But the glas has to be specially designed for huge pressure because of the water and it will be hard for someone to do that under water. Think about swing a hammer under water and then hit a window that's nearly unbreakable😋

I love watching these old videos and hearing James say something like "We don't even have terrain editing tools." Always makes me double take and check when the video was uploaded. Weird to think so much stuff was missing from the game for so long and how everyone just found a way around it.

I mentioned this idea in a later video once he got back but I wasn't early enough for people to see it and like it to become a popular comment... You try and you get better over time, and not watch others build houses and then steal ideas. That simple
I've been building Sims houses since the Sims 3 and trust me it was usually an entire day affair. It's fun but it takes a lot of time
people keep on saying "practice", but if you really arent passionate about something, dont waste your time.

It's kinda like art :) you keep doing it over and over, and you enjoy it, and you get real passionate about it, but it does have it's problems...
What I really love is how you put so much detail into children's bedrooms, like they don't even fit exactly into the aesthetic of the rest of the house because they're full of realistic and intimate childhood belongings
They should also put in full glass walls in the sims. Or at least full glass windows that take up the entire wall.

Squidneythe Squid, No they don’t, you have to place multiple windows and you can see the frames so it still looks like a bunch of windows instead of one glass wall.

I’m getting my masters in architecture, and fun fact lots of schools were designed based on prison designs for a period of time. New schools usually aren’t but in terms of what schools need, they are pretty similar to prisons (classrooms/cells, cafeteria etc.). The high school I went to was based on a prison as well.

James 6 when you started....wow...I started at 21 back in 2001 still going strong with the sims but TS3 will always be a fav because we had so much creativity which is when I decided you are one of the best builders out here.
So... the people in the pool can watch through the windows... into the bedrooms..........

Anyway, I made my house in the sims 4 recently, and I'm so happy with it, it's only slightly not accurate because you cant build walls on half tiles and some of the rooms are in that weird half tile area
It's funny watching past videos and listening to you asking for stuff to be fixed/added and see that 4 years later, we still don't have them! Like the pool table or the roof glitch!

@@SaturneKx no kidding! I was at work and a coworker of mine read a label which said "highly viscous" and when she mentioned having to wear protective gloves, I asked why. She said that it says it's " highly vicious" and might eat through her skin. When I pronounced the word correctly, I told her it simply means it has a high viscosity, she stated, "I don't even know what that means!". Finally, I told her that it's very thick. She still was concerned about its vicious nature.
I've asked a few people at work to pronounce the word and asked them if they knew what it meant. Apparently I'm the only one. 🤔
Let's also mention that other people dont know how to say "trash can liners" and say "linners"... which they thought was the actual way to say it. Illiterate much?

This is by far, the best sims 4 house you ever made! Although, if it was in real life, it would be really unstable because of how much water the basement has to hold above itself.

15:24 The 'woodeny vibe' you've got going is very classic Midwest/Northwest American. At least, that's what it looks like to me. All the warm lighting, rich darker wood grains and white trims. It's like every middle class family home I ever saw growing up.

I agree, it's super fun building other kinds of buildings like that. I built a courthouse pretty recently. It was hard, but it actually turned out fairly good, if I do say so myself.
I was going to say, "Hey, James I also played Sims since Sims 1." until you said you were 6 in 2000. Then I thought, damn I'm old... I was 16 in 2000. By the way, this has got to be one my favorite house that you've build.

I know you made this video a while ago, but right now I'm on a Sims3 binge, so when I can't play it I'm watching TH-cam building videos, and you are now my favorite TH-camr. You're an amazing architect and I really love listening to you talk. What really struck me in this video was the coffee thing because EVERY SINGLE TIME i play Sims, I make myself coffee and then I forget that it's there and it goes cold. Hahaha
