I love this video, I’m actually about to get this bike in a few days, but the fact that there are certain points in the video where you just stop talking and let us enjoy the ride and watch how the bike runs on the highway or in town is awesome. It’s giving me a preview on when I own one. I’m 5’9 and Around 260lbs. I’ll also give a review if anyone cares for one seeing as how I’m almost the complete opposite build to this guy lol. Great video my friend! Currently looking at the Sport Scout since I found it was actually cheaper to get that than the Scout Bobber since the Sport Scout already comes with the parts I wanted. Only thing I need to do is upgrade to the 10" risers instead of sticking with the 6" so it's about $1,000 cheaper. It'll be my first ever brand new bike, and first ever Indian so this is going to be one hell of an experience!
The Sport Scout is actually 3 inches of rear suspension travel. All of them are 3” inches in the 2nd gen except for the bobber which is 2”. I have the Rogue of the 1st gen bikes and that is 2”.
This is why I got confused because I say Rogue in front of me, but knew it was a 2025, I did put the correction in description at the time of posting because as I was encoding the video it hit me.
Great video man! I have been a sucker for the Rogue and it is nice to see these new features and upgrades included in the 2025 line-up. The info you share here makes it a difficult choice to choose the 101 Scout when this price point saves you a few bucks and seems to be more than enough.
If you doubt between power, you can flash this engine to 111hp. It's only the suspension, headlight and paint whats different between the bikes then.
Indian has some nice color combos. I think I like this particular Scout over the 101. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the digital gauge. I'm a analog man. Other than that it's a beautiful ride.
Then pick the limited (not with tech) and you'll have your dream bike🤩😉

Now that you have made a video on both 101 and scout sport. you should do a compare video, why should i buy the 101 over the sport?
When it comes down to the two the 101 has the better suspension and stock seat, but is it worth the extra? Kinda. Both are good and solid rides, but the Sport Scout can get a bit more upset by bad roads while the 101 is more stable.
I love my scout sport limited it's not the tech but it works this as well I do wish the back brake pedal was more even with a footprint that's my only flaw with it but yes it has plenty of power

I've been looking into this bike, but I wish they kept the mini apes from the previous model or at least sold this one stock with the 10 inch risers.
Just hope the 101 is on the next demo truck. Want to check that out for sure.

The bobber they opened up the limited plus tech and when you click them there is some nice red and blue paint

Hi from England great video, very detailed review, I'm seriously considering the 101, my issue is that I have the Rouge which is totally blacked out, black tank, black mug guards etc, I just wish there was this option with the 101, or I guess I could buy the Sport and add the extras, what's your thoughts...

Thank you for the nice review. I have one question concerning the startup of the bike. Can the bike be started while the ride command is booting up or do you have to wait until the ride command has gone through its cycling first?
@@razorback6098 it can be started in boot up. My normal sequence is start, put on gear, sit on saddle, hit okay, and go.
Thank you for such a detailed ride, I am currently looking to choose between the Sport Scout and the 101. The price is what is delaying my decision, but this is so long (in a good way) to show various roads, bumps and wind handling. The 101 test runs did not show these conditions at all. This model is holding its own. I am a city rider and I work towards the Long Island area (NYC) is my hometown. Bumpy roads, pot holes, etc.. I am 6"2": and 200 plus power trainer. I need a good solid ride. This is pushing me towards the Sport Scout just from what you are saying as you actually ride. If you were in my shoes, you had to choose between the two, opinion only, which would you buy? The 101 has better brakes BREMBO, and suspension. I hear the engine can be modified to be equally as strong as the 101, from the Sport Scout. With all this your thoughts, from a actually knowledgeable rider is appreciated . Such a great review. I will keep my open on your channel as well.
My klr650 is a heater. Even while riding. That’s gonna be my trade in. For a sport scout.
I dont understand the reason for the ugly fuel cap. Why did they move it?

Theres nothing wrong with it. Many many motorcycles do fuel caps like that.
Hopefully more reliable but a doubt it.
And why a backward step to the steel frame instead of cast aluminum.
I was just looking at this bike at a dealership. I have an ftr. Im not sure I'd like the forward controls on the shifter and rear break. How does it feel in comparison? Im 5'11 and i like the handle ability of the ftr im afrid those forward controls wont be as good. Im curious what people think who have made gone from the ftr to scout
Forward controls are something that once used to you can still get some good riding out of it. The FTR is and will always be more nimble than a Scout, even if mid-mount controls are installed (this is coming around March from what we are being told) as the Scout is simply lower to the ground and does not have the lien angles. With that being said, Sport Scouts and 101s have the taller 19-inch front wheel and tends to turn faster than the smaller stubbier and wider wheels of the Bobber, Classic, and Super. But all still feel fast, light, and nimble throughout a normal commute. It's only if you have some serious turns and take them at the serious speeds where you would want the FTR over the Scout. It is perfectly happy as an inner-city commuter and part time canyon carver.
@RabidHedgehog yeah that's why I was looking at the sport vs the bobber. I did see guys saying even the sport scout has some peg grinding in the canyon. I love the look of the scout but I've never ridden one to compare it to my ftr. Hopefully soon and I can make a decision if I want to trade in or not. Thank you for your review 👍🏻

I thought only the bobber had 2 inch suspension travel? All the other models have 3 inch’s.

I have the 2022 Rogue. Came with 2 inch travel. Stock shocks were garbage…felt like I just got punched in the kidneys everytime I hit a pothole or a bump. Replaced them with the Indian Piggyback shocks….night and day difference…and made it 3 in. travel.
I hate they got rid of the mini apes... and they do not currently offer them on indians website for this bike.... sticking with the 2024 rogue

101 has 111hp & this has 100hp I believe

A lot of people will buy the bobbers and own them for 1 2 3 4 years and sell them with less than 10k miles and youll be able to get a bobber used for under 10k. Im going to buy a used one in a couple years of the classic version i think. I dont want to pay 17k but someone will and in 5 years ill pay 8 or whatwever
@@TheAnnoyingBoss I regularly see 4 year old Scout Bobber Twenty's with 7 to 10k miles on them selling for only 2k less than msrp. You might have to wait 10 years to see one 1/2 off bruh.

Would you recommend this for a newer rider?
It would be a good platform to start and grow on. The engine does not get too crazy until you rev it up, low on the ground and easy to flick around.
I realize that it's probably meant to be a direct competitor to the Harley Nightster due to the looks, but to be honest, appearancewise, I'm not in love with it (not that I'm entirely head-over-heels for the Nightster, either)
Harley made the Nightster to compete with Gen 1 Scouts as the original Sporty was unable to contend with it. Indian simply needed to make a Gen 2 as the other platform was right at 10 years old and it was time. The Nightster is kind of a train wreck of a looker as you see the high side (when on the stand many call this the beauty side) as it is complete looking and the engine is dressed and such. Get to the left side where the stand is and it looks like they forgot to finish the thing. Though the 2 to 1 pipe is huge and not the most attractive on the Scout at least looking around the bike feels and looks complete and it is only in the first year. At least here in Oklahoma when riding around and going to motorcycle heavy stops and such I have not seen a single Nightster or even Sportster S cruising around these areas, but I have seen Scouts, and I am sure I will see these there when they fully make it out in the next couple of months.
@@RabidHedgehog that wouldn't surprise me at all. And I'm not surprised at the lack of Sportster S models being driven around there. Frankly, I live in Louisiana and have yet to see a single one on the road because from what I see, they're a butt-ugly attempt at phoning in a hybrid of a Fat Bob and an FXDR with a Sportster badge and the Nightster just doesn't seem like it will be able to compete in the cruiser segment, price aside, because of its aforementioned incomplete appearance.
I think the Harley Nightster looks crap, especially from one side its fugly

@@RabidHedgehogexcept i still think the nightster is worse than the gen 1 scouts. That dumb woman has ran harley into the ground. Thats why their dealer in my county that was there all my life closed and indian moved in almost overnight. Harley spent a fortune doubling down on the electric bricks no one wants or can afford and even if they can who wants a livewire when for way less you get softtail standard?
So, the scout sport is an appearance package, and the sport chief is actual functional changes to make it more sporty. So if you really want the scout sport, buy the 101. It's that the gist of this? Really disappointing honestly.

I know this may sound trivial but the unused mirror mount makes me annoyed they put it there and is a turn off for me to buying the bike.
