERS WHO PAY FOR THEIR AIRGUNS!
