You can also just stay on centrelink while working with us as he does cash in hand as well if you don't want anything by the books. I'd suggest doing it by the books though in the long run. No jobs for the IT industry in Australia since many months because Australia doesn't have large and new businesses so if during the initial phase of hunting job u don't find anything then don't expect much in upcoming time also because in Australia a number of jobs are limited unlike large economies like US or India or China where we see a lot of changes in job market giving some expectations but in Australia it's a slow growing country with limited opportunities in IT and Data Science related domains related too as mostly things are outsourced and contractual even in IT industry so if u r not just skilled but extraordinary and well equipped market skill person with excellent communication skills then only come for IT roles here otherwise u will end up doing some other jobs and not related to ur masters field giving u less PR points and longer waiting yrs to achieve it.

That is because in Australia, only the ones good at and really interested in engineering become engineers and almost all stick to their fields after studies. While India churns out 1.5 million engineers a year, all of utterly low quality, and almost none of them do any real engineering jobs after graduation. None of them get their hands dirty, all want some cushy office jobs in a managerial role. With that attitude, I wouldnt pay them any more than $200 a month either.

An American working in Macdonald's for example, would earn roughly $14 an hour, in Australia someone doing the exact same or very similar job will earn up to $28 to $35 an hour. The US dollar is still stronger than the Aussie dollar though. Still in Australia we can probably buy more groceries with our higher pay lol
