- Hey guys, thought I’d share my Drumathon Live Stream performance on 15th May 21 of one of my fav Simple Minds songs ‘Alive and Kicking’. This is one of my fav songs to play live so thanks to everyone who tuned in to watch. I remember many many years ago, Jim was asked for the umpteenth time about the similarity between SM and U2. He said SM were more feminine, and this proved true with the likes of Robin Clark, Lisa Germano, Sarah, Catherine, Berenice and Cherisse all adding to that vibe.
It's one thing to see a drummer play but to see them clearly having fun just adds to the experience. Great job.

what an AWESOME drummer! just love the energy she puts into the song, to be honest i have been in the backwoods music wise and never knew who Cherisse Osei was, then i saw Simple Minds on BBC4 and WOW ! even the most laid back song was given enthusiasm and energy. And a new fan was born :)

Being somewhat of a drummer myself, I always seam to be critical of drummers performances, probably stemming out of jealousy seeing the likes of John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Ian Pace in my time to name but a few of the all time greats doing what they were put on this earth to do and that of course is to provide the backbone of any band. That is what I see in you Cherisse and I must add that you are also better looking than any of them. I wish you well.

Seeing her play SM like this, I now know in my heart that their music will be played and heard until the end of time. I'm happy that SM was my soundtrack as a teenager and are still such a powerful band.

I'm from Brazil, in my retro music days, Simple minds was in the top 10. Nowadays I haven't lost anything of its essence, I'm still current as always, only if I won. As a great architect was here in Brazil, Oscar Niemeyer. "To be simple is to be sophisticated" so simple mind will always get my price, even more so releasing cassette tapes.
And the back vocals have all the credits, possible and imaginable on the face of the earth, they sing a lot!! and the drummer?? too professional too much, and the turn she gives, limping !!! congratulations

One of my favorite SM songs … I was 17 when this song came out in 1985 . I remember seeing the SM on tv playing the live aide show .

It is difficult to put your own stamp on something, while staying tight to the original, absolutely nailed this. My mate was S/M on SM tour last year, I knew MG wasn't on it, I asked him what the replacement was like, he said "she's phenomenal" . He knows his music
I got to see from front-center seat where the stage is inches from me Cherisse play in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA and she is pure absolute talent! 🤔
