A moment of appreciation for the genuine badassery of Great Whites. Seriously powerful beasts, incredibly intimidating, yet majestic. Incredible creatures.
For Truth Ehh, not exactly a misnomer. The first great white discovered was found washed ashore on its back, revealing its white underside which gave it its name.
I remember clear as day watching it when it first came out in 2006. I was 10 years old and I'll never forget my me and family's reaction. No one had ever seen anything like it before. Ever. The shot at 2:09 is a landmark in the history of film.
The dreadful music still haunts me today. I was 6 in 2006 and just finished watching Jaws as well. It’s the reason I find Sharks really interesting and another reason I fear the ocean.
All these American shark shows try to capture it, but they add dramatic fast pace music, the grace of this shot, the lone violin as this apex predator just hovers in the air... i really feel God's presence.
This was true back in 2018, but the footage of the blue whale shitting out 600 litres of fluro green poo is now the greatest single footage ever recorded in the animal world.
I remember watching this for the first time. David Attenborough's voice was so calm and soothing and was almost putting me to sleep, and BAM! The sight of a great white shark propelling itself out of the water shook me to the core!
scary thing is you wouldnt know what hit you they can swim up to 40MPH and they always attack from below that picture of jaws emerging from below is the very accurate they emerge like a missle from the darkness below you wont see a fin coming at you AND YOU wont punch it in the nose and escape this isnt afucking movie it real damn life and these sea demons despite what these so called "EXPERTS" tell you BECAUSE the truth is they don care if your a seal they dont care if your a human and they dont care if your a can of tuna they just see a meal it all taste the same to them i am not trying to scare you i just dont want you to be a victim Because you remind me of my self your commet structure and what not i just dont want you to Find Yourself FACE2FACE with a great white because i cant imagine how horrifying that would be where every second feels like forever
They don't actually eat humans everytime they see one If you encounter one don't do actions that will provoke the great white Short answer: Don't be a seal
Remember next time you are swimming in the sea, that Great White Sharks can swim at speeds of 35 mph (while humans only swim 3 mph), and they can be 25 feet long.
When I heard these big boys migrate I was terrified.can you image seeing something like this in the distance on the beach. While it would be really cool but I wouldn’t get in the water the rest of my vacation.
One of the most spectacular scenes ever shown on TV, the making of tell us even more, shot at 1,000 frames a second, played back at 25 frames a second, the harness stopped the camera from wobbling with the waves, amazing
@gregfisher978 Of course not. Killer Whales rule the sea literally. Not only are they much larger , they are also much more intelligent and roll in packs. So intelligent in fact that they learned to flip Great Whites upside down to immobilize them while they target their liver. Great Whites will literally leave the area if they detect Orcas nearby. Even still the fact that Great Whites can launch seals that weigh that much into the air like a ragdoll is a testament to how powerful they are. That's why I stay out of the ocean lol. I have no business being a potential victim of something that powerful. I watch sharks happen and have heard of people being decapitated. Or having their whole left side of their body (heart, arm and all) completely bit off by a huge Great White. So hell no I'm good lol.
lala The majority of shark bites are accidental or are provoked. Sharks do not hunt humans as we are NOT a part of their environment. Why must you people perpetuate stereotypes? If you look at the statistics, there have been only 6 incidents per year over the past 400 years, and very few have been fatal.
Great Whites attack humans more than any other shark species. Also the number of attacks increase as more humans are now swimming in the sea. Btw, they can swim 35mph underwater, while most humans swim 3 mph.
Actually seeing this in real life would probably be both the most exhilarating and terrifying moment of my life. Just thinking of a huge Great White jumping clear out of the water gives me goosebumps.
The power of Nature captured in a outstanding manner by some very professional photographers. Excellent addition to the BBC Earth's massive library of videos.
Just because they report FACTS that don't fit your narrative, doesn't mean that they are fake news. And don't say "oh, so the same thing applies to CNN" because it doesn't. CNN lies to push their narrative.
The sound of the violin 🎻 if I’m not mistaken is a true compliment to his performance along with the slow motion effect…real life action scene right there.
The force of a great white shark hitting a seal is 10 times as great as what a fighter pilot feels in terms of g forces, i bet that seal was either in shock or completely lost consciousness immediatley.
Survival of the fittest doesn't even matter, they don't even see it coming but smell blood in water. The whole series is amazing "Planet Earth". Get it, you won't be disappointed.

There is one cameraman who usually works with Attenborough, I forget his name. He deserves an Oscar. No-one does nature documentaries like the BBC.
For Truth Ehh, not exactly a misnomer. The first great white discovered was found washed ashore on its back, revealing its white underside which gave it its name.
That last shot of the Great White fully breaching the water is easily one of the best pieces of wildlife footage ever recorded.

Sit under a tree. You're generally quite safe from attack by great whites.

Considering seals can grow between 6 and 8 ft long and weigh between 300 - 800+ pounds these sharks are immensely powerful.

BBC is amazing. They spend so much money to capture these types of moments, and then post them online for free for anyone to watch.
BBC is publicly owned (taxpayer funded) so it HAS to be free to the public, and also ad free.
