Play Tested Thanks for your Amazing video I bough the new elite series 2 it’s perfect and compatible on my hand very well but the original series 1 is not
Hey man. I just got my elite 2 today as well. On your original elite with the right thumbstick, it's a hairline crack on the bottom bit (on the inside). That happened to my first elite controller. If you play a lot of cod or zombies for me it's the knifing. I've always been a 4 paddle person. The new ones are a lot smaller. When the led is off the paddles are disabled. The short ones are wider and 360 sticks. If you put you tension the highest and the 360 sticks it mimics the original 360 pads. Enjoy the new toy :)
Thanks for watching! Yeah I figured that wobbly stick on the gen 1 came from pressing it but I also usually mapped clicks of sticks to panels so who knows what happened. I am a 4 panel guy for a few games, mainly Doom and Halo 5. But most of the other time I was a 2 panel guy. After playing with the new one today I think I can be a 4 panel on every game due to the shorter bottoms.
I had my elite controller for 2 years and I only had 1 minor problem. And that problem was that my pinky would rub against the rubber and it would cause blisters. The 2nd one is 10x better and I felt the difference the first time I held it. People are saying that there are many problems but I have encountered none and I got this controller the first day it came out. Hands down best controller of the Xbox one era
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately my A button just started doing some sticky things and had to send it in. But other than that, it's been bliss all around.
Play Tested yea that’s been a problem for my friend. I guess I’m just lucky but I think the controllers awesome. Hopefully you won’t have anymore problems!
About the bumpers, I didn't get it. RB and LB were just one plastic part, in both the normal Xbox and the Elite 1 controller, that bends in the middle each time you press either button, so it was always a question of time until it breaks
When I got the series 1 elite controller, it didn't last long. It got drift in the first 2 months. The series 2 however, hasn't gotten drift since I bought it. Definitely a better controller!
Short version, easier to hold the controller. Long version, the top panels being shorter when you pair them with the shorter panels on the bottom makes it harder for me to grip the controller the way I want. The placement of where my fingers line up with the shortys on top requires a grip that requires me to hold it a bit higher.
i'm looking into what controller i should use as a primary gameing gamepad for spicificaly xboxes. so far the elete series 2 seems to have better build quality than the first but the series 1 has the piec on top the home button is in and i kinda like the look of it. it's worth mentioning though for anyone interested in the elite 1 or 2 controller to use as a primary controller i think you should be aware of high quality controller manufacturers like scuff cuz in my opinion it seems scuff's xbox controllers are at least slightly beter overall and extensively customizeing them is far more consume friendly oh and if your a fan of gyro aiming or simply want mation controlls their's some prety high quality aftermarket ps4 controllers that have a design more similar to the xbox controllers than ps4 controllers. I think their's better options for my high budget so i'm gona keep researching other controllers.
Why is no one saying anything about the 2 being smaller. And thinner. Noticeably smaller and thinner. And it does not feel comfortable in the hand because you fingers wrap all the way around it and i have medium sized hands.
I'm not sure which two you're referring to. At first hold I could tell the top two were smaller but they definitely are but I did say how the bottom two are much shorter.
I presume you can still use Kontrol Freaks on the sticks to get taller/domed sticks? Are the rubber parts of the sticks the same size as the series 1s?
Does the "A" button stick on your controller too, like it does on mine? This was an issue on the first elite controller too, for the first couple of hours of usage.
I've had 6 replacement pads and sticky sticks has not been an issue once. The real issue is the face buttons not registering reliably enough. I thought I'd check out all these "reviews" of the pad and not surprisingly is that not one of them tested the face buttons during their review. Essentially, the new design has lower profile buttons than the standard and series 1, and the butting doesn't have enough travel to consistently press the button. So if you give the button a quick short press, or an angled press (which happens a lot during actual casual use than it does during "testing") you get a none registered pressed. We're in to April now, and I'm still returning my pads to MS, and they all suffer the same design fault. Now either I'm the most unluckiest guy on the planet, or MS and these reviewers are not tested these pads properly.
Yes I think it was and possibly still is over priced. I really do like the controller too. Grips peel off over time, I got a full controller grip to cover it but Keyboard nor Chatpad doesn't fit with that on! And I would get shorter paddles for the back, unless controllers lays down flat or reinvent the buttons... ABXY might stick if not cleaned regularly. Also, is the USB cord with it 8 feet?
Great comparison, thank you. I pre-ordered mike and picked it up today. Never had the original elite remote. Does any usb charger brick work with these?
What I wonder is will the game track the shorter trigger in shooter games? I had that issue with the old one where it wouldn't react to some trigger bumps

Elite controllers are a great design but the parts and build quality is just about the worst I have ever experienced, it's shocking how the can charge so much for something that will fall apart within months of purchase.
That sucks that your controller magically got cracked. It happened in a really odd place. Video came controllers shouldn't be brittle to crack like that, or at least One would think so. Of all the components of a console gaming system, the controllers are the parts which get handled the most and it's not unlikely that one will get knocked off the coffee table a time or two..... eventually. I haven't dropped any of S-series controllers but I know I've "set" them down a bit carelessly a couple times from game frustration but luckily they are fine. But mine are standard console bundled model 1708s. I'm just sayin, it seems like it took a good knock or fall for it to crack like that. So you have kids?.... Or a spouse or siblings? I'm guessing somebody might be scared to tell you what happened.
Thanks for watching! And no I live alone. Like I said in the video I did have a squeaky trigger and I used a device to get a bit of oil on the spring which required me to snake it under the trigger and I'm guessing maybe the oil did something.
My concern and anyone that can answer this, I appreciate, not a gamer, so be nice about it, please. I hate, so much, when there are design complaints, that clearly were there to start with, made to break and my biggest concern, is reliability, will that built-in, pain in the ass to change, or maybe impossible to change, is braindead, colors (who cares, I want it to work), but the battery thing: why not make a replacement charger swap that is easy, to make your greed money, not profit, because noted by a Microsoft marketer on this, it was glanced by, that is seemed to me, impossible to swap, meaning, wired only and warranty doesn't fly on this, because when "renewed", or "refurbished" is offered for real, even by Microsoft, that rechargeable battery is likely, dying, to die. When I say, the warranty does not fly, that means, having to pay shipping games for the warranty, means no joystick and at these prices, get real. Yeah, I am a geezer, old games were fun, but the beating that a Sega Genesis could take, being tossed (stupid and childish, but they were cheap), they were almost impossible to break, $30 to replace, but these are $150-$200 controllers, sorry, not, joysticks, clearly made to break and one person, looking a few of these great videos, had one arrive, broken and Microsoft had the poor guy, who also bought a warranty, ship it back, wait for repair, then have it shipped back, over just replacing it, was some trust, putting out that kind of cash, like that money would break Microsoft, or, this was a huge con, for a joystick. It is just obvious, or seems so, for anyone designing this, to think of a dead battery, seemingly, so damn hard to replace, maybe, cannot and when cell phones started this BS crap, citing dust, that was a piss off. The original just broke on its own, taken care of and the new and improved has glaring design flaws (on purpose), come on. This made to break BS, is BS! * I could be 100% wrong, not a gamer, so be kind in correcting me, I value it and I don't troll others, so please, be nice, polite, helpful and I will thank you! Cheers!
A custom battery is usually made for the reason of space. If you want the consumer to be able to use either swappable batteries or a rechargable you have to account for both. Meaning less room or you have to make it more bulky. There are other small things that can be better without a swappable battery but it varies from product to product. Not saying it's not Microsoft being a bit of a dick here but the elite series 2 does have a different chassis from the standard controller. It's possible that to keep it the same size an internal battery had to he used.

So what ur saying is, i just got the best controller out...
I will
fucking hell that intro music is too loud man...
Others have expressed this. I have fixed it on future videos. Apologies.
@@playtested2168 cool btw just an advice if you can still edit videos even after you uploaded them already or put a warning at beginning that would probably help your channel a lot since this is my first time viewing your channel my first impression was a immediate pause and a dislike cause that intro really blew my eardrums off lol. I'm not trying to be an asshole or anything just saying first impressions means a lot.
@@haxx1707 I completely agree. I just edited the audio to something else that hopefully isnt as loud but in post it doesn't really let me adjust levels that I can see.
we are broke broke pppl chat here
Thank you god bless!!!
9:01 noooooooo
Yeah I had read the paddles and dpads were back compatible and I just assumed the sticks would be too.
@@playtested2168 hey thanks for figuring it out for me before mine arrives lol
iGnashtys I was trying to find this info out for a while thanks for the info
cool
Personally I would get the series 1
Both are a good option and miles beyond the regular controller.
I’m rockin one of the Elite series 2 controller on my game streams on Mixer @ BRIMMER555
Are you going to give away the xbox elite controller? I can't afford it so I would very appreciate it
I will not be able to. I will have selling it in order to be able to afford the V2. We do give away gamepass codes on our podcast though. Game Pass or Pass
@@playtested2168 it's all good, thanks
absolute waste of money....jsut stick to regular controllers. They are lighter....and all of them are going to have stick drift eventually. With regular ones u can just get new one without worrying too much. All the gimmicks like software editing and paddles are just lame and don't really help in real game. CLunky and heavy af, with squishy buttons.. Bougth the Elite series 2 ....not too impressed tbh
I picked up the modded zone elite controller 2
I can have auto fire on everything
Lots of other mods on it
I'm a cheater lol
Lol at least you admit it.
Thanks for watching!
that killer instinct reboot was garbage stopped watching thumbs down for that this guy is clueless.
