- Talk about real world about problems!! John decided to trade his 2019 Model X after it crossed 100,000 miles. He ordered a Lucid and thought that it may be a long wait to get the vehicle. With extra cash he had on hand, John purchased a used 2022 Mercedes EQS with 3400 miles on it to fill the void. As "luck" would have it, Lucid informed him that his vehicle is coming much sooner than he thought. Now he has to decide whether to sell the EQS or the Lucid!

I saw the Merc here in Toronto its ugly . Tesla is absolute Crap in side the interior . Just not a good place to be . Lucid Air ' is Much Better EV car . Lucid is 900W technology !!! Lucid looks Luxury . Lucid looks Stunning !
When it breaks it'll cost $20,000 to fix.

i like how he commented about not needing to go from 0-60 in under 2 secs. i feel the same way. getting from point a to point b is all that matters to me and i don't have a need for speed. i have to consider the other motorists on the road and i'll always consider their safety when i drive.

A couple of things. But first: Thank you to the owner for sharing his time and thoughts.
1. If you leave the car on without driving it, it will automatically turn off after a few minutes (5-10).
2. The car reminds you that it is on when you open the door (Ready written in green). It also reminds you to take your phone if it’s paired with the car.
3. It looks like he likes the dead stop mode. He can turn on “creep mode”. The car will creep forward like an ice car if your foot is off the break. He could also firmly depress the breaks to get it to hold (hill assist).
4. He is a fun car guy. It’s refreshing. I think he would really like the fully equipped version of his EQS. Which I have to say can be gotten for a lot less than he paid for this one. MB is trying to capture market share and is running some really good promotions. We are talking $30-40k off at S level.

@@Waldorf9651 So true. My remark was actually not meant to be a criticism to the video(series); I enjoyed John's journey through EV-land! My remark was just to highlight what I find is perhaps the most distinguishing feature of the EQS. I love the Mercedes level of detail that you will find in almost everything in the car, especially in the ambient lighting feature. I just LOVE it! I still drive a 2019 Tesla Model S company car, but will switch to a new car soon. I have been having my eyes on an EQS or EQE as its replacement. However, European car prices are around 50% higher than in the US because of the heavy car taxes, etc. So, I am trying to get a feel for the land. Your video has helped me in that... @@fransezomer - Zero offense taken. I did another video of the SUV version of the EQS. It was a nighttime shoot, but in a parking garage. The EQS is nice - I enjoyed driving it as well. Again, thanks for the follow up good luck to you and I hope you get what you want! Be safe.
Friend of mine had a Mercedes & it was one of the best riding cars I'd even experienced. But my issue with modern MB is the reliability, I don't hear good things. So to invest in an electric, or even worse hybrid MB, would be unthinkable for me. I'm wondering if this would be a concern for others too.

I have a MB CLK 2008 with original factory warranty and it has been the most reliable lowest cost to operate car of the 8 vehicles I've owned. Not to mention the luxury or sporty AMG suspension and wheels, most fun car - don't hesitate!

I have had 4 MB and including a Newer one and I have had no problems with any of them. They are exceptional cars.

I sold my Tesla X after three year of use, it was a wonderful car but Now i have EQS 580 ❤❤😍😍 oh man i really love EQS more than Tesla, it is the best EV in the market now. if you sale the EQS for Lucid 👎👎 you really going to regret man. Don't sale the EQS
well said about the Plaid. Plaid is great engineering marvel. But I would look to Porsche or MB. I love Elon and the company, just not the product design.

8:00 tesla is so inaccurate with its distances
Kinda like getting married after wedding cake all bets are OFF lol.
TESLA is the only EV with a charging network and volume production therefore its the only EV worth buying. LUCID will be lucky to exist in 5 years without major borrowing.

I don't understand how you can forget to turn your car off. These are probably the same people that forget they have children or pets in their car. I blame the automobile manufacturers because they're making it to where you don't have to think about starting or turning your car off. Are people just too stupid to remember to do these things anymore? I'm sorry but some of the technology in these cars just don't impress me.
@dspates51- Hello! You and I may have grown up in the same decade (my teen years late 70's/ early 80's) because I was thinking the same when John said that to me. However - I do understand where he's coming from. You may know I too have a Tesla and there is no "on/off" button. The drivers seat is activated when it feels the weight of the person - thus when I get in, I have to punch in a code and when exiting, I just get out. The car turn off. As far as technology in cars - it is the wave of the future and I try embrace it. Speaking of technology , I grew up in an era when the phone was connected by a wire and hung on a wall. Just push five buttons and talk to someone. If my parents would be alive today - or come back from the dead, would they embrace Apple or Android phones? Thanks for watching my video. @@Waldorf9651 you're right. I'll be 62 in three months. I don't have a problem with technology but the things you're talking about just isn't practical. As a consumer I think it's our responsibility to tell the manufacturers we don't appreciate being told that we're too dumb to figure out how to start and stop a vehicle. Just because they build it doesn't mean we have to like it. Some things don't need to be improved or in this case reinvented. All new technology isn't necessarily good technology.
By the way I work at the plant that builds the EQS. It's a fine automobile that's fun to drive!
One last comment. I'm a retired Navy submarine veteran so I know a thing or two about technology.
