He's got one coming out in October called "Incarcerat" that continues the story from Terrortome. He's also planning on releasing another sometime in 2024. It's a really good time to be a fan of Garth Marenghi. Loved the pretentious little fella since I first saw Darkplace on Adult Swim back in 05/06

Garth Marenghi is a lot like Alan Partridge in that they're both such well realised characters, you could probably construct a comedy where you're deliberately trying to be unfunny and it would still get a laugh.
This is really nostalgia about a show which had faux-nostalgia as its main comic premise lol. "How great was that dark horror show from the 80s, oh the nostaligia! Fake out, its not real!" Now here we are going full inception on the thing getting all nostalgic about an ACTUAL amazing show, well played sir!
The audiobook of Terror Tome is a MUST for anyone who considers themselves frisson coinesseurs. (this passage is from that, just replace the turducken with an even scarier antagonist)

I was in a battery changing situation with a lady once. It was one of those square ones with the +ve and -ve points on one end. She didn't realise you need to flip off the little rubber stoppers covering the points before installing. I calmly explained this to her without making her cry. And then there was light.

HOW have I only just found this. Darkplace, ironically, helped me through a very dark place in life. I watched it so often to this day I am confident I could recite 90% of the script.
I'll never be able to sleep again without a light on after hearing this. If life were fair, this book would be turned into a major motion picture. Horror fans would forget they ever heard of The Exorcist.
I kind of wish they made a movie of Terrortome... But... Uhm... Not joking here... The imagery in that book ... Might be a bit too graphic for unknowing audiences. A truly unfilmable masterpiece, in the truest sense of the word.
Reassuring to see that after 436 novels, the man has not lost his edge. Truly terrifying.
I am surprised Russell Howard is introducing Garth, especially after he wrote about the Placenta that attacked Bristol.

Out of the more than 400 books that Guy Marenghi wrote, this is definitely his most recent.
I'm currently reading Terrortome, it's hilarious. I've never laughed so hard reading a book. Matt/Garth should definitely do another one.
