This footage was mind blowing. Big ups to the film crews who managed to capture this
On blood
@jamesmackenzie3262 no way they could get a stable footage if the camera was attached to a seal
They (BBC nature programs) are known to insert CGI so one cannot take anything they show at face value.
i hadn't thought of how the filmmakers attained such awesome footage but i adore the courageous seals who literally went headlong into a deadly situation
some of the best camera work ive seen in a long time. holy hell - great job.
The cinematography, both underwater and above, was breathtaking. From the sharks explosive acceleration at 1:03 to the seals chasing the shark away amazing.
Cgi
l would've sworn for a second the underwater footage was CGl. Amazing stuff.
BBC makes the BEST documentaries for sure. Check BBC Planet Earth series if you haven't seen it
@@american_cosmicIt is CGI
The shark looked like he was being escorted out of an event for being unruly 😂
😂😅😂😂😂😂
youtubers when they get followed by 30 mall cops for having a camera
Not too far off!
So true . Mr Shark also looked to have a chip on his shoulder :)
"Sir we're gonna have to ask you to leave."
Strength in numbers at it's best, a true life lesson, and side note, I hope David lives forever ❤
Bad news, pal - he certainly won’t.
you just had to be that guy, eh@@RichieC135
And also in a way he will. His voice will go down in history, to be enjoyed by many many generations to come. And noI 'm not referring to an AI voice copy 😉, I mean because these documentaries will show a time when nature was still thriving. That will be valuable forever too.
When your food fights back.
I’ve seen some videos where it seems his voice has been closely reproduced by AI. Scary, but somewhat astonishing in the potential for continuance.
1:03 is one of the coolest things I ever seen. The speed of the sharks acceleration chasing the seal and the seal reacting and escape. Unbelievable.
that motherfucker was gangsta
At 3:07, I can just hear the seals shouting, "AND, STAY OUT!!" 😆🦈
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂✌️✌️
Since being a child I’ve always been mesmerised by seals and the way they behave in water.
So gracefully agile!
What a phenomenal shoot and production! Thank you!
Yeah you couldn't ask for a better display of how seals use their much tighter turning radius to defeat a shark's charge with a quick loop-the-loop maneuver. The shark's mass and speed force him to overshoot, and he kind of does an underwater skid forward. Then he loses his turning momentum as he manages a half turn, much slower than the seal, and sees that it's useless as he plows to a stop with the seal already swimming away behind him. It's incredible to see how nature sets up its battles based on subtle differences like angular momentum
If the shark simply turned around I think the mobs confidence would go.
finally a seal person and not a i love great white wannabe hypocrite. 🫵👍
@@highthai7no the mob would just turn around also. what it really needs to do is bite one but it cant because it doesn’t have the area and depth to accelerate. and with so many seals it harder to lock on to a target.
It’s CGI
Is anyone else blown away by how clear the water is? Some of the most beautiful great white footage I’ve seen
funny thing about polution? most ov it is made by humans... remote part of the world. not many humans thus nature remains.
This is pretty average IMO. Check out this channel if you wanna see high quality Great White footage. Very cool footage! www.youtube.com/@TheMalibuArtist
Have to agree, with that amazing white sand too, looks like an aquarium, almost too aesthetically pleasing.
I love how the seals said not today and gangsta up on his ass he knew to leave he had a few clear bites but didn't take em because they have bwen known to eat the eyes of white sharks
It didnt look clear at all but dark smh.
Sharks vs Seals= "The cosmic ballet goes on."
Forever and ever 😊
“Does anyone want to change seats?”
These seals are so brave and stoic in facing the danger.
The seals are jackasses. They are basically like dolphins who like to bully greatwhite sharks. The shark is minding its own business. Leave the poor Greatwhite shark alone.
@leonsilver6946
Minding it's own business? Did you miss the part where it was trying to eat them?
Now if only the penguins could face up to the seals
@@AltMusicFan15😂😂😂
@@Chef_Alpoif she seals could face the orcas, they definitely can they just don’t understand they should stay together
The seals: "Why have many small fish when we can have one big one?? At em boyz!!"

Respect and pay raise for the camera man and the crew that captured this amazing event.

I'm amazed on how they get this footage! Absolutely immaculate capture!
It’s CGI, not real footage
@@Str8618 It's real footage. Take then tinfoil off your scalp.
@@BalrajTakhar-u7u Imagine being so dumb you thought that was real footage 😂 it’s not even good CGI
@@Str8618 Sure, and we're just going to believe that this would be broadcast for the whole world to see on a major reputable network, as if there aren't experts of all types who specialize in either marine biology, media, or technology who would be able to deduce right away that this is fake.
@@anyaw340 If you thought the shot at 2:13 was real footage, you don’t need to worry about any experts 🤣 you’re too far beyond help
An absolutely great video of an unreal phenomenon. I wouldn't believe this without seeing it.
It’s literally CGI
Planet earth 3 is gonna be a big w
Stunning! Seeing is unbelievable .. truly so. Changing situations force organisms to adapt. Behavioral flexibility & intelligence is one of the answers, instead of simply falling into victim. How did BBC come to find such an extraordinary moment!!! Thanks is not enough.
And you presumably think the seals are intelligent and flexible and the sharks are dumb and primitive and unable to adapt? Because this video only showcases half the story.
@@bkjeong4302 the comment was made based on the footage only.
I'm not so sure if "stupid" animal exists as you say .....
"Primitive" means sharks have much much longer history with that bauplan. One of the greatly successful creatures on this planet! Amazing, isn't it?
@@bkjeong4302Slow your roll; the guy/gal said nothing of the sort. If this is a new phenomenon and it continues, there's a chance the sharks will change their hunting strategy as well, to try to counter the seals' defenses... It's really like watching evolution in slow motion. A similar situation has already happened in Africa: there's a group of 5 male cheetahs that have been filmed hunting and living as a group. I'm not sure if they're still together but the scientists observing them made it sound like it's become kind of a regular thing for those 5 cheetahs which also normally live solitary lives (minus a bit of mating) like Great Whites. It's incredibly interesting.
The camera work and editing are flawless, David's not bad either
It’s CGI
@@Str8618 ok, captain obvious
I hope Sir David Attenborough lives another 100 years he’s the best❤
Wow! That's fascinating! Nature can truly be amazing. Our crew got on camera another moment where nature surprises you. We saw baboons that created a pact with lions so they live at the same spot but don't get eaten by the lions. In return, they attract prey for them.
Wow! What doc is this on?
More like pretend to be on the lookout and use the trust other animals have in them so the lions can eat them instead
That must have been an interesting contract negotiation...
.it's called cgi you simpleton
As a guy that loves fishing very often i see a seal that lives close to where i fish...she is coming all the time to check as out to see what we are doing and goes away ahah! Whatching this gave me chills how these creatures take on their biggest enemy to protect their family its amazing..even the shark was hambled and just and didnt even try to hit back...Great shots amazing video!
Orcas also hunt seals. I saw something recently about them showing up in S. Africa coastal waters and the Great Whites moving away..
Anyone think that 1:45 is one of the most eerie things you've ever seen? Just teeth suddenly coming into view from the murky depths and it being slowly backed up by an absolute tank of body that just wants to eat.
I never thought I will feel sorry for a great white shark… Thing looked terrified at the end.
The shark: “Nah, ill just come back tomorrow when they ungroup 🤷🏻♂️”
So nice to see seals stick up for themselves. In almost every Documentary they are the ones being chased and eaten

War between seal and the shark 🦈
This seals out here risking their lives to safe a homie and I don't even have the courage to talk to my crush properly smh.
I'm so glad I grew up with David Attenborough and not tiktok!!!!
I love it when animals come together to save or rescue or help their other animal friends that alone shows how smart some of these animals are they have to make a conscious decision to help which means they have to also realize that there’s a problem and or danger in the fact that it’s all of them and they all understood what they had to do and they did. It was amazing.
Attenborough about the great white : „most notorious predator“
Killer whale: „am I a joke to you?“
The key words being "most notorious", not "greatest". The killer whale just doesn't have the reputation the great white has.... probably helps that the average person loves it and fears the great white, which is unfortunate of course. ^^;
As far as maneating proclivities are concerned, the saltwater crocodile would easily put the white shark to shame.
Only because crocodiles also exist on land and close to shore where humans are, and where sharks cannot go. Most humans killed by saltwater crocs are in 3rd world countries, where people have to fetch water, bathe, or work in croc-infested waters. It's just humans getting too close. Humans are less likely to be killed by sharks because they keep mainly to the open ocean, were you will not find many humans.

Imagine going to your kitchen to grab some lunch, and a crowd of Lunchables just starts following you around.
Amazing footage, wow! ❤❤❤ Those seals 🦭 worked extremely well together! Tfs BBC 👏🏾
I'm so glad they're figuring it out.
An individual can't bully a mob.
They are not bullying they are eating to survive just like seal eating fish
Don't apply human behaviors to animals. Bullying serves no purpose other than to hurt someone. A shark is just eating. Every animal has to do it. A shark is not a bully just because it's big with sharp teeth.
It's like a flock of chickens chasing a kid in the yard.
Wow! That was unexpected!
Wow, exactly! I haven't seen that before.
This clip reminds me of those land scenes from your Africa clips where the lion hunts cape buffalo and the buffalo realize that one or two lions can actually be made to run scared if the entire herd of buffalo turn on the lions. Awesome camera work!
Big respect to the divers getting this footage….
My guess is the footage is being captured with underwater drones.
@@brianh5844Can the guess be confirmed?
@@saintjabroni I'm sure it could. What I wrote was pure speculation though :).
Blu-ray behind the scenes footage shows that it’s a mixture of drones and cameramen.

Even in nature brains can win out over brawn.
At some point the sharks are going to try the same thing using their new numbers, and there will be a Shark VS Seal war.
BBC film crew really maxed out with this one. Made it feel like that Avengers scene where they had sorrounded Thanos. 😂
It really feels like they’re evolving faster than we thought,
Shark was skimming like “I dare one of you mfs to touch me.”
Hopefully humans can learn from this...there's WAY more of us then there are of 'them'....
Who's the "them" in this scenario you speak of? We are ALL humans. The "them" is probably based on your own biases.
The photographers are amazing
Coming from the combat special forces side of things, this can happen literally in any situation in combat, especially in unconventional warfare so its completely arrogance to think the comventional hunter cant be the hunted.
Cgi helps, good old fashioned propaganda, sure you know all about that.
Not surprised by how blown away I'am by ALL your Doc's. Thank you BBC! Another masterpiece!
UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. It's the philosophy of those seals when facing a lone great white shark.
Power and safety in numbers.
The Underwater, action shots tho💯💯
seal together strong
This has to be some of the most impressive great white footage I've ever come across. Dream job right there
Seals together strong
Its crazy to think that even for an apex predator like a great white. Hunting and eating isn't easy or even safe. Imagine if all those seals started attacking his gills. It could be game over for the shark.
It's not an apex predator, killer whales frequently seek them out for their delicious livers.
@@Luton-Mick killer whales hunt in packs, sharks are solitary. It's easy to hunt in numbers against one.
Everytime the bbc make a nature documentary we learn loads of new animal behaviours. Amazing.
South Africa 🇿🇦
Seals: YOU AIN"T FROM ROUND HERE BOIIII
Is it Robberg Nature Reserve? The area off the coast of South Africa-- we've seen a lot of seals there!
Mind blowing stuff. I would love to go on an adventure and film this kind of raw behavior. BBC documentaries are 2nd to none.
Is there anyone else who wanted the seals to FINALLY have their " get back " and eat the shark ?
"The world's most notorious predator", I guess someone forgot to tell the seals about that distinction.
My dad was a dairy farmer killed by 60 head of cows in a similar situation. They later turned on the rest of the village and were running the place for 2 weeks before the military got called in.
Epic. Epic behavior.
This has to be the best Great White footage i've ever seen
It's little wonder mammals are amongst some of the most successful animals today. Intelligence and working together in social harmony to achieve great things.
shark just casually swimming unimpressed
Fun fact: The San Francisco Bay area has had two nhl teams, the San Francisco Golden Seals, and the San Jose Sharks
Hi from India
😂
nature is just incredible
The greatest living narrator, and a permanent inspiration. What if we all joined forces like the seals and took Sir David Attenborough's advice to work collectively towards education and conservation. If the seals can overcome their sharp toothed challenger so perhaps could we.
«Stronger together» 😊
We need more of David Atternborough....
Incredible. Just how a bunch if seals can scare away a great white.
Great white sharks are so fascinating!
"When sick of being bullied ENDS!"
This is how you defeat a corrupt government ✊🏽
That really is amazing!!
I have never seen something like this... How things very unexpected can turn out to be more than unbelievably difficult 😮
We could see the sharks underwater then. The seals keep them calm and distracted LOL
I love how the shark casually glides out of the scene with a chip on his shoulder, and not looking remotely intimidated by the mob of seals following closely behind. Saying that, I am sure the Seals, given the chance, could've caused the Shark some damage. All those hundreds of teeth nipping at his flesh wouldn't have felt good. But when all said and done, the shark is the boss here, and will be back for more revenge. It's the Ying Yang of the natural world. The shark has to eat, but the seals obviously want to save themselves.
When your food fights back.
Memories of crying at the screen as a kid, always wanting the prey to escape.

The footage is incredible!
I thought sharks & killer whales were intelligent, but now I found out the seals are even wiser, as always well narrated by sir David
Poor guy was just an overgrown fish trying to get some food but the whole block ganged up on him

Pretty sure the only reason the shark left was because his mom was calling him.
