    I don’t know if it’s just me…but I get more enjoyment when I watch these nature documentaries with Sir David Attenborough during the long cold winter season.it’s kind of like when it rains outside you tend to be more relaxed and sleep better…..his narrator skills is just incredible and unmatched in my opinion.he’s got the humor and explains so well that you understand what your seeing each and every time

    Trying to watch these documentaries with my toddler instead of the junk that's out there for kids... She loses interest in the last quarter heh but glad she enjoys it and it's educational for us both... Such a delight to watch 🌱

      As a kid, my mom put on Bindi the Jungle Girl (Steve Irwin's daughter) and Zoboomafoo! The shows are a little older now but they really taught me to respect nature and all if it's beautiful animals.

      Once I had seen behind the scene one of Planet earth series, there they told that sometimes one single shot required months even years. They put remort camera to capture those, as it is impossible for human beings to wait in a single place for that long time period. I truly appreciate that they have made this series.

    Absolutely spectacular shots and filming. The scenes with the otters, manatee, mayflies, kingfisher, osprey, jaguar, all of it is simply gorgeous. And there's no better narrator than Sir David Attenborough, knighted twice for his service in Television broadcasting and Conservation, in 1985 and again in 2020 at 94 yrs of age.
    I can't think of anyone more worthy. Bravo Sir 👏👏 Well done.

    Cinematography, shots, and everything about this documentary are absolutely fabulous..... but Everybody talks about the shots and the effort behind them, no one talks about the magnificent power that creates these creatures, scenes, nature, and the mind of the cinematographers.

    It broke my heart seeing the hippos crammed in the mud. How can we take so much for ourselves and leave very little for other species?? We have to act now or else we're going to endanger a lot of animals' lives. I really hope we, human beings realize the urgency for the earth to recover.

      I was just about to start watching this one after checking the comments for heart-breaking themes. The Ant(Arctic) one is grim, especially in terms of walruses. Brace yourself; it's a tough watch at times, yet we have to see what we've pushed these poor animals to.

    I have seen the Australian desert come alive after rainfall. It is one of the most amazing things you can witness. One day is a empty dust bowl then you wake up the next day to a pond with thousands of animals you never saw before and a forest bloom out of thin air. Very magical, rainfall in a desert and the great barrier reef are the two most beautiful sights I've witness personally.

      @@___meph___4547 Eating meat and/or hunting are things which you can argue for or against in several ways, but "we've been doing this for a long time" is an absolutely worthless way to judge what we should or should not do... humans have also engaged in murder, rape, theft, etc, for about as long as we've been human (and when war became common is hard to say, but it's not a recent thing), are you saying we should be doing those things too just because "we've been doing is as long as we've been human"???

    As we’ve come to expect the phenomenal results of all the cameraman and staff…just stop and think…how on earth do they get so close ? Sometimes it’s doesn’t seem they are actually anywhere ….that’s how damn experienced the crews are,and all done in the name of Nature! Sir David Attenborough is the cream to top it all off….I’ve learnt more about our beautiful planet from his programs than all my past teachers put together!
    He is and will be remembered as the most prolific narrator of all time….also his love and devotion for all living things,including our planet, makes all his assorted programs so real..and his joy of it all shows on his face and a twinkle in his eyes! God bless you Sir David. X

      And then seeing the butterfly go back to troll it by landing right above it again gives me appreciation for hands and arms. Everytime i let a fly troll me itll constantly land on lets say my shoulder until i wave my hand.     "Our Planet" is my favorite documentary series ever. Beside getting to know our planet better (and we humans are really selfish and destructive creatures), these series are just... bomb. It feels as if we're watching a movie in a big cinema, with all those alluring, pleasing shots and exciting BGMs. It must've been a difficult journey. Props to the cameramen and all the staffs who make these series.

      Smattless while I agree that we’re losing our minds far too much over the environment it’s not like Earth is doing fine regardless of us either. Deforestation threatens biodiversity on a massive scale, for example, and this documentary series does a pretty good job naming plenty of things that have been destroyed. Overfishing has also seriously messed up environments across the planet. The fact that for every destroyed ecosystem you can name two that are flourishing doesn’t actually change the facts, it just puts them into perspective but since the value of life is so subjective the scale is pointless anyways.

      @Smattless uhm water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution. We usurp lands of wildlife habitat. Overly exploiting natural resources, marine animals being eaten to extinction. Most of their predators die because they don't have any preys to eat to begin with. We are making species extinct faster than we discover them. 🙄Nuclear explosions.. what else?? I can name a lot. This virus is the cleansing ritual of Mother Nature. We are the real virus.

    I adore & even adulate this sort of singular nature doc. which may be arguably unrivaled, unparalleled, & almost incomparable in its superlative quality. In particular, it seems my stressed-nerves caused by daily life is somewhat alleviated namely it appears to have some soothing effect on me. I wonder if anyone else feels sentient of it. Soundly enjoy, admire, & appreciate it to the core at the opulent comfort of my home in southern California.(01/06/24)

      They most likely didn't populate the world, but a city sized section. They would have a shitton more resources, wouldn't be destroying the earth, would have less people to take care of, and could research and function better.
      And that is why sacrifices most likely happened, to keep the city limit.

    The sequence where they transition from mayflies to King Fisher and Osprey dives was, for me, probably one of the most gorgeous footage and musical pairings I've ever seen in a nature special. Maybe tied with Planet Earth 2's bit transitioning from Caribou migration into a wolf chase

    This is one of the most beautiful documentaries I've every seen it really inspired me and made me realize that we need to fix how we treat this amazing planet, because if we don't it could be the end of what we all know as Earth. Our Planet should keep making episodes if possible because every night I watch one I can't wait to see another one and show off what I learned. I feel like people really need to know that we don't have much time to fix what we have done.

    These our planet series are really great and informational. I know it is hard to make them specially such a delicate moments of smallest to largest species are not easy to capture. These people do a great job and deserve hundreds of thumbs up. My great thanks to all of them :)

    If you want to see just how different things are now, I recommend watching these videos from the 70s, the 80s, the 00s. There are sights in them that no longer exist on this world, in film, for you to see and realize the gravity of our situation.

    Thank for this spectacular content. As a Cambodian, when I see one part( 2-3 min) is talking about two rivers in Cambodia, I feel thankful and I think this video is valuable for others Cambodian too. So I translate it to Khmer ( Cambodian language) and posted to my Facebook acc. For only one reason, I want to spread the messages.     Extraordinary, Mind Boggling, Spectacular, Overwhelming, The best documentary on mother nature i have ever seen in my life. Though at the starting of the video, i was enjoying the view the videography the narration but it didn’t went the same till the end. I was not able to express the pain i felt at the end of the video. We as human needs to take care of our nature, animals, plants, wildlife, or else there’ll be just a memory of them & we’ll never ever see them again. I hope we as humans will do justice with our planet without being greedy for ourselves. Thank you Netflix for this amazing, mind blowing, and extremely informative documentary.
