Fitting that Death Stranding was the game you chose to use for the title pic of the video... cuz that game is phenomenal in regards to it's Open World experience! The details in the game are nuts, and there's so many cool missions to go on, that help you to explore the map too. Plus, the game totally allows you to go at your own pace. 😏❤️🎧 🎮 It's honestly perfect.
The problem for me with Death Stranding is, the world is empty (most of the time) and while it makes sense because of the story and situation the world is in, it doesn't make for a very fun open world experience imo. That being said, I just found the game disappointing overall. I understand what Kojima was going for, and it was obviously a game made with a specific idea and his touch is definitely there. But the traversal stuff just wasn't enough for me to enjoy it and after about 8 hours I just couldn't play it much anymore.
Forbidden West and Burning Shores provided my absolute favorite action RPG experiences so far - a rich and compelling open world I got lost in for hours - and I have NG+ set up for another run I can’t wait to get back to. I think about it all the time. (And I know people dunk on Ubisoft’s worlds for being overly bloated, but Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is another great game in my top 5.)
Unfashionable to say it but Ubisoft make some of the most gloriously oversized and endlessly enjoyable open worlds, we'd be so much worse off without them
AC Odyssey is a superb RPG, as a history buff it also is accurate to the setting of its time.
I just want to say thank you for keeping most of your content positive. I really feel like you guys actually like video games unlike some other channels on youtube.

My favourites are the witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead 2, Days Gone, Horizon ZD and FW, Spiderman 1 and 2, GTA 5 and Elden Ring, Sleeping Dogs and Ghost of Tsushima.
Shadow of Mordor is one of the most underrated & my personal favorites!

Good video. Another great open world is in The Division 2; especially with the NYC expansion.
When it comes to open world the best are Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto (mostly all of them), Witcher 3, Skyrim, Death Stranding, Zelda, and Subnautica. These games have their own settings and world. Each of these games stand out on each of their own category.

Gotta give some love to Days Gone.
It's not really that good. It feels very similar to far cry but I didn't enjoy it as much. The environment is immersive and the story is ok but the characters are not very likeable.
Had a lot of fun with days gone too!
No Man’s Sky. It doesn’t get any more open world then that.

@@paulfitzpatrick6566The only time I look forward to actually beating most of these open world games is early retirement. I get lost just looking at trees, foliage n' rock formations lol. Not to mention the main and side quests. So it takes me quite awhile to finishing them.

I retired in February ‘24 & am replaying my favourite PS4 games, FO4, AC Odyssey, Mass Effect Trilogy, Far Cry 3 & 5, HZD, Crew Motorfest, NFS Heat, Sniper Elite 3, 4 & 5, GT7, Grid Champions, Dirt ( Dirt 3 on PS3 was the better game & needs a current gen remake ) FF7 Remake, AC Origins, Metro Last Light & Exodus, COD WWII, ( MOH I for PS3 needs a remake ), Tomb Raider last 3 games ( with a less modified Lara Croft 😃 ), to name but a few.
NFSMW2005, the racing game that I got with my first PS3, was easily the stand out racing game of the last 19 years, & needs a current gen remake.
I don’t play football games, nor F1 as they are all highly repetitive & samey.
I played Skyrim modded on an Xbox, & Forza Horizon 3 & 4.
But I returned to Sony & PS after the Xbox stopped working after only 2 years & cost me £300.
My current PS4 is 8 years old, runs a little hot, but is still running & playable. I’m looking at a new PS5 Slim from EE at £409, a £90 saving plus the Slim has the largest storage capacity than the standard 5, & takes up lot less room.
As you say yourself, one can easily get lost in an open world game & obviously they are designed this way.
My very first game on a friend’s PS3 was MOH Frontline, over 20 years ago, which accurately enplayed the D-Day Landings of 1944.
A superb game for its time & historically highly accurate.

@@christianveiga4441 the entire list of this video. My favorite cyberpunk 2077, final fantasy rebirth, Witcher 3, horizon forbidden West... I haven't been able to play much of dragons dogma 2 but after I finish rebirth I look forward to getting lost in that one too.
I think you missed quite a few good ones like Just Cause 3, Tom Clancy's Gost Recon Breakpoint, GTA V, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Assassin's Creed Mirage, NFS Heat, NFS Unbound, New World, Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2, Watch Dogs Legion, and Saints Row
Most of those belong on a tier below the ones in this video except GTA 5 and skyrim.

I honestly can't wait for Rebirth to come to PC in about 5 months I guess, give or take. I think FF7 Remake was 6 months after the console release, but I could be wrong. I know we are getting FF 16 soon also, so I'm looking forward to that one also. But Rebirth man, wow. My friend can't stop talking about how good the game was (though he didn't like the ending) and he doesn't much like the FF series or Japanese developed RPG's in general. As for the other games on this list - I'd say Horizon Forbidden West is my current favorite now that I can play it on PC (with an incredible port to boot) but I also quite enjoyed Shadow of Mordor, RDR2 (though I barely touched the surface of that one), Witcher 3, Horizon 5 and Far Cry 3 (and Blood Dragon). There are plenty of open world games however that "keep on giving" as it were. I mean look at the Saint's Row games 2, 3 and 4 are all incredibly well made and seriously packed with content to do and enjoy. I liked the reboot of Saint's Row also; I know it's not cool to like that game - but I did quite a bit. There's plenty of others of course I could list. Outcast A New Beginning is currently another new game I'm enjoying quite a bit with a terrific world design and interesting plot etc. Maybe not a game that keeps on giving but you know, it is what it is.
Hey it's Masterpiece Theatre. narrating on GameBolt again ,you like do so much in Red Dead Redemption 2 .Is why it one really cool kick ass game .But I could remember there was certain gamers and reviewers complaining that it was boring as hell ,and that was when it first came out ,and said on that like bullshit it like funds hell to play .Plus there is lots to do in it .

Shadow of Mordor has got to be one of my favourite games of all time it's a shame the sequel was botched and we will probably never see a 3rd one.

FO4 is only playable with the mods from the modding community, however, having said this, with mods, it is indeed a superb game. Most atmospheric.

Just platinumed the witcher 3 after 240 hours. And I'm sad af it's all over. One game I didn't have a single issue replaying twice just to do all the story and dlc over again. The witcher sets just make it a whole new game with each different new build. My favorite rpg of all time by a landslide.
I've probably played more RPG than 90% of all gamers in the world as my skin and lack of life would show and I have to say The Witcher 3 esp3vially for its time even pre complete edition (4.0) I've yet to see the detail and lack of fluff out if any game. Sure some xome close but what CDPR did was aweing. Every single quest and side quest was detailed and most don't kmow this but the entirety of each map is designed around the quests and lore in case you missed it go back and take a look. The maps were made around the lore. Also the side quests always felt as good as main if not better. AND what other game mixes side quests and main quests as well as the witcher 3 to a point to where it changes almost every dialog for both main and side depending on what you have and haven't done. CDPR went as far as to add content for ppl who exploit xp and currency and special dialog for ppl who skip or go out of their way to try and avoid major main missions and decisions. You can not trick any npc in the witcher 3. There's even a part where you aren't supposed to go back at but you can glitch through a wall and get a key off a body to reenter said area later. It also has some of the best DLC I've ever experienced hands down. They also implemented DLC lore into the vanilla game off the launch for you to pick up on later and you say to your self "holy shit" no Parr of the world's were used for fluff or there just to be there. Once I realized how the maps and landscapes just so happen to align with every quest and mission and piece of lore from the books you pick up even I started roaming for many many hours. I quickly picked up on how most things couldn't be changed or moved around from where or how it is laid out without recreating several other things. The only other game I feel has revieved similair attention would be Balders Gate 3 but again , The Witcher 3 Is actually on a much larger, more difficult scale to navigate and construct. Bg3 could be mixed up a good bit and still not know a difference or change lore. But the witcher 3s world is shaped by character lore like it's actually been lived in and managed for centuries even. Even a random no body npc that gives a bit of information is not random. There's always a unique explanation to why everyone Is and where they are and why they are who they are. And the balance of magic and chaos and humans monsters and nonhumans stay within their boundaries and laws and lore. Everything stays bound by the world's laws of physics so to speak. From start to end. You never find yourself saying "well that was put there just ti make the story/game make sense because they had no other way" at first glance I thought differently until later in game when some of the characters (no bodys) give information that a no body should have and I initially thought "...here we go with the bs, devs just giving guidance and making simple things uo to point you in the right direction" but nope. Those guys came back much later in full force 80 hours I'm like "holy shit no way, that makes sense now " especially playing your ng+ the witcher games could be made into their own respective books being as the witcher 3 coukd be split uo into 2 novels with 2 side story books or 3. I've never seen anyone make a game outside a novel that is so far from it but sticks so true at the same time and gets everything notonly right, but perfect. You almost forget that nome of the ganes are cannon but yet they almost could be. Honestly one could argue that the games may hold just as much importance as the books surprisingly. Also, anyone only doing the story in the witcher 3 are only getting less than 5% of all fast travel sign posts and are seeing less than 10% of the entire capacity of the explorable maps. Novigrad/Velen you'll see a lot but you aren't seeing Jack shit in toussaint, the nicest map in the game with the best quests and side quests and skellige is a bit depressing but also has a very unique vibe/setting that is very The Witcher like. But again, I've 100% the game all quests and side quests and errands, done every ending and have done every glitch and weird routes I could think of just to try and trip the dialog up but haven't been able too. Theyve thought of everything. This is a gsme you can beat in 40 hours and not even experience 10% of what's actually going on and technically only running through the main story is the most confusing thing I've experienced. Some things are done/said that has happened or has not that you either heard about read about or just didn't get to experience bit still happened while you were playing all while where you could've actually been apart of it. The main story ahouldve added 50% of the side quests as they are directly linked to the main I feel or close there to
I also believe Elden Ring belongs in the top 5 best rpgs of late in every lists mentioning rpgs. I can't even adhere to an argument against this.

I will never undertand how people like Death Stranding. Ive tried that game a few times and it just doesn't click. I get SO BORED.
How much time have you actually put into the game? The game opens up the more you put in, so the more you put in the more you get out and boy howdy did that game open up! It ended up being one of the best games I've ever played and I cannot wait for death stranding 2
@@Kev_AH I will be honest. Its been a while and I dont really remember. I do remember making a long trek to a "town" and there wasnt much there. Its seemed like it just ended up sending me on another long journey and I was like. "Is this the game? "
@@kryptonian5539- Oh God 🫣🤣 lol Then you SERIOUSLY missed out on all that the game had to offer. The 1st couple of chapters (basically the 1st map), is mostly just a tutorial phase of the game, to get you familiar w/the mechanics.
The game needs you to be good at doing the basics at least ... because of ALL that is coming up ahead. You might start out only walking from place to place, doing basic sh*t at 1st... but at some point you're climbing massive mountain peaks, trekking through blizzards, speeding down the highway on your bike, flying through the air on Ziplines all across the map, engaging in combat, dealing with nightmare war time scenarios, fighting massive BT bosses, etc.
I could say more but then that would spoil it. Point is: you REALLY missed out, if you just played it for a few hours & then gave up, omg.
It is a massive, expansive game, with a rather intriguing story too. I would definitely give it another try. Especially before the sequel comes out. Cuz you clearly didn't get the full Death Stranding experience. Some of ya'll have become so used to games like COD, or w/the live service model... that ya'll don't have the patience it takes to get through a gaming experience like Death Stranding. It's kinda sad.
