One of the great days of my life and my hero had no memories ? He still remains , along with Martin Luther and Mahatma Ghandi the greatest people of my generation. we are still hoping for the day that the colour of your skin or your sexuality or your religion does not define you or seperate you from mainstream society

I'd say its ALIVE AND KICKING.........and I always play this song in my Porsche and I think I am the one that has put 4,000 hits on it on youtube. What a great band and a part of my childhood. The first band I ever played drums in played this song and we always got people happy and they loved it. The 80's was an amazing time and some great music, and god rest his soul but the drummer was also the Power Station drummer and a great drummer. Thanks for posting and I have tickets to the Orlando Florida Show.........can't wait.

I can remember this day. I remember walking up towards the twin towers of Wembley - and you just knew you were going to be in for a truly great day. and it was.
After hearing Jim Kerr speak recently about the first line in the first verse of this track, “you turn me on”, I just 😂 at the opening. He says he still doesn’t like the line, he’s not Marvin Gaye 😂

I went on my own as well. Just split with my girlfriend at the time. Like you, there was no way I was going to miss it.

If you never attended a Simple Minds concert; or a U2 concert, or saw a live performance by David Bowie in the late 80's, you truly missed out.
Bowie impacted my life in a big way, but I thought and still think Glass Spider was just dreadful. The tour footage makes me cringe.

Not sure why people always have to mention U2 when it comes to Simple Minds, it's possible to just enjoy both bands, it's quite easy actually.
Because Jim Kerr himself talks about how SM and U2 were on par with each other at one time. It's a perfectly fair subject to discuss.
Jim Kerr has never looked so hot as he does here. Great band, loved them then and still love them today.
