This seems to help fix the no starting issue. The gauges still only work every now and then. But at least I can drive it now on a daily basis.

Obviously you get the check engine light on ? , because I have the same problem but I not have any code , I check the fuel pump pressure line and is good . Thanks for the video

Randy was driving that Green jeep home on Friday last week. She called me and said the Jeep just died. Fortunately it was in the neighborhood so I just towed it home. Change the crankshaft position sensor again, that didn't help no fire no spark so I changed the coil and it fired right up. Fickle things these Jeeps

Do what I do take your toolbox and torches and tell your jeep if you don't start ,you will never see the road again

Chuckles out loud..... we pulled all personal stuff out of the 07 one trip, there was a chance it would have a problem on the way home...

    Hi,
    I have a 97 jeep wrangler tj 4 cylinder
Was driving fine, stop got out, got back in went to start it and just turning over and not starting.
I have changed the crank shaft position sensor and still doing the same just turning over and not firing up, it also been plugged in and nothing coming up. Any help would be much appreciated please

One of the things we have encountered with the TJ is heat soak. If the fuel rail gets hot and then sits after shutting off it can cause it to not fire. If you try again after 40 - 60 min that might be the issue.

The crank position sensor was a perennial problem in all of my CJ Jeep Cherokees. Apparently, a solid state device in the sensor circuit would current saturate and lock up. solution was to unplug it, replug and restart. not readily done due to access.

We had pretty easy time with the CJs we had back in the 90s. 258 was a great motor.

I am having a same no start issue with my 97 tj. I have no spark and no fuel was that similar symptoms as yours?

For us the culprits were a couple of items combined. The fuel rail was heating causing a problem, and the fuel pump was not functioning properly as well as the filter had fallen off. Our 97 was sitting for about five years before we got it. Still researching some issues because there is a short somewhere. For now I just use a battery disconnect

Pretty sure I just joined you in the Jeep woes. Believe I caught a bad lifter/rocker on the Pentastar before it did damage. 53k miles on the clock. Unreal.
    I beleive this is where you trade the first consonant from a " J " to a " B". 😂

Its all part of having a Jeep. The joys of learning new stuff.
