The carcano is not a 1 shot headshot at further ranges, which is a huge downside that you forgot to mention, it's more like an aggressive rifle but even more than the M.95. I prefer to have a scope too, but I enjoy both weapons. And also the reload time is longer with the carcano when you have 2 or more bullets in the chamber. On the other points, the carcano beats the M.95, but a scope and a 1 shot headshot at any range is the most important thing for a sniper rifle (in my opinion). The carcano is a good weapon if you are a headshot machine, like the M95, except that you need to be more accurate with iron sights, but you can be more affective considering its rate of fire. But I still prefer the M.95.
I've only landed 15 kills with the M91, but it won't replace my love for Gewehr M.95 Infantry (1000+ kills). I do not use scoped snipers, so the iron sights only is not a problem in my camp.
There are actually 2 points of this review which annoys me, its just incomplete. Two points have to be said: First: the carcano will only one-shot-headshot up to 87 m, which is a MASSIVE disadvantage. Second: next to the russian 1895 trench, the M95 is the only scout weapon which has a x0,93 forearm and leg damage multiplier. This simply means, you will get almost everytime you you hit somebody in the forearms or legs at least 75% damage, most of the time even more, which will end up in "hit counts as kill" more frequently as with any other scoutgun. Seeing famous youtubers missing mainpoints of weapon balance in a review really grinds my gears, because i know so much greenhorns rely in what they say.

The Mannlicher gives me the security that the enemy is gonna always need two shots (except when hes already injuree, no problem there), so with this rifle you learn to follow your targets for second shots and this rifle allows you to do that in a very fast way. Thats where it stands out from the rest. The Carcano is ok, but the damage you get drops too much with distance, sometimes you dont even get the kill with a head shot! That sucks. Any rifle or carbine should kill with one shot to the head. For me this new carbine is nice mostly cuz its new, but thats all. Never a replacement of the M95

I think the bolt action animation is something worth mentioning if you want to compare iron against iron. For the m95 the animation allows to to keep ADSing while you pull the bolt and fire your next round on target quickly. With the carcano your hand gets in the way and the rifle moves a lot so you have to aim out and then reacquire the target for your second shot. You can see that he does this every time in the video.

10k kills with the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE MIII, 2,5k with the Martini Henry. Over 15k kills with bolt action rifles (1/3 of my total kills) and I've managed to get huge games regardless of the rifle I use (mostly iron sights) so it's up to the skill level and game style not to the rifle itself. Though I'd recommend the smle or the gewehr 98 infantry for begginers, thats how I came to be.
Playing with Iron Sights is a fun challenge and you can still have situational awareness unlike the bunch of snipers that you can sneak up behind and knife each one without any of them noticing.
I use m95 infantry predominantly, and i find the radium sights to be a worse option with most weapons. They often take up more of the lower half of your sight picture than the irons, and have a much wider post. Most irons front post ends in a point, unlike the radium sights front post.
I find that it is amazing if you hit them once and literally just pull the trigger as soon as it’s rechambered and it’s like 80% of the time will be on target
Honestly why would I use this? Two hits to kill with a horribly slow firerate. Why would I ever want to use this over just a 3 hit kill Medic Rifle that can fire up to 10x as fast?
Ze insane Medic because if you flank a group of 4 or more enemies, you can pick them off much quicker with headshots and they won't feel the suppression because of the slower fire rate. Also this gun has a decent rate of fire for a bolt action. You can get some great kill feeds if you attack the enemies being suppressed. It's a one shot on enemies below 75 health up to 50 meters. Perfect for meeting groups of enemies at the mesh point of the objective.
That's the thing. If I flank them and I have time to shoot each and everyone, pull the bolt, fire again, then I sure as hell have time to just shoot them with a semi auto rifle. And if they don't know where I am, I might as well use my pistol. Everything kills unaware or hurt players. I don't need a bolt action rifle for that. Maybe it's because I am absolute trash at this class but in my opinion, Scout is severely underpowered and useless apart from spotting flares and the scope. When you use ironsights and try to fight close range, you are just putting yourself at a massive disadvantage.
Variety? Trying something new? A personal challenge? I don't like scoped rifles, but iron sights give me a sense of satisfaction when being a scout on a flag, not 100+ meters away from it.

Not sure I agree with the sentiment towards the end that the scout is most effective at long range. The two undoubtedly best scout gadgets, the flare gun and the K bullet, are definitely most effective when used from a medium range with cover from your team mates. An infantry rifleman or carbine user can be a very effective squadmate, pushing up with the team, providing spotting, vehicle harassment and quick takedowns against the slower elite classes and stationary emplacements. You're a lot more vulnerable to suppression than the other classes, but the real solution to this is to coordinate with your team, not sit back miles away from the objective with a 10x scope contributing absolutely nothing to your team.
Agree about the M95 being the overall better weapon though. With the straight pull bolt you can pull off a quick two shot body shot kill against infantry and elite classes without having to descope when using the marksman variant, or adjust your elevation when shooting at distant targets without having to descope. I main scout and use the M95 almost exclusively, infantry version for close-quarters maps, carbine for maps with a lot of mid range engagement distances, and marksman variant for big open maps.
Berserkir af Óðinn, English has pretty free stress on syllables. There's nothing more or less intuitive about stressing the first vs the second syllable. Plus, there are a ton of Italian family names in the US with the same stress pattern: Pacino, Montana, Barbera, Stefani, Lombardo, etc. They are all pronounced with the correct stress pattern. Not sure why it would be so hard in this case.
I got 100 kills and 19 deaths while using only the Carcano while playing on Devil’s Anvil operations. Probably one of the best moments I had with this gun regardless of its stats
I find the M.95 is better for me purely because the bolting animation on the Carcano is kinda obstructing, makes it a bit harder for me to track a target.
Guess what? Despite its name; apparently, the Carcano is actually a trench-variant weapon in BF1 (like the Russian trench-variant). Thus, the Carcano is not a straight-up potential replacement for the Gewehr M95 carbine-variant or infantry-variant.
Tbh i feel like iron sights are more accurate at range, i think if you see a scope glint really far away just aim like a few milimeters above it and you'll usually get a hit/kill and you have the advantage because you don't have a glint so they still have no idea where you are
This rifle is better to be compared with the Russian 1895 Trench. It may not have a sweet spot, but getting two shots into someone isn't an issue with this rifle. The lack of a scoped variant is because the Carcano is meant to be played more like a medic rifle than a sniper rifle. The 6 round capacity makes the Carcano significantly better than the M.95 and Russian 1895 Trench, because you essentially have the ability to kill at least 3 people before a reload. That's assuming you don't get any 1 shot kills and you don't miss any shots. As long as you're a fairly experienced sniper that's used to playing aggressive, you shouldn't have an issue using the Carcano.
M95 has a straight pull, meaning you don't have to scope out between cartridges. Having played with both, the lack of the sweet spot really makes the scope worth it when your playing anything other than war pigeons
Honestly bf1 is a pretty awesome game. But the weapon balance/dmg models/weapon mechanics are what turn me off. Love the visuals/locations. Ww2 would be pretty sweet if they don't mess up the basics. keep it simple. No sweet spots. Bring tap fire back

Carcano + Obrez is the the double tap combo. Increase the sight magnification to at least 1.50x with no radium sights for a great sight picture.

The reload is also vastly different. The 95 is always fast, with the Carcano, it depends on how far into your N-block you are.

With the straight pull bolt you can pull off a quick two shot body shot kill against infantry and elite classes without having to descope when using the marksman variant, or adjust your elevation when shooting at distant targets without having to descope. I main scout and use the M95 almost exclusively, infantry version for close-quarters maps, carbine for maps with a lot of mid range engagement distances, and marksman variant for big open maps.
TL;DR, for cqb sniping with a carbine/infantry, variant, use the carcarno, for long range, use the geweher
Carcano with the Bodeo isn’t the worst combo and makes a fun Italian loadout

I actually own one of these rifles, Though mine was used in ww2 rather than ww1. I have the 1938 scout version. Its truely an intesesting rifle

Berserkir af Óðinn, English has pretty free stress on syllables. There's nothing more or less intuitive about stressing the first vs the second syllable.
Plus, there are a ton of Italian family names in the US with the same stress pattern: Pacino, Montana, Barbera, Stefani, Lombardo, etc. They are all pronounced with the correct stress pattern. Not sure why it would be so hard in this case.

They should add a marksman version for this gun, with a slightly better damage, and a Sniper version for the Arisaka.
The 95 gives you an assist as kill from almost any range where's the carcano doesn't plus it's pull animation makes it's rate of fire look slow

I got 100 kills and 19 deaths while using only the Carcano while playing on Devil’s Anvil operations. Probably one of the best moments I had with this gun regardless of its stats

I find the M.95 is better for me purely because the bolting animation on the Carcano is kinda obstructing, makes it a bit harder for me to track a target.

Guess what? Despite its name; apparently, the Carcano is actually a trench-variant weapon in BF1 (like the Russian trench-variant). Thus, the Carcano is not a straight-up potential replacement for the Gewehr M95 carbine-variant or infantry-variant.
Tbh i feel like iron sights are more accurate at range, i think if you see a scope glint really far away just aim like a few milimeters above it and you'll usually get a hit/kill and you have the advantage because you don't have a glint so they still have no idea where you are
The carcano isn’t a 1 shot headshot at all ranges (minimum headshot damage=97) so that’s the balance
This rifle is better to be compared with the Russian 1895 Trench. It may not have a sweet spot, but getting two shots into someone isn't an issue with this rifle. The lack of a scoped variant is because the Carcano is meant to be played more like a medic rifle than a sniper rifle. The 6 round capacity makes the Carcano significantly better than the M.95 and Russian 1895 Trench, because you essentially have the ability to kill at least 3 people before a reload. That's assuming you don't get any 1 shot kills and you don't miss any shots. As long as you're a fairly experienced sniper that's used to playing aggressive, you shouldn't have an issue using the Carcano.
More importantly, what's the range where the damage drops below 75, and you don't get assists count as kills from it?

M95 has a straight pull, meaning you don't have to scope out between cartridges. Having played with both, the lack of the sweet spot really makes the scope worth it when your playing anything other than war pigeons
Why are you trying to use a Iron Sight only rifle at range and then complain about it not having a scope?
I think that you should use it instead of using m.95 infantry and carbine, bit still use the m.95 marksman

Honestly bf1 is a pretty awesome game. But the weapon balance/dmg models/weapon mechanics are what turn me off. Love the visuals/locations. Ww2 would be pretty sweet if they don't mess up the basics. keep it simple. No sweet spots. Bring tap fire back

I just bought battlefield 1 revolution and the premium pass in the same checkout cart for ps4, in downloads it has everything except turning tides and name of the tsar, it has shall not pass and the premium pass addon but not the other 2 current DLCS, i do own them right?
