For anyone that may be interested, in my 2017 SS I averaged over 30 mpg EASILY on highway driving (100 miles +), a few times 32+ checking with calculator. City driving obviously not that great (16-18 mpg range), but more or less I was averaging 26 mpg on 3000 mile oil changes on computer monitor for the duration I owned it, 3 years ish.
This is facts. I drove it from south texas to north texas and i avg up to 34 mpg at one point when i tracked my last 50 miles. Its really good in touring mode when you go the speed limit
Just an update: This summer my 2SS 1le finally came in. I've put on a little over 1000 miles and I'm averaging 23-24 mpg. The majority of my driving has been aggressive to say the least. It definitely drives differently than my '17 SS non 1LE, I attribute the majority of that to the obvious track focused setup and much more aggressive tires. One thing to take note of: non 1LE camaros have a higher top speed due to greater aero downforce on 1LE cars. That translates into more wind resistance causing the car to expend more energy/burn more fuel. It's simple physics. The greater the wind speed the greater the resistance, exponentially I believe. I wouldn't be able to tell you if that's significant or not at normal driving speeds, but it is a simple fact people should be aware of.

Hey dudes, first of great review. There doesn’t seem to be any other YT reviewer who makes as many Camaro (1LE) videos like you guys. You really seem to love this model, too. And I also can’t remember anybody else saying there ain’t no visibility issues in the Camaro’s cabin. Pretty bold statement. You’re right, I guess. I’ve driven a lot of German and other European sports carsmany times for long day trips like the Audi R8 V10 e.g. and nobody would ever complain about this point and make it an issue. It’s always the other way round like sporty cabin etc. There are other things I’m wondering about, maybe you could answer this… If the LT1 engine can be set to permanently shot off the MDS or if the Camaro’s steering and chassis really are that superior to those of the Mustang (Mach1 Sport/Track mode). Boiling it all down, which model would you prefer/recommend and why: Camaro 2SS 1LE or Mustang Mach1 Premium HP - putting the major price difference of more than $12k same spec aside?
Yeah our dealers get a ton of 1LE cars! We do like these! But were so used to driving so many cars, R8, 370Z and Supra all have smaller windows. So to us, this is nothing. But if you poke your mirrors out a tad, it literally eliminates blind spots. A Porsche race instructor bought us that trick. So any car we drive, set the mirrors the right way and you have no blind spots. ;) From what I've seen the 1LE is a small step up in performance and handling to the Mach 1. Both are really solid choices tho. But the Camaro is a bit tighter and lighter on it's toes. Mustang has better practicality. So it's a matter of do you want extra practicality or extra handling.
Most people don’t know this (idk if it still works but it does for my 17 ss) if you’re listening to music and slide your finger from the right side of the screen all the way to the left it moves the music to your cluster
It doesn't take a lot pressure to push it. I usually have my right hand near the base of shifter. I repeatedly bump it which changes the setting down from Track to Snow/Ice mode, or from Sport to Track.
2020 I believe is when the exterior got a facelift, so minor changes with that, interior is pretty much untouched. Haven’t been in a 2016, but it should be similar.
I’ll never understand how the mustang outsold these cars by DOUBLE. Mopar outsold both but they have had more commercial success (rappers social media etc)
They outsold Camaro because GM wasn't allowing allocations, at least in Canada. We didn't get many allowed up here at all. I ordered Two, in 2022 and 2023...and both were rejected due to no allocations from multiple dealerships.
This car is surprisingly luxurious: it has Heated and Cooled Electric Recaro Seats with Memory. I thought Camaros were pure sports cars, but to my surprise they now compete with BMWs (except the price).
@@BrosFOURRSpeed That's what I was thinking.. and I'm not entirely sure the upgraded exhaust has 4 outlets either, which IMO looks much better than dual outlets.
This car handles so well, but GM made two mistakes. 1. They gave the CT4-V the wrong engine 2. They gave the Camaro SS the right engine but the wrong body (interior and visibility). If the Camaro was a scaled up GR86 (similar visibility, interior) it would have been a no brainer and I would have bought one. The 1 LE the most track ready car under 50k on the market. It's not much fun to drive around town though due to the visibility (feels like a bigger car than it is) and long gearing. Price is also reasonable unlike the CT4V
What’s wrong with the CT4V BW engine? They have the 5V if you want more power. The GR86 isn’t much better with visibility and the Camaro has a nicer interior in my opinion. I wouldn’t say visibility is an issue because I own an R8 which is worse and it doesn’t bother me! But depends on the person. Also why do you compare this to a sedan?
@Bros FOURR Speed the 4V engine is fine, but it's not clear why they went that way Vs small block, which sounds better, is simple, makes similar power and torque and has a long history of reliability and support. I'll take your word that the visibility is something you get used to, but I have spent a lot of time in Mustangs and it seems a lot better visibility wise (handling of Camaro is better). The sedan comparison is probably not fair, but both the upper Camaros are cross shopped with the 4V, mainly as they are GM cars in a similar price range and can fit at least a kid in the back
@@sunnyvalentino I agree mustang visibility is slightly better! But a lot of companies have certain restrictions now so they have to comply with those, could be a reason!
@Bros FOURR Speed yeah man. Truth is, I wanted to love the Camaro but just didn't fall in love with it, and probably trying to explain it away. Lol. Appreciate your work and the comments too. I do love the 4V though, it's soooo nice (and great visibility), but it's craaaazy backordered
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Because if someone actually cares for these numbers, they can freeze the video and see them all at once; otherwise you need to go back and forth with the progress dot.
Hey im getting this car soon I’ve never driven a v8 before and I want to know everything I’m in store for I’m getting a 2023 Camaro ss I was going to get the Zl1 but I feel like I should start small
I mean a V8 isn’t starting small, but if you drive it like normal, there’s nothing special to it. Once you start to feel comfortable you can slowly start to accelerate harder and go from there. It’s not an intimidating engine, but if you go too big too quick it could be. Just have to feel it out.
Totally agree. We made a whole video on that a few years ago. Lots of people have issues with Camaro visibility. Still hard to look around compared to others since the windows are small. But with the mirrors poked out a tad I don't have issues either
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I think it’s just a sport car thing I’m not used to it usually no matter the weather if your driving with the windows closed and no ac running it gets hot right?
The back seat is so scrunched because they narrowed down the C pillars and pushed out the wheel well and this in turn also made the trunk small. It's just a horrible design but I like the wheels and the front lights and the rear tail lights. But just think about how much further the side c-pillars could have been pushed out if it was a rear hatch instead of a trunk. Then the interior would have been more roomy particularly in the back seat. Also note how the navigation infotainment system is not integrated into the dashboard. They basically bolted it on. And notice the position of the air ducts in the dashboard they're way down low like they didn't integrate anything into the dashboard for some stupid reason I don't know.. I think they were cheaping out. The engine seems nice but time will tell. We also thought the LS7 was a great motor I mean the assembly team was putting their signature on the engine like it was some beautiful work of art but you know what happened to the LS7 just do a little research. So here's a good question for you I wonder if GM ever fixed their rear end whine problem? Been making rear differentials for a long time, like 100 years and post 2000 they couldn't seem to make a rear differential they didn't whine. Like the ring and pinion wasn't lined up properly. I still say they need to make a modern day IROC. You've got to wow the people like they did in the late 80s. And it needs to be slightly more practical. The tires and engine is unnecessarily large and it looks bit too mean, too loud, too obnoxious, and attracts too much attention in a bad way.. Like dont leave it parked anywhere.. I prefer cars that are NICE and not so much "look how tough I am". That's the wrong group. And they actually did tone it down. They made it smaller, and less bulky and it got NICER when they did that, and fixed those horrible tail lights.. Amazing ain't it? That's what I mean, NICER , not Meaner. Follow the Corvette and reduce the 455 and put in a 350 + electric helper. It will be faster than 3.0 sec 0-60. Nevertheless, it is what it is.. This 2023 Camaro is pretty much the peak of this model, I mean retro model. So let's get rid of the retro crap and make a modern day IROC. But of course that means they would have to run it at the international race of champions and that might cost a few bucks
Rear seats are comicaly congusted I was wondering if they were all midgets in all the seats 👀 they might find it good enough as driver got tinny legs move the seat all they way forward and maybe modified seats so as to bring em up and further close to the front of the car freeing up space at the rear it's just a funny weird picture in my head 😁
If you own a Camaro, you don’t need friends in the backseat.
Why not? If you need an extra seat it’ll work fine!
Nobody’s ever been in my backseat, shit I rarely have passengers

Most people don’t know this (idk if it still works but it does for my 17 ss) if you’re listening to music and slide your finger from the right side of the screen all the way to the left it moves the music to your cluster
That’s interesting! Next camaro I’ll check that out to see!
bought it!!!
Nice! One of the best Camaros out there!
0-60 in 3.5 seconds? Isn't that for the ZL1?
I found between 3.5-4 seconds.
Does it have adaptive cruise?
It doesn’t!
Oh no 😢. Kind of a requirement if it doubles as a daily and track car.
Yeah some cars have it as an option
I love this car
It’s a cool muscle car!
Good review David Spade
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
The Mode button needs to relocated so it is not accidentally pressed.
That would be hard to accidentally hit! But it wouldn’t do anything while driving, it just helps with throttle response.
It doesn't take a lot pressure to push it. I usually have my right hand near the base of shifter. I repeatedly bump it which changes the setting down from Track to Snow/Ice mode, or from Sport to Track.
So.... Did anything at all change from the 2022 to the 2023???
Not really! Minor cosmetics is about it!
Any differences between this and the 2016 and up ?
2020 I believe is when the exterior got a facelift, so minor changes with that, interior is pretty much untouched. Haven’t been in a 2016, but it should be similar.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed not to be rude, but why get the 2023 and pay the depreciation ?
@@snowflake4656 for someone who wants a new car! And those minor updates. Just depends on what someone wants.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed benefit would definitely be knowing no one ran it on low oil or any other awful practice. Congrats on the car man, it’s awesome.
@@snowflake4656 That is true! And I didn’t buy it lol, just doing a review 😁
I’ll never understand how the mustang outsold these cars by DOUBLE.
Mopar outsold both but they have had more commercial success (rappers social media etc)
How can the mustang outsell mopar and mopar outsell it?? Mustangs are a lot more popular for sure! Not sure why that is.
Hi bro…..Is this comfortable for 4 people in family???
No! Like I mentioned, you don’t buy this for a 4 seater, it just happens to have back seat if they need to be used.
Is this from Randy Marion Chevrolet in Mooresville, NC???
Yea that’s the dealer!
اقدر اركب المكينه والجير على الباترول ؟
Just curious if this specific model has sport tuned exhaust or if it's simply just the dual mode. I sure miss my 2017 SS!
I believe this is just the dual mode. The 1LE could add a different exhaust, but I think it's just the dual mode!
I have the 2016 2SS, and I love it. But it's kind of crazy that it's basically the same car as the 2023.
Yeah this generation hasn't really changed. Solid car tho!
I sure miss my 2016 2SS. Best all-around driving experience of any car I've ever owned . . .
Im gettn this car in 3 months
Very cool!
so sad the muscle cars are going away. i wish i could own all of them!
We'll see. Mustang still has a V8 in the 2024 model, and the Camaro is still here despite every year people telling me they are discontinued
Is this the best package? I still like 4 doors i think. Id rather have a charger. Top speed sucks
It’s a good package for the 2SS, I can’t say it’s the best, depends on what you need!
1000% nicer then the mustang and a better made car and I'm a mustang owner.
Camaro is a solid car for sure! I'd pick one over a Mustang too lol
0-60 in 3.5 seconds,are you mistaken it with a ZL1?????????
It’s 3.5-3.8, in that range! Just as quick!
Can't wait to get mine in vivid orange. Does it come with hands free phone use and over head speaker?
Cool color for sure! That will pop! Yeah they pretty much all have bluetooth
I bought one in vivid orange two days ago. Really cool unique color!
@The guy congrats 👏🏽. Mine still hasn't been accepted by GM. But it's only been 1 month since I put my order in and submitted it on 1-10-23
awesome car! will this be the last year of camaros?
I don’t think so! I’ve heard people saying that for a few years! They need to compete with the mustang!
Great video! One note: if you mention many numerals (like car dimensions in the beginning) it would be better to write them on screen as well.
Glad you enjoyed this video! But why would that be important to do?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Because if someone actually cares for these numbers, they can freeze the video and see them all at once; otherwise you need to go back and forth with the progress dot.
@@dimitristripakis7364 I could see that, but you’re the first person to mention that, haven’t seen a demand for that to be listed out.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed It's not a big deal, the video was a breeze to watch anyway.
One thing, the sun roof deletes the inverse Mohawk, which looks cool.
Yeah I guess it would change the lines in the roof
I’m trying to get one. I barely see these anywhere in dealerships💔💔💔
Yeah the clock is ticking for a new one now that they are gone!
@ brother, it’s so tuff. Even used ones, there isn’t that many to choose from now. 🤦🏽♂️ especially the spec I want.
I'm sure people are holding on to them now!
That exhaust is stock 😮, time to get rid of my 2015
lol yeah the SS 1LE sounds good!
My dream car but in black 🖤
Hey im getting this car soon I’ve never driven a v8 before and I want to know everything I’m in store for I’m getting a 2023 Camaro ss I was going to get the Zl1 but I feel like I should start small
I mean a V8 isn’t starting small, but if you drive it like normal, there’s nothing special to it. Once you start to feel comfortable you can slowly start to accelerate harder and go from there. It’s not an intimidating engine, but if you go too big too quick it could be. Just have to feel it out.
“19 mpg in the city”
Me in my 22’ Camaro 2SS w/ 14 mpg city at most: 🤣 B.S❗️
What Chevy states and real world always differ!
Sill don't like the goggle tail lights.
I think they look pretty cool!
My 21 1le 6speed isn’t limited to 165 if I heard that right and it’s all stock haven’t done anything to it
Interesting
Lights change when go to sport and shi??
What?
SS 0 to 60 is 3.8. 3.5 is the c7 stingray
It’s 3.5 for the auto and 3.7 for the manual!
adjust your side mirrors correctly and you won't worry about blind spots
Totally agree. We made a whole video on that a few years ago. Lots of people have issues with Camaro visibility. Still hard to look around compared to others since the windows are small. But with the mirrors poked out a tad I don't have issues either
I seen the same car in orange/black 🖤🧡🖤🧡
Sweet! Nice color combo!
you should've also show how the ambition lighting would look like at night to give it more style tbh, but all the more it's a beautiful vehicle.
I don’t have that flexibility with a dealer vehicle.
You realize these been out since 2017, basically unchanged since 2019 right??
Yeah I know that, I never said it was all new.
Hey man I got the Camaro rs LT1 v8 on my driver side it gets hot and steamy after getting off the high way and long rides you ever heard such a thing
Weird. Maybe your air vent is pushing hot air?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah l feel it coming through the driver under the pedal area
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I think it’s just a sport car thing I’m not used to it usually no matter the weather if your driving with the windows closed and no ac running it gets hot right?
Cool r20 disci
What is that lol?
6 years and the interior has not changed a bit...and chevy wonders why its last in sales
Yeah we'll have to see on the next generation!
It's 2 doors for a reason them backseat don't need to be there
It also has them to make this a more functional two seater. If it’s your only vehicle, they may come in handy.
you do see a lot of sunroof on coupe ... if u get a coupe without a sunroof... please bring it back .
Personally I’d never use it, so I’d be completely happy with a coupe with no sunroof, like in my current R8 lol
@@BrosFOURRSpeed coup with no sunroof are so dark and dingy.
I guess I like more natural sunlight in sports car ..I myself never used it either I just like to keep the screen's open
@@MyChocow Not for me, everyone has a preference..

Not in a brand new dealer owned vehicle lol, I can do that in my own car.
Love the car soooo muchhh. But the sun roof just ruins it
bro..thought you were gonna blow through that stop sign.....
Where? I always stop at signs, or slow down to barely a stop like everyone else does.
I have a feeling midget or short people in general might find these seats good enough 👀
What? I’m not sure why you have that as a comparison. But everyone is different on how they feel and fit in this car.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed take that rhetorically 👀
@@watchmeallthewhile It doesn’t make sense though because tall people can find the seats good enough too..
Wow i just realised this might actually be the first channel I saw till date replying to all of the comments amazing guys 👍🏻 keep it up
