      Brian, I'm sure you probably know this already, but I think it might be worth mentioning that if you have Windows 10 or 11 Pro, (and therefore you have Group Policy Editor available), policy changes can be applied and activated without needing to restart. All you need to do is open a an Administrative Command Prompt and type: *gpupdate /force* and wait for the system to reply that the update was successful.

      About Registry: It´s important you know exactly what you are doing with it. It´s supposed to be used by other programs or 3rd party software. It´s a very sensitive part of Windows. One incorrect change, as small as it can be, and Windows may not be able to boot.

      @@Britec09 Exactly. All the tinkering (and "developing") of Windows 11 just seems to introduce as many new bugs as it does improvements to the system - very unMicrosoft-like)
      I cannot, for the life of me, understand why someone would migrate to Windows 11 from Windows 10 if they don't have to (and especially if their PC doesn't have the full stated requirements to run Windows 11)!
      Why not just wait a while until Windows 11 is better developed and some of the bugs have been "ironed-out?"
      Windows 11 seems a bit like the Austin Allegro of OSs: not properly tried, tested and developed by the manufacturer - the poor users are expected to be the development test-drivers.....

    I can see it happening and maybe I'm being polite with the billing as well.

    Just because you dont want it, doesnt mean others dont. So please explain your reasoning behind why you disable things so that people can make an informed decision and know why. I know you did with chat but not all.

      you're right, even if brian do a very good work, it must have an explanation part about why disabling some settings or not.... even the video title is a little excessive.

    • @Chewiebakke
      @Chewiebakke 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is absolutely a valid point.
      Brian does mostly point out that it's down to user's preference where that is pertinent, and only recommends disabling those other 'features' offering no real benefit to the user but a great deal of information for M$.
      The general computer/smartphone using public have a very poor understanding of the risks of data gathering. I have started recommending two TH-cam interviews that Soft White Underbelly did with a hacker (named Gummo) to more understand that they are not all black hat, can turn their lives around, and (certainly in the second interview) offer an insight into that follies of sharing your life on social media.

      A lot of what he's doing is self explanatory. You choose if you want to do it or not. Some things bog down the PC minimally and can be removed or disabled. He even tells you to read the stuff on the screen to see if it's something you want to remove. I think certain people just want everything instant from him and don't want to figure out why themselves or do any extra reading. Also he's tweaking some settings to make them similar to how they were in Windows 10.
