    I seen in the news that they've put these on TH-cam for free at the request of teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. They've always allowed teachers access to educational documentaries via Netflix for free (so they can show students in class), but now teachers are having to move classes online. Very commendable to see a global big fish putting education before making an extra buck! Well done Netflix!

      I'm 65. I have been impressed by nature since I was... 3???
      I LOVE nature shows. I can watch them all day long. Especially the quality of the ones that BBC has been producing in the last 10 years. The capabilities of modern cameras and remote vehicles has produced astounding video of our world. So much more so that was ever able to be created before.
      I am never going to get to so many of these places and these videos bring the world right into my home. I have been a few places and will take my memories of them and put the smell and feel into what I watch too. The HEAT the COLD, the buzzing insects that bite me! The awful smells that sometimes arise. The GORGEOUSLY HEAVENLY SMELLS of other places and things.
      One of my most wonderful olfactory memories is riding through a small grove of teak in bloom. I almost fell off my motorcycle as the scent hit me! It was like drinking the most wonderful nectar through my nose! I had to turn around, swim through it again, and then come back through it once more. I will NEVER forget that! My girlfriend was riding behind me and her scream of olfactory pleasure is still burned in my memory too!

    David Attenborough was the reason i got interested in animals and nature, making me motivated to become a vet. I love watching his documentaries, as they inspire me to make a change. Seeing the ice glaciers fall, the polar bears, it really makes me cry. I hope everyone who watches this and hears his speeches on saving the planet will really try their best to inspire others to help save our planet. Even though your efforts are little, if everyone puts in bit by bit, surely we can make great changes for our future. (This is very dramatic, my apologies-)

Bout all we can really do is some drastic stuff like orbital mirrors or something to help drop global temps. Or somehow processing massive amounts or CO2 and storing it somewhere in a stabile form to reduce greenhouse gas levels. We can't really do all that much. Nature has to repair. I'm pretty sure wildlife camera crews have strict rules not to interfere, no matter how heartbreaking it is. They can't save every animal in distress, and it would upset the natural balance. Predators need to eat too. I think the only time they made an exception was when lots of baby sea turtles got confused and went towards a city instead of the water when they all hatched. It might have been Planet Earth II or something. They were allowed to interfere because the problem was caused by humans (artificial light attracted the babies who thought it was the light reflecting off the ocean), so their help to fix the problem was acceptable. They collected all the babies from the storm drains, parking lots, roads, etc and put them back in the ocean. This situation with the salt, however, is 100% natural, so I doubt they would have been allowed to interfere. It's sad, but completely normal.

      I am not kidding / trolling. I'm just tired of seeing all these noble thoughts leading nowhere. it has been clear for some decades now that we have to unite our forces. But I still have to eat, use electricity and water, drive my car for job related reasons, etc. In other words, I have to leave an ecological footprint. And, sadly, no green battle cry can make that footprint smaller.
      so, what shall be the first step to save life on Earth?

    • @IroAppe
      @IroAppe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@istvansipos9940 All and foremost we first have to address the largest contributors. Energy production and transport. Transport is being innovated so much right now, in a few years, most people could drastically decrease their carbon footprint that way. Want to do something right now but don't have electric charging stations where you live? Get a low emission gas car. Energy production is mostly political, but who elects the leaders? Right - the people. So if the people want, they will elect the right leaders, that will change things.
      That assumes that people are willing to pay more of their money to fund that change. That is the largest issue. Of course it should not affect those that can't afford that at all, or otherwise would fall below the living wage. But most of us don't even want to give a little of what we have to improve things. That has to change.
      Also, market prices do not reflect the costs that CO2 emissions will create in the future. That is also something that politics could change. It is just very logical to do something now, as it is the cheapest now. It only gets more and more expensive in the future, where more and more effort will be required to weaken the effects.
