Love how simple but complex your builds are. It's no lie when we say that you're the best Simmer on TH-cam/in the whole world. I recall you saying in your last build something along the lines of how you don't really do extravagant builds and how interior design isn't your best ability, but the way you turn simple objects, like those rock benches into mountains, and are able to take a tiny space and turn it into a fully-functional and pretty much furnished living space while still adding decore objects totally dismisses that. You really have that "less-is-more" quality to your builds and that's what makes them so amazing!
TL;DR: you make "simplicity" and something you feel isn't your best quality into something so freaking amazing and extravagant!

Imogen Burnett I think he'd need more Japanese inspired objects in order to do that otherwise it'll just look like a regular modern house. I'm sure there's a bunch of japanese custom content, but I doubt James would download them since the people who will use his houses will be forced to download them in order to use the house.

Love this idea! Maybe if you ever do a bigger one, you could make it very modern and white? Like some millionaire wanted to build his mansion on a cliff side or small mountain? (That way they'd be "above" everyone else) :)

*How about a "Zombie Apocalypse Fort" build?*
You know, something where the entire lot is designed with defense and survival in mind, things like walls, some trees and shrubbery to disguise the place from being visible for miles, maybe a moat, a garden for food production, and a fortified house?
The real challenge would be to make it both excellent for long-term survival in a zombie apocalypse, and yet still aesthetically pleasing and cozy.
You know, I believe James actually did that in a previous build. If I remember correctly, it was called 'Secret Garden' either that or it was digging down.
Hate to discourage you from making a suggestion, but I am just saying this matter-of-factly. Sorry if I offended.

I love when people get creative with those rock tables! I've seen other TH-camrs use them for lakes and waterfalls and I just love how realistic it looks. Building a house on top of them is an amazing idea. Very nice build!

This is awesome but ok, enough tiny builds! What I would suggest is a community lot with Art Nouveau/Jugendstil architecture like you would see it in many historic european cities like Paris or Vienna. I think "vanilla" Sims already offers a good platform for that kind of architecture with those wall ornaments that are in the game.

That's a cool idea, maybe on the huge lot on the Windenburg island. I think Windenburg is the residential world where this kind of build would look least out of place.

Which packs are the "best" ones to get depends on what you want from your game, but personally I have Dine Out, and I just got City Living. I'm not planning on getting Get Together or Spa Day.
Get Together is good if you really want the clubs (which you can use to manipulate npc behaviour), or really want the world of Windenburg, or nightclubs, but I don't really want any of those, although Windenburg is really pretty! Also if you have Get Together and don't put your sims in clubs, they will get bored from not being in a club. I find bored a really anoying emotion for sims, so that's one of the reasons I don't want Get Together.
I like Dine Out for the challenge of running restaurants, and for the ability to take my sims out to eat.
I don't personally want Spa Day, but if you think you'd have fun with it then that's cool.
Also you should check the prices. If you have enough money for Get Together, you might be able to afford both Dine Out and Spa Day, because I think they're both half the price of Get Together.

A cave dwelling would be very interesting with indoor water falls, rocky walls, a sunken fresh water pool and a "handmade" looking kitchen, rough wooden furniture and a wild mountain herb/flower garden, that could be a good one to try out:) I hope you have a truly lovely Christmas and new year, I love your builds!

There's actually a place called "House on the Rock" in Wisconsin, USA. It's crazy. There's a tunnel part that is suspended over the woods and there's a glass floor section where you can look straight down.

The build reminds me of the famous museum near where I live called "The House On The Rock" It's the luxurious home set atop a bluff rock in the Wisconsin Dells and is surrounded by dozens of rooms of collectables. Really, Google it, the place is so awesome.

This build reminds me a bit of the game Firewatch. You should play it, James! Not necessarily to make videos (because I don't think it's a great candidate for that...), but just for fun! It has a great story and really cool scenery/graphics with lots of exploration.
