    Its about time someone came out with a proper looking AR9. The front slanted 9mm glock mags look ridiculous... Can you make a video where you open this weapon up and allow us to look at the feed ramp and bolt carrier?

      Hi, John! I’ve got the 4” and I keep having issues with stove piping...it’s chambering the next round but continues to FTE the spent case. Have you experienced this? I cleaned it, and changed ammo, but the issue continues. Ive only used FMJ ammo. I’ve contacted PSA and after three weeks, and emailing them each week, I can’t get a response, and their phone line is down.

    Update: I finally got to the range. Thumbs up on the AR-V. The Armaspec captured buffer deal is a must! PSA is now selling the core kit which I recommend. The trigger is marginal. The PSA handguard is worthless if you want to mount anything on the 4.5” barrel. It’s too slim and there’s no m-lol clearance behind it with a can or blast shield. Accuracy is phenomenal for such a short barrel. The scorpion Magpul mags will not feed hollow points but the factory mag seems to run fine. I wish I had more ammunition to run a better test....

  • @michaelfoxx6881
    @michaelfoxx6881 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So I went and ordered the builder kit that comes with the lower, upper, BCG, and 35 rd magazine! Looking at getting a 10.5 inch bbl for mine!

  • @joelbuck5033
    @joelbuck5033 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Finally picked mine up from my FFL. I added a Devil Dog's Concepts Side Charger and tried some other add on parts. Mine is the 4" version so it has very little rail space on the hand guards. The muzzle device it ships with is very thick and makes the M-Lok slots unusable, so no finger stop until that is swapped out. I haven't fired it yet but compared the factory mag to a Magpul one. The Magpuls are definitely sloppy and won't feed hollow points during manual cycling. The factory mag definitely sits higher in the receiver and manually cycles hollow points. Also, FYI, my dumb self attempted to swap out the buffer and spring with a armaspec captured spring kit. Those don't work with 9mm blow back bolts, I'm not sure why it's marketed as a PCC weight buffer when it would never work in one.
    Edit: you have to remove the bolt carrier weight to make this work. The recoil impulse is about zero with the Armaspec PPC captured spring kit!

    Maybe polishing the feed ramp will help with hollow points? So is a 3 lug the best option for a suppressor? wish it was 1/2x28, 3 lug from cgs is like $130.

    This is why I purchased the 4” and 8” 9MM uppers from PSA and put them on an AR15 lower. USE EndoMags, no mag well adapter needed. Make sure to purchase a 9MM buffer (not the same as an AR15 buffer) minimum weight 9.5 oz. I use the 11.0 oz buffer weight from Brownells. Use a heavy buffer spring, I use Sprinco Red. Over 1000 rounds through each gun, flawless (except aluminum) with several kinds of ammo including JHP, flat nose and steel cased ammo. Also, replace trigger pin, hammer pin, buffer retainer pin and firing pin with titanium, not expensive. You’ll thank me later.

    I have found when I rest the mag on a hard surface and fire like that the recoil is always more harsh. Get that other hand on the foregrip and you will feel less recoil. Also got to a 8oz extended buffer. Huge difference.

    I ordered mine in the 4" version a couple days ago. Thanks for doing the review. Do you know if they have a standard weight buffer and spring? I'm wondering if increasing the weight or spring rate would reduce the recoil impulse. I can't wait to get the new toy and put some rounds down range.

      Look up tungsten weights for your buffer. You can take the pin off and replace the steel or worse aluminum weights with tungsten weights. Makes it a heavy buffer. Way lighter recoil.

      The AR-V is definitely lighter. Recoil impulse is about the same. The AR-V has more aftermarket accessories since it is an AR platform. That's not to say that the AK-V has limited accessories. There is just more on the AR-V.

      Buy the essential parts build kit for $500 and go with all mil spec LPG and standard buffer setup, those are dirt cheap even now. You could build one for around $800, 900 if you wanted a better polished trigger and SS barrel.
