Theres a shortcut to Liurnia if you go straight pass the overpass before making it to the first boss, so not too bad to get to him. it's actually one of my first places to go when I unlock reduvia for my somber stones.
Hum, I haven’t killed him and my bell bearing shop has all the stones including 1 and 2. Maybe I missed something in your video but from my experience you in fact don’t need to kill him to access those specific stones. You probably missed a cave or a quest somewhere
