I really like this video and like how you presented the good things about this digital piano. What do you think of this compared to the Roland FP-60X? I noticed the 60X has a mic input which could be good. I would like to have drums or rhythm. You mentioned this one has speakers on the bottom such that the sound can bounce off the floor and I like the sound of that. Looks like this higher one has speakers on the top. Any thoughts would be very appreciated.
Good entry level digital piano. Finally Roland got it right by pricepoint and quality. Usually Roland overpriced their products with low speakers, 22 W and L & R output and Bluetooth, Roland get their mistake right(they actually listen to complaints in older models).
Hi Jeremy, thanks to your review I bought PSR E373 for my son last year and very satisfied with results. My son's piano skill and interest improve rapidly and his teacher said his skill is above average kids. He loves classical music and techno. Now he needs 88-key piano to pursue his passion in piano especially classical music. Should I buy this fpx30 (600usd) or kawai ca901 (2800usd) to support his piano journey? The reason I consider kawai is because I'm afraid that his skill will grow rapidly and we have to replace it with the new one again. He said he wants to play as good as LangLang.
Great review thanks! Can you confirm if the FP-30x can record in audio as well as MIDI, either to the USB or through the USB-device cable? Roland's specs and user manual are very vague about this
I bought yhe fp30x and i am so glad. But for some pieces its to hard to make a clear voice because of the weight or escspment. İdk what to do because on a normal piano fingers run more quick abn soft.
Love em I have 2...the only problem I have is the piano samples don't sustain as long as yamaha when you hold down a chord..but I'm definitely a Roland guy I also have an RD08
I just got this piano as a bundle with an X stand. Love the piano, the stand… not at all. Then I watched your video on stands and got the Liquid Stand🤗 Both perfect for me😁 Thank you Jeremy!!

Hi Jeremy! Thank you so much for a good review. Which one do you prefer if you were to chose between Roland FP-30X, FP-60X OR Kawai ES520? Would be very grateful if you were to answer!
i had a yamaha clp 735. I really loved it, but it was much more expensive than the roland fp30x. After years of having the yamaha and less and less playing time, i decided to sell my yamaha epiano. after 2 months i realized that im gonna need another one. But i didnt want to spend much money. At first i looked at keyboards, but assumed i would be disappointed by the key action mechanic. so i decided to take a look at the cheapest models like the yamaha p45. after much research and watching severall videos, i found the roland fp30x (i really like yamaha still, had a look at kawai, but after the reviews i thought lets give roland a try). so i bought the roland fp30x on my own. out of the box the piano sounded tinny, but i usually play with headphones. so after pluging them in and making some adjustments, the tone was really nice (even though i dont hear thaaaat much difference in tone at the piano sounds). the key action is really really great. i think you wont get anything better even in the price range till 1000 euro/dollar. the piano sounds are really good, but drop off a lil bit in comparison to the clp 735 (but its more of a personal position). the midi connectivity, the polyphony, the bluetooth connectivity and the key actions are really really great and way above the price of 650 € right now (its the same key action as in the roland fp60). the sounds are good (but not great if you ask me). and the menu is a little bit annoying. a little display (even only numbering for the voices) would make a big difference and a volume knob instead of this press down to volume up or down. but over all i think you wont get any better epiano for this amount of money. if you are a beginner and you like the piano voices, buy it. its a no brainer.
Hi! I am about to start my piano learning and after several reviews I am undecided between the Roland fp30x or the Yamaha P225. The Roland is the option that most appeals to me, but I am concerned that I have seen several people reporting some "clicky" sound problems. Should I ignore this and go for the Roland?
Happy CNY! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this model! This is the model that I consider these few weeks... You really clear some of my doubts :) Can't wait for your video on the flaws so I can make my final decision hahahahaha!! What a good YT channel!
Waiting for drawbacks video. I'm also trying to figure out if the difference between 30x and 60x is worth additional 350 Euro (ie. more than 30% price difference in my country)... I know 60x has more features (a lot more actually) but the keybed is the same, paino sounds are pretty much the same and I'm not sure if I really need more... One thing that is useful for me is built in audio interface (which I think 30x has anyway..?)
every company that sells digital pianos tries to upsell you. Just look at the prices and model ranges. It's salesman psychology 101. Go the store, start with the cheapest piano available, focus on what's important for you. Imho, sounds is most important cause my hands can get used to less than perfect action but sound has to be as good as it gets. Use your own headphones if that option is important for you. find the cheapest digital piano that meets your demands. They all have gimmicks taht are pure marketing. be it the polyphony, or the 10 pianos (which 8-9 always sound like sh*t), or organs and strings, which hopefully nobody ever uses.
I had the Kawai. The key action is very light and allows for very expressive playing with excellent dynamics and a very good sound. What I didn't like is that the keys are also very noisy.
If we play with our eyes closed on a rp 701 and a fp 30x, will you hear a big difference in sound quality when the technical sheet is identical? If it is to pay more because there is the price of the furniture, I choose the 30x. Does my reflection make sense? Thank you and sorry, my English is very bad.
Hi Jeremy, Thanks for all your videos. I’m in confusion to buy a Roland GO:Piano 88 or FP 30X I want to play in the church so should be midi connectable to Mainstage and I need the feel of a real key so I just need your advice on it if you can help. Thanks in advance 🙌🏻☺️🙌🏻
Hi Jeremy, thanks again. I bought yamaha P775 based on your recommendation a couple of years ago and I'm very happy. Now I'm thinking of buying FP30x and just wanted to know if it's still the best in its category and price point. Please reply ASAP. Dying to buy this one today itself. Thanks!
Just had a little go on one of these at a music shop on the way home from work and it sounds fantastic. I’m now at home and I’m going to ply my better half with alcohol before telling her I m about to spend the best part of £700 on a new digital piano.
What is the type of cable with use from output roland to mixer/soundcard..? Is the balanced cable/stereo, or unbalanced cable/mono..?? Please help me.. Thanks..
Hi Jeremy, I'm planning to upgrade to fp30x. But I wonder if I could use the fp30 stand and pedals on fp30x. You see, in New Zealand we have to pay extra $200 each for stand and pedal separately plus shipping. If the old stand and pedals work, it will save me some money. Thanks
Hi, Jeremy! Many users have complained that the sound in the headphones on the FP-30 is too quiet. You are using Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Tell me, please, how does the FP-30x sound in these headphones-quiet or loud enough?
Hello Mr. Jeremy, in my country the casio ctx 700 is available at 142 usd and the cts 300 is available at 130 usd should I buy the ctx 700 for more functions and memory setting, features, etc or should I buy cts 300 for pitch bend, dj mode, etc. Plz reply Jeremy.
Very nice review Jeremy.. This digital piano is one of great value. I would like to see how it compares to the kawai es110 [ in terms of action and sound ]
Thank you for your kind compliments. Kawai DPs are poorly distributed where I am and Kawai HQ marketing team does not have a working relationship with me.
Hey man, how much touch responses does it have ? 3 or 5 ? Light, Normal, Heavy ? or like Casio privia psx3000 it has 5, Light 1,&2, Normal, Heavy 1&2 ? Are u playing using Normal ?
In my opinion , much like how the ES8 has been replaced by ES920, the ES110Kawai model is due for a refresh. It's about 3 years old already. If you absolutely want a kawai, I would suggest waiting for them to release the new model.
If I buy this piano, is it sufficient for me to finish the grade 3, 5, or grade 8 exam?In my city, teacher/people claim that this is just for grade 3 or below. Please advise.

I was looking for a used spinet, but soon realized the drawbacks of the heavy instrument. I live in an apartment, this is the best of both worlds. Your review which blew me away. This is a great next step for me, thank you for your reviews.
I'm an intermediate level player and i've always played on an acoustic piano. I don't care about the portability or the appearance. Do you reccomend the fp-30X, the Casio psx-1100, caspio psx-1000 or something else? Thanks!
I really like your videos they're very informative especially to somebody who does not know how to play and looking to buy something for somebody who does know how to play like my
Sounds nice Any way you could review the Fp60x, thank you in advance.
I ordered it through your link to Sweetwater, I hope you get credit for the sale. Thanks again. 🙂
Thanks. So helpful. Didn't know about the none dampening on higher register. Would love to know your thoughts on fp30x vs fp60x
I would love to compare the FP-30X vs FP-60X but I am not a piano shop and have to buy all the pianos I review as Roland doesn't want to give me access to review units.
@@JeremySee those 30 day return policies are a god-send my friend lop
I had no idea bout the lack of damping in the higher register. Thanks for the info. I might have to learn the piano one day.
Happy to help!
Wow! Great news! Thanks for the tips!
Impressive detailed analysis and attention to detail Jeremy. Job well done my friend. You have a new subscriber!
i just bought it..i have compare with yamaha p45, p125, casio, yamaha dgx 670, and roland fp10..i choose roland fp30x because the keys is the best than other mentioned..the keys near accoustic piano..i use piano only..
Amazing Review Jeremy!! I think Im rooting for this one
sounds very good to my ears..all the best Jeremy..regards from UK..anothr very good review
Thanks for stopping by buddy
Great review, this is so helpful, thank you!
just bought it based on this review, thank you!
That is my dream Digital Piano. But, as a PWD, I have no enough money to buy.
Same here bro😑
Acoustic uprights are going for free due to the digital market these days.
Thanks for a good review. Beautiful playing too.
Still worth it in 2023, considering the support for the app stopped already?
Great review thanks! Can you confirm if the FP-30x can record in audio as well as MIDI, either to the USB or through the USB-device cable? Roland's specs and user manual are very vague about this
How is the weight of the keys?
This video helped me to finally decide which piano I should buy.
Thank you very much!! 😊😊
Glad I could help!
Glad I could help!
Where is this stand you are referring to ?
Great video. I'm ordering the fp 30x later today
Thanks for the upload! Would you recommend the Roland FP-30X or the Korg C1 Air?
Thanks Jeremy. What would you choose between this and the Yamaha P125?
Just preordered this today!!
Lucky! Have fun.
i really enjoy the escapement feature!
Just bought one in white. Love it.
Lucky you!
Great video. Might buy this
Congratulations on hitting 1 lakh subscribers
Thank you so much 😀
Oh! My pleasure!
I am your all time follower. Because of your invaluable free advices, I bought my very own keyboard which have all the features I need. It's CTX 870 IN !
“Lakh “ ?
Has anyone tried the p225? Do you like the action more on the p225 or the fp30x? Thank u!
Yet another "poison". 😍 Haha. Very tempting! Thanks for the great video.
i prefer clavinovas in terms of sound...modeling just doesnt do it..but its a nice piano at a great price...and it has blutooth midi which is a plus
The keybed is different on this though
Jeremy Can you help me please? I am so unsure i must decided between Roland fp90x and Yamaha P 515!!!! Bye from Sicily
Hi.. good piano review 😇😇👍 I am planing to buy a digital piano for my daughter. There is only two realistic choices here in my town. Roland RP501R and Roland FP 30x. Which one would you suggest? Thanks in advance .🙏😇😇🙏
hi @Jeremy See, my wife wants to learn to play the piano, and I have been looking at your piano reviews. I'm thinking of either getting the Roland FP-10 or the Roland FP-30X; should I just go for the FP-30X or buy the FP-10? Can you please advise? Thanks, Juan!
Great video!! Thanks for sharing 😄
🎹🎹🎹🎹I am looking to get an entry level keyboard such as a Yamaha psr E463 or a Casio CT 3000 to play live. Which one will enable me to make the quickest program changes on the fly in live situations? 🎹🎹🎹🎹
Hi. How would you compare this model to the Roland FP-30 and the Kawai ES-120?
You really clear some of my doubts :)
Can't wait for your video on the flaws so I can make my final decision hahahahaha!!
What a good YT channel!
Thank you for your kind words!
I feel like you should also post song covers and generally content different from just fear reviews.
I’m in the same situation. Very hard to decide. For the sake of 350 all you get is a nicer interface, more sounds and a slightly better speaker.
every company that sells digital pianos tries to upsell you.
What do you think about Kawai ES 110?
I had the Kawai. The key action is very light and allows for very expressive playing with excellent dynamics and a very good sound. What I didn't like is that the keys are also very noisy.
Hello, Dear Jeremy. I have a question. Is that possible to add sounds as acoustic guitar, violin, saxophone to the Roland FP 30? THANKS..
Do this piano produce a very qentle and subtle hum from the speakers when turned on?"
Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for all your videos.
I’m in confusion to buy a Roland GO:Piano 88 or FP 30X
I want to play in the church so should be midi connectable to Mainstage and I need the feel of a real key so I just need your advice on it if you can help.
Thanks in advance 🙌🏻☺️🙌🏻
Too bad it isn't available yet in the Philippines. Still going to get Kawai es110
Then wait.
I was gonna get it but my local music shop delayed my order by 5 months! Now I have a dgx 670 arriving in 2 months.
There are limited options here in the Ph. Some digital pianos are not even sold here. Some costs way too much, yamaha p45 costs 800usd here.
Balikbayan box?

Hi Jeremy, thanks again. I bought yamaha P775 based on your recommendation a couple of years ago and I'm very happy. Now I'm thinking of buying FP30x and just wanted to know if it's still the best in its category and price point. Please reply ASAP. Dying to buy this one today itself. Thanks!
Very nice demo. Very interested in this specific model from your other review videos.
Just wonder what it does in the quarter? Ha! Many thanks.
Just had a little go on one of these at a music shop on the way home from work and it sounds fantastic. I’m now at home and I’m going to ply my better half with alcohol before telling her I m about to spend the best part of £700 on a new digital piano.
Hope you get lucky!
Now the proud owner of one. If the other half asks the price was more like 400-500 😉
@@TheWinners84 how do you like it after all this time? i’m looking into it and would love to hear what you think! :)
What is the type of cable with use from output roland to mixer/soundcard..?
Is the balanced cable/stereo, or unbalanced cable/mono..??
Please help me..
Thanks..
sir please solve my question .
Roland fp30X vs Yamaha mx 88
which one is best ?
i want piano for learning also and performing also.
Hi Jeremy,
I'm planning to upgrade to fp30x. But I wonder if I could use the fp30 stand and pedals on fp30x. You see, in New Zealand we have to pay extra $200 each for stand and pedal separately plus shipping. If the old stand and pedals work, it will save me some money.
Thanks
Yes! FP-30X uses the same stand and pedals as FP-30
I’m really stuck between this or Yamaha p125……
Hi, Jeremy! Many users have complained that the sound in the headphones on the FP-30 is too quiet. You are using Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Tell me, please, how does the FP-30x sound in these headphones-quiet or loud enough?
Loud and clear on my headphones. 😉
Hi , Mr. Jeremy ! I wanted to know your opinion on the roland Rp 30 if you please .

Question about the left pedal. Is it a una corda like a grand, or a soft pedal like an upright piano?
Very nice review Jeremy.. This digital piano is one of great value. I would like to see how it compares to the kawai es110 [ in terms of action and sound ]
Thank you for your kind compliments. Kawai DPs are poorly distributed where I am and Kawai HQ marketing team does not have a working relationship with me.
Good request. Same here ;)
thanks for the explanations..
Hey man, how much touch responses does it have ? 3 or 5 ? Light, Normal, Heavy ? or like Casio privia psx3000 it has 5, Light 1,&2, Normal, Heavy 1&2 ? Are u playing using Normal ?
The Kawai ES110 or Roland FP-30X ?
In my opinion , much like how the ES8 has been replaced by ES920, the ES110Kawai model is due for a refresh. It's about 3 years old already. If you absolutely want a kawai, I would suggest waiting for them to release the new model.
If I buy this piano, is it sufficient for me to finish the grade 3, 5, or grade 8 exam?In my city, teacher/people claim that this is just for grade 3 or below. Please advise.
Is the extra 250 worth it over the Yamaha P45?
Wish I could afford it
