It's a beautiful locomotive with some great features. Scale Trains is putting out some really nice locomotives. I have 3 Scale Trains locomotives on pre-order, looking forward to when they ship.
I have the Wisconsin Central version of that locomotive. They look fantastic. I model the Soo Line and recently bought 3 sd40-2 scale trains models in the Soo paint scheme. They are pricey. ( I’m never going to be able to retire at this rate). lol
They are really nice. I feel that spending the money for the premium products is worth every penny. If I bought something less, it would just be wasted money because I'd hate it. I want a white/red Soo Line geep. As soon as one is available I'll grab one. I was watching a Charles Smiley video on TH-cam a few weeks ago and a Soo Line locomotive was in an SP consist in Los Angeles! I thought how does a Soo Line locomotive end up in LA? As soon as I saw that I wanted one. I've been retired for 6 years. Other than some medical issues, it's been very enjoyable. You'll get there, but you need to have some fun on the way. Get the locomotives.
Appreciate the review, and a mention of an electrical arching problem in a previous production run. Question: Is this a problem with other Scale Trains locomotives as well, or just the EMD SDL39?
As far as I know the arcing issue is just with the initial release of the SDL39. But there was no arching with my model. I don't think there was a second run, they may have fixed the problem mid run. I appreciate you watching.
Dang! That's a real beauty! So many working details, great running. 🧡🖤
Great review, thank you for this!👍🏼
