- Today i discuss the new Omega Aqua Terra with the Black Lacquer dial.
I think this watch now competes with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Explorer and Datejust.

I think you should still go to a boutique and try the 38 in black once they're available. Chances are it's gonna wear smaller than the white one, because of how colors work.
I’ll definitely be back there!!
Cold Pizza Watch Reviews - I think your crazy.😀 38mm looks just fine. I also have a 6.5 inch wrist and have an early 2000s, 39mm Omega AT with a black dial - I love it. One point you may not have considered though is that white dials tend to make watches look bigger and black dials always make watches look that bit smaller. Good luck with your decision.
Thanks!!
38 is too small when you are a man
@@mrnk7911 41 is still too small when you are a man
you need at least a 43
@@bruder-hq3ko i wear a couple of Breitlings 44-45 which is perfectly fine. But for Omega 41 is perfect. My opinion
I agree with the sizing, 36mm is a goldilocks sizing for wrists under 7 inches. Rolex kept the 36mm explorer in production for a reason
Totally agree. They need a 36mm model. Omega used to make Aqua Terra in 36mm
It’s not really a “one and done” watch. If you’ve ever seen the Aqua Terra Shades collection, which has the same case, it is almost completely polished and not brushed. Scratches easily, super blingy, and not suitable as a versatile sports watch. The black dial teak model with brushed case is more of an all-rounder. Wish they had this dial with the brushed case
I just hate the polished centre links.
My first Aqua Terra (first generation) was 39mm, and also had a black lacquer dial. With a black date window. So they made the perfect one and done many years ago
How do you review a watch without having it in hand?
Pathetic isn’t it 😂
This black watch will be perfect for you, even at 38mm. Firstly, it’s black (white always looks more significant). Secondly, due to the more polished dial and bracelet, it’ll look much more suitable. Lastly, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 wears bigger than this Omega at 38mm. Unlike the Rolex Explorer in 36, the Oyster Perpetual 36 is and wears bigger. The Oyster Perpetual bracelet, unlike the Omega, doesn’t go straight down!
Additionally, the Omega is more round than the Rolex, thus… you get the idea. Think of it as if the Rolex is 1mm bigger and Omega 1mm smaller, so they meet! However, the Omega (this one, not the teak dial) is mainly polished, making it way more dressy than the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, which is not polished at all!
Lastly, I immensely enjoyed this video and will look for more.
Thanks!
I’ll definitely try it on!!
It’s a must have!!! Omega!!!
I don’t have an Omega and this really hits a sweet spot for me. That said, I own a GS SBGA467 and it’s so close to the same overall look of this Omega. Oh well.
Great vid 😎👍🏼
Eyeing for one next 😊
38m is fine , the black dial will make it a tad smaller too
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see mamacoo work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of mamacoo's watch 99% of people will never see.
The first gen. Aqua Terra was available with a black lacquer dial ,l still have one ! Brushed case polished bezel and a brushed bracelet which l prefer .
That's one of the most underrated watches ever. And it looks so much better in person with that dial and rhodium indices. I have one but with a silver dial. I still think about the black one though.
I think you need to consider that the Aqua Terran actually still IS a part of the Seamaster collection, so needs to have a clear and clearly visible housing by image.
I think Omega is trying to morph it into a classy sport watch which I’m completely fine with
@@coldpizzawatchreviews That's probably the case, and then the next generation Aqua Terra should be even more refined so as not to end up in no man's land and be neither a utility watch or sports/every day watch. Having said that -the Aqua Terra Black Lacquer Dial is a DANG good looking and elegant watch!
it is awesome watch!
I would definitely get the 41 one for my 7 3/4" wrist size.
They will definitely do the 36" like in a year or two
Does ‘definitely would’ actually mean you definitely won’t?😂
@@alfieakaronaldog Oh defiantly would of course would, but just the cost... for now at least
@@eurocraftccr I guess we just have different definitions of definitely.
Just tried this on tonight in 38 and 41. It's stunning up close and polished within every inch of its metallic life. I really feel like pulling the trigger!🤣
Would probably have to pay full retail at the moment though because it's new.
Really enjoy your channel. Personally, I much prefer your OP over the aqua terra. It’s all about the oyster bracelet for me. Just a step above
Thanks! I love my OP and wish Omega would make a Aqua Terra in 36mm
38mm looks fine on you. I personally own the white dial 38mm that you have pictured and it’s fine for me. I have 6”
Likely a taste thing but I don’t think that you would feel that way if you had got it and worn it on a regular basis.
I have the 2023 Aqua Terra blue dial and felt it was top heavy. I changed the strap to an Artem sailcloth strap and it’s much lighter. For that kind of money they should have put it on the T-fit glide lock. I’m done buying watches without it. Grand Seiko has the same issue. My gmt GS lacks it
Yep I agree it feels very heavy
Omega will be competitive if they can shave 2mm off the thickness
@@lihanou and how thick is the date just ?
@@pkasimis about 1.5mm thinner
@@lihanouwhich is a decent bit on the wrist
The 1st gen ATs were thinner, perfect proportions.
I think they used to make a 36 quartz AT with lacquered dial. Looks awesome. I’ve got a 36mm OP for my 6.5 wrist and the size is perfect. This reminds me of the 39 Rolex Explorer. I was called in for the watch after being wait-listed and rejected it. The dial looked oddly disproportionate; too much vacant space. Of course, Rolex went back to 36 with the Explorer. Shame Omega made this odd choice.
You totally omitted the bracelet and clasp 🤦♂️ what kind of review does that?
34 mm with a more feminine shape, unfortunately. I would have prefer 36mm, that's the way to go for a dressing piece.
EXP 36 wears 34. My wrist 6.5 too and Exp 39 wears amazing. So, on 6.5 - give 38 AT a chance.
38 is a bit big for me,and the 34 unfortunately looks completely different.
Love omega.own one.why didn’t they do this 10 years ago.they obviously had the tech and skills
Pretty sure the website says the hands are rhodium plated not white gold.
Nobody has it in person yet? Only photos still...
it's not necessarily the 6.5" circumference of your wrist, more to do with shape. if you have pancake shaped vs more round wrist, you might be able to pull it off.
Good Planet - one and done
The problem now are the sizes, 38 is too large to be unisex, the 34 is too small to be unisex. They needed a 36.
I agree with you, the 38 is just too large for many people.
38mm is perfect size for 7 inch wrist … period
I was between the Aqua Terra and the OP41.
Chose the Rolex. And now I'm glad I did. No silly polished centre links, it's worth more now than when I bought it, and I only waited a couple of months. I admire the AT, but it needs a fully brushed bracelet.
It fits ok for you.they can’t cater for everyone nro
It fits ok for you.they can’t cater for everyone bro
Explorer 36 > This
All day every day
The 2mm micro adjustment is meh tbh. It makes a gap between links which is awkward.
Is it only 2mm extension?
@MikoTheTomCat yeah, its dog water tbh. My wife has the same adjustment on her 36mm metas constellation. The gap looks trash, but the overall watch is sexy. I only paid 2950 for it so I cant be mad. If I paid over 5K though, Id be pissed.
@@TheBrah808yeah fair enough. Still Omega should do better. Same with their Moonwatch comfort clasp. It’s 2.7mm which is nowhere near enough. Hence why I sold it.
You’d have to have absolute rocks in your head to choose this omega over a Rolex Explorer. That being said, it’s a nice watch but all of the polishing kills it.
Agreed. Explorer 36 is much nicer.
omega is the best
😂
No
Rolex is better
@@MikoTheTomCat Absolutely. Omega's fan boys are so pathetic.
Really like this, but I would never 6600$ - this should be max. 5k$
That 38 looks too big on your wrist.
Thanks! I knew I wasn’t crazy
They won’t discount for 12 months on a new release bro
Too much polish on the case, and that micro adjust is clumsy. 😢 Fantastic dial and best movement under $10k. So close and yet so far.
You can easily pull off that 38mm - looked great on you.
The 36 OP looks way too small on you.
All dat mamacoo watches sssssoooooooo gorgeous!
No PCL for me. My 2503.80 (first iteration blue 39 mm, brushed) looks better.
Between this nice omega and a rolex op i prefer the rolex, but its just a personal opinion, the price is almost the same ,so the only thing realy different its the avalaibility,no wait list for omega and in my rolex AD shop they ask me minimum 8 month for the rolex..
41 is the only option for men. Low beat movement and still very bad clasp.
“Most people consider this to smoke Rolex’s accuracy”. Who are these people and are they aware that Rolex has tighter tolerances with an equally robust movement? I get the need for the click bait thumbnail, but that comment was silly. I’ll bet on any Rolex to keep just as good, and likely better time.
38/45/12 too big? Interesting.
More accurate than Rolex? Despite worse specs
Well at least it has on-the-fly adjustable clasp...oh wait.
I owned both omega and several rolexes with movt 3235 , I can confirm omega calibre 8800 is more accurate than rolex , but other calibre may not be as accurate as rolex.
@alanalan4935 Also own or owned several of both. No matter how you slice it, 5 secs per day is worse than 4 secs per day. Rolex also has higher beat rate and power reserve.
I don't like Rolex, but no 1 has dethroned their ability to produce world-class movements.
@@sdiver68 imine is not +5 seconds per day, it is +1 second, I bet then you have not owned any omega with 8800 movement yet. Only this one movement is better than rolex.
Not a fan of the completely polished case.
60 hours of power reserve is not good enough. A luxury watch should have a minimum of 70 hours. That watch doesn’t fit you. You would not be happy with it.
13+ mm thick for a 3-hander? What a joke.
Watches are not too big for people.......people are too small for some watches. No one ever says that.
?
You people with tiny gentlemanly wrists....For me 41mm is barely large enough.
Aquaterra’s are a mess of a design IMO.
So what if it's better than rolex, why must you compare.. Just talk that particular watch.. Stupid video clickbaits for views
The new black dial is nice. But if you are offered an OP and the Omega, you are going to choose the Omega? Let’s keep it real.
Yes, yes I am going to choose the Omega.
If you couldn’t see the logos, you would be choosing the AT over the OP
Let’s be real
Yah I might agree …the 38 size is perfect for my 7 inch wrist for starters
For some of us, not being a Rolex is a feature, not a bug.
To each their own!
Choosing the Omega.
yaaaaa but show the shit, insted of just bla, bla, bla
I have to say that #amzwatch 's watches is amazing!
I believe no man can say no to #amzwatch
In Toronto canada I buy a super super clone I bring it to a rolex expert he say it was real rolex . Unbelievable. Your super clone look just like mine. You a expert but a regular person like me will never know. Imagine on mamacoo
