I didn't go to college and by age 25 I was making 90 grand a year. Part of it was luck but mostly I just started at the bottom at a really good job and showed up worked my hardest and my area manager happened to get fired 4 yrs after I started at age 21 and I happened to be the most experienced and most dependent. So it is possible to succeed in life and have an amazing job without college

I was a hospital nurse, quit, and became a cyber security analyst with no experience. Doesn't make any sense. I just knew someone. Everything happens by chance.
What does a cyber security analyst do specifically? Did they train you?

@@ashleyren22 Hi, yes I am getting training, but there is also some studying/learning that you have to do to get better at the job. The very basics of the job is protecting a company’s network by monitoring internet traffic coming into or out of the network. Then have figure out if the traffic is malicious or not and take appropriate actions. Also, typically you won’t make 100k starting out… not sure where this guy got this info.
@@ellechanelthesimer2927 Hi, yea I was a nurse for 8 years and had high stress/blood pressure/pretty much dead inside. It was hard to make a change because I felt like I would be leaving behind a decent salary (90k+) but it wasn’t that great of money in exchange for killing myself. It helped to have someone offer me a job in IT but I think there are many ways to get into IT with different certifications.

If that's the case than it should fricken count. You've got to pay someone to tell you how to do something!! Unless nepotism/friend/your about to be asulted...then they give you a 'chance' teaching you A&B but not C,D,and E because "you might get confused" aka, you're a threat/not giving them the blow/rim job they want. It's a racket and all to get money so you can responsibly & reliably be a productive member of society until you die.... Spending most of your life wasted and being so envious of the youth that you fight to keep the same/worse systems in place, because how dare they get to live there life. Unless they were born/marry into money....than you gotta be there friends, which should be easy, because they like screwing over others without their privallaged as well. Unless they married into it, then they basically"forget" that if it wasn't for their hubby's family hook ups, they'd still be paying for college.....

Yup! And it is all expensive! Just not AS expensive as college. Programming boot camps can be 10k+. For a lot of these jobs you need aptitude for the jobs AND lots of experience working much lower paying jobs. Computer programming is where it is at, but I’m aiming for database manager because my language learning skills suck.
just because you dont go to college doesnt mean you stop learning, making yourself an expert in whatever field is the key to making bank.

Man I still feel so bummed about how I was offered a apprenticeship in my 20s (with no degree) by the father of my girlfriend at the time who was a successful construction manager. He was offering to teach me everything about the trade, and even talked to me about building a house for us to move into. Was an incredible opportunity, and the father was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, but unfortunately that relationship didn’t work out and even though he kept the offer on the table, I had to decline out of respect for his daughter.
Learned a few years ago that her next boyfriend and her got married, and her dad made the same offer to him, and bought them a house as a wedding gift. Her husband now owns his own construction company, and based on their lifestyle is making an easy 150k+, while I’m still stuck making 50k a year in my 30s. Thinking about it still hurts.

Go to college if you’re academically incline and love to study or do research. A trade school can get you really great high paying skills e.g. micro blading, coding boot camps, machine operator, etc
I thought I was academically inclined until I got hit with that college math. And by the time I got tutoring for whatever I had to take a test for, it was already too late and I had taken the test.
@@floridaman8500 I am in college right now. That is how I feel. I have always been "advanced," in school per say. Got to college, and that Math is awful. I am failing, it is the first time I have been on the verge if failing lol. Next semester I am taking a different route, but complex maths or sciences are a bitch. Air traffic control is a very stress heavy job, definitely not something that you can just "do right out of high school" all of the training mentioned for this takes years to complete and there are age limits to this career (if past like 29 you can't even get in the training) Not trying to discourage anyone though, this is a really important job; just find it odd to be mentioned as an alternative to college. Arguably this path is more challenging than a standard college degree.
When I researched about air traffic control job posting always says you should have a bachelors or come from air force. So I don't understand what having no degree or entry level is being an air traffic controler

@@davidpham8748 not 100% true. my partner is an ATC and hes at 98k after 1 year and expecting to hit 6 figures soon, and he has no degree and his last job was Target for 4 years. however it is HIGHLY stressful and any mistake can lead a federal investigation on you.

Most these jobs are physically taxing, risks one's health/safety, diminishes one's health, no work-life-balance, or requires dexterity (good with hands). Good ideas.. Just not for everyone - just like college.

You can work as a lineman, operator, maintenance man, electrical designer, relay tester, etc. No degrees needed.
Great vid for the youngsters. I never graduated high school. Always wanted to work. Most jobs in your life will be from who you know. Learn what you can, as much as you can. I did Air Traffic control for 9 months straight in Afghanistan and I’m an infantry guy, was real real hard at first but by the time I left I was teaching other people. Might be worth looking into again

Getting your CDL is a great option if you like driving. Jobs and pay vary hugely and you can do whichever based on the work/life balance that you want.

Question for all you truck drivers out there… 21 years old right now, sadly got a dui for weed back when I was 16/17. Is there any chance for me to find a way into this field with this on my record?
I'm a truck driver making 100k and home daily so that's another route. But, I do work 65 hours a week and am in an industry that they're trying to automate. Which is why I'm personally looking for a change.
They have along way to go until it is fully automated. That's why alot of them are moving back to self driving cars instead of trucks. It's smart to make a change for the future but the public right now ain't having it
I've seen video of yard trucks and forklifts that are also fully automated. I think we have about another 10 years to go before life starts to get hopeless.

Alot of these require to work long hours, and plenty OT to reach that amount. Which it's possible, but hard. Most degree jobs are regular mon-fri salary. More time to enjoy life. So it's a tough one

I don't have a college degree. I make $40 an hour working on automated manufacturing equipment. I did not even go to trade school for this either. I studied for 6 to 8 months watching TH-cam videos and placed as an A rate mechanic with no experience. I also own several rental properties and plan on retiring from my day job by the time im 40.
Almost every good paying job requires a lot of your time. Lawyers for example work just as much or more hours than the jobs listed as well as Dr's. If your questioning putting in the work needed you are not on the right track for achieving wealth. You have to have passion to achieve wealth.

What Vincent leaves out about the construction management position is the immense stress. This is coming from someone who is on the design side. You'll typically notice a lot of turnover in the construction industry - that's not an accident. I find it's especially odd to suggest this after watching Vincent's videos about quitting the rat race of finance. A/E can have similarly bad hours, emails at all time of the night, and putting out fires constantly. I know he means well, but whew - Vincent clearly did not perform much diligence before including it in this list.

I’m a construction superintendent and let me tell you there’s a reason I’m watching videos like these. You’re absolutely correct when talking about the immense stress of the position/industry. We don’t get to hang it up at the end of a day or night. Weekends are almost unavoidable and don’t get me started on turnover.. Most people don’t want the stress if they’re not entirely invested in the culture that goes along with the job.

For those of you interested in a construction trade such as Carpenter, Plumber, HVAC or Electrician. Definitely go with a Union, they will teach you through an Apprenticeship with excellent pay and benefits!
I do commercial electrical and I can’t imagine doing line work. If you think construction people are rough they’re nothing compared to widebacks. I’ve seen linemen and utility types physically assault their apprentices for making the smallest mistakes or being too slow. The trades are extremely demoralizing and outside of line work or elevator constructors 80k is nowhere near the average pay unless you’re working 65 hour weeks. Stay in the office and A/C , it’s much better than destroying your body for 30/$hr at most and putting up with GCs, violent and drug addicted co workers and cheap ass business owners. The union side isn’t much better either barring a couple of halls in places like Seattle or Portland. I’m speaking from experience. If I could do it all over again I’d get the best office job without a degree I could or be a professional street pharmacist/ “money borrower”.

Insurance is a safe bet also. Just need to be 18, take a prelicense course, study & pass the test to get your license. And if you work for an agency they'll pay for you to get your license.

The only job I could hope to do from this list is Elevator Repairer... and even then that's sort of asking too much from me. The only thing I got going for me is a have a mechanical mind. I just know how things work and how they fit together. Give me enough time alone with something and let me take it apart and I can pretty much figure out how it works. Communication skills are low and actually regressing even further though do to anxiety problems. So that sucks...

To get into Power Plant Operator which we call Process Operator you will need a 2 years associates. The job is extremely hard to get because every community college has the degree. Its a good career if you can gain employment.
When he mentions stress about certain jobs, i have to say that stress is necessary to do a well paying job. Dont be scared, just be yourself and focus.
Yeah the only thing is that it will kill you down the road , high paying jobs have a form of chronic stress that will fuck you up.

Trucking used to stress me out until I got with the right company and got my own routine. 9 years later it's real easy except the winter weather. I'm a night driver and my company isn't forced dispatch. I haven't spoke to my fleet manager in 3 months. Send me my load over the tablet and I'm good to go
If you’re pursuing software engineering or development, boot camps are worthwhile if you have a degree already. If you don’t have a degree, and haven’t been working with software personally, don’t go to a boot camp unless you’re pursuing web development. They’re similar in price to a CS degree online but hold a fraction of the value. I’m sure there’s people who can make it with just the boot camp, and great job to those who have, but it’s much less common than advertised. Remember, if it’s too good to be true it usually is. A 3-6 month boot camp won’t get you the 100k salary you think you’ll make. I’ve worked in big tech, DOD, commercial, and finance industries. I’ve NEVER worked with someone who went to a boot camp.

Good vid! I’m a controller, tough but rewarding career and they will take people off the street with no experience as there is a huge shortage. Actually becoming fully certified is a whole separate battle. But the money is great.

This is a shocker when you first hear them say it, but it will teach you how life really works. I’ve been paying rent since I turned 18 to my parents, it sucked but I don’t hate them for it.

Awesome video! I've always been interested in computer programming and most of my friends and family think I could be good at it. After watching this video and seeing the potential income and flexibility, I want to give it a try. This is a probably a shot in the dark, but would you know the names of some of those bootcamps your friends learned through?

Another great potential career that people can get into without a degree would be Sales. A lot of entry level positions do not require degrees and with the commission earned people can make 6figure incomes. Of course it isn't easy and it takes a lot of work and grind, but just like anything if you put in the effort to learn and use as many resources like training programs, books, etc then you can make a good to amazing salary.
Territory or B2B sales can bring in a TON, just make sure to get a solid base salary with it. Just not for everyone and you definitely want to have the drive for it, long hours but worth the check from my experience.

When I first started working with solar panels it was like Chinese to me these days I’m considered a solar pro I thought electrical was difficult to learn but it’s really not u don’t have to be scared of electricity just respect it at all times wires always go somewhere and stop somewhere so u just gotta figure out the issues from start to end it’s so simple
Solar install is hardly considered electrical. It’s mostly installing rails and panels on roofs. Not hating but just saying … also how’s the 20/$hr treating you ?
@@deezenutzz69 yea if your just doing roof installs sometimes you got ground mounts that involve trenching you got battery’s you got generators sometimes cities require electrical upgrades before solar can be installed so I’ve been doing this almost 10 years which qualifies me a solar pro but I mainly do electrical we have rackers that rack and set panels most solar companies don’t pay by the hour they pay by the watt so I make well over a 100k plus it’s my dads company and will be mine in about 5 more years so I’m doing ok 👍🏼 thanks for asking!

Elevator mechanics makes more than 123k you can make 290k and you need apprentice ship 5 years and work your way up to a jurneyman and you need a state licenses
