Love the little touches....
They show his feet....someone in high heels and stockings walks by...they switch back up to a head shot and it's a guy walking by (?)....
Dag takes the door handle with one hand out in the hallway, when he's in the room he's opening it with the other hand....
Lots of work went into this to make it so entertainingly "shitty"
Why does a child have a room in the hospital when it's his dad who is sick? There's so many layers here.

I love that, for all the levels deep they go with Richard Ayoade's character, he just ends up playing Richard Ayoade... so he basically is just putting on the truth.

2:43.... Dagless just walked into the corner of the office just to set up the self-worshipping dialogue of Sanch and Thornton on the desk giving card puns. OMG I love this show. The door is behind him so he'd just be there looking at an office plant or something O.o

Love the part about lending her money for coffee, when of course the break room coffee is free. It's a running joke that they keep "lending" Liz money for coffee.
The scene splice at 2:07 is brilliant.

I like how you can see in Thorntons eye a white light, as if he is reading off cue card.
6 episodes doesn't necessarily mean failure over here, especially when this was made, which was a few years ago now.

Yes a quick rinse around the key areas isn't as good as a shower but it's a lot better than nothing if you're pushed for time I get that.
Garth Merenghi's Dark Place was what Doug Walkers DEMO REEL was trying to be but failed horribly.
What is so funny about Thornton is that he seems to be the head of a hospital, but not a doctor or medical practitioner of any sort himself. He acts more like a frazzled middle-manager of a factory. Is Darkplace even on the NHS?
He used to be a surgeon according to the final episode, but yeah we never actually see him do anything medical related, he acts like he’s the chief in a police drama

Why this didn't take off with the Brits amazes me. This was a hilarious series, great concept, but it ended too soon.
I have to watch this with subtitles. English is also my first language.
there is a tendency to cut great shows while keeping mindless shit like all the soaps and bigbrother on air. it is very puzzling.
Because everything has to appeal to every demographic possible or they won't finance it.
Wasn’t it also pretty expensive to make since they used a bunch more affects and technology to make it look from the 80s? That’s I least what I heard for why they cut it..

I love Dark Place but I also feel like one series was enough. I think the premise would have started to run a bit thin if it had gone on for a second. I don't think I would remember it as fondly if it had been milked to death like so many other shows/franchises.

Check out some of the Snuff Box clips like the Boyfriend montage, the 'restaurant' clip and the guitar lesson. They're hilarious as well. I found that by chance. I had no idea they even made it.
Dean's dialogue in this scene is probably the best written in the show yet also the worst delivery (which says something).
