Can I do alto size in plus or it’s only for next
Hey! Might be a silly comment now, I just got my Nespresso Vertuo Plus and I got a couple of pods. Are there any pods that are too ''small'' for the machine to handle? Because mine doesn't seem very eager to get going, it only punctures the cap of the pod before the machine thump a little with a couple of red blinking signals. Thinking that I have too small pods? (The pods I got do not fill the ''pod-holder'', it just kind of sits there)

I just got one for the first time. After one use, the used pod does not flip to the back when I open the lid. Help, please!

Do you get cups in different sizes with this machine when you buy it, or do you have to buy them separately? If you have to get them separately it can easily get a bit overpriced...
Hi Jack, the machine does not come with any mugs sets. However, all blends, excluding the carafe capsules, will fit into a standard size mug. Many thanks.

Apart from the design difference is there anything else different between these two versions of the plus model? Which design is newer?

Can I get just plain hot water to add to my coffee as well or will it just do the coffee? I don't like coffee as strong as some and would be happy with a smaller pod in a larger mug; how do I do this please? The instructions in my Vertuo Plus are for a Next which is disappointing.
We're disappointed to hear this, Patricia. If you own the Vertuo Plus, brew your capsule and wait for the green light to go steady. To manually top off your coffee, push the button to add water, and push again to stop when desired volume is reached. I am looking at the used capsules and there seems to be a lot of dry coffee in the pods yet. Is this normal?
Hi Susan, yes, the coffee grounds will remain in the capsule after brewing. We compost them as part of our recycling program.

@@jailsonmsjunior E é mesmo, tem mais ou menos 1 mês que estou testando a Next e a Plus tenho há mais de um ano. O café da Next é um pouco mais aguado, mas o que me incomoda é que o café é mais amargo nela. Na plus eles ficam mais gostosos, saborosos mesmo. Agora posso falar com propriedade que na Plus a experiência é superior mesmo.
Mas nao tem internet na vertuo plus, somente na next. Entao se eventualmente a nespresso quiser adicionar a função Alexa ou Google home na cafeteira, a plus nao vai poder fazer isso pq nao tem internet inclusa. Internet é somente na Next.

How much noise does the machine produce when making the coffee (Virtuo Plus)?
We expect your Nespresso experience to be seamless and gratifying. The pump in your new VertuoPlus should produce less noise over time. The ideal surface for the machine should be solid and flat such as hard wood or a granite countertop. We also recommend running a cleaning cycle weekly and descaling with Nespresso Descaling Solution every 3 months or 300 capsules to keep your machine in peak operating condition and coffee tasting best. Help I just bought a brand new verturo but it will not brew the correct amount of espresso. I got maybe half as much as the first picture

I bought an Nespresso Vertuo PLUS on clearance (without a box) and it is isn't working, it does not flash for 40 seconds and when i try to press it to make the coffee nothing happens and then the light turns red. So disappointed, looks like money down the drain. And i used the gift card my mum gave me for Christmas to purchase it.

The brewing temperature inside the Nespresso machines is around 83-86 degrees for an Original line machine and +/- 78 degrees for a Vertuo machine. This ensures optimal extraction of the coffee aromas without burning the coffee. It also makes sure that you are able to enjoy your coffee right away.
Nespresso coffee is meant to be enjoyed immediately after brewing, which is why it keeps at that temperature . Should your coffee test below the recommended temperatures, we will assist with uplifting your machine for a technical evaluation

I used one of these at a hotel I stayed at. It makes way better coffee than keurigs. The nespresso knows the pre-wetting or steeping step is crucial for a proper cup of coffee. Keurigs dont extract the full flavor of your coffee which is a waste of coffee.

Poor design from Nespresso! They should have introduced COMPOSTABLE pods for their machines a long time ago. According to an ex-executive whistleblower, only 20% of these plastic lined aluminium pods are correctly recycled.
I trash them to ensure nothings recycled

How the hell the machine will recognize what kind of or what size of the coffee I want it today? I don't get it and I can't enjoy my morning coffee because every morning makes different kind of portions of coffee. I can't get it I need your help for sure. Thanks 😊
There are 4 sizes of pod, and they each have a bar code which the machine reads to determine which size of pod is inserted. Each pod will tell you on the top how much water will be dispensed. Pause this video at 0:50 to see the 4 sizes. The espresso is always 40ml, double espresso 80ml, Gran Lungo 150ml and mug is 230ml. As long as you pay attention to which one you’re inserting you’ll always know how big a cup you’ll need.
Once you’ve determined your favourite type of coffee (for example I would never use the mug size of 230ml) then you can order only your preferred size in future.
Vertuo machines uses our patented Centrifusion™ technology which reads the bar-coded capsules to brew to the perfect parameters of your cup. The capsules have ounce size indicators on the foil, for instance, 7.7 oz brews a whole cup of coffee, while 1.35 oz is just a shot of espresso.
