Made this for 4th of July BBQ. OMG, this was incredible, everyone just raved about this. Even my husband thought this was fabulous. We are not desert people, buty this is one you put in rotation.

I've made this poke cake for decades! 😊 But I put a little bigger holes, like a wooden spoon handle, so it has little pockets of jello. It's really good!

For my topping, I use strawberry pie filling mixed with 1/2 of strawberry icing.

When my Grandpa was in ICU in bad shape after he was doing better and did not need thickened water and could eat, he could eat what ever he wanted, I made him strawberry poke cake cup cakes. He loved sweets. It's so simple but so big on yummy! I make poke cakes a lot for family get together too! I have used lemon cake with strawberry or raspberry jello.
Hi Catherine this looks so good. Found a lovely homestead lady on y tube with home prep'd cake mix using my own ingreds and it's excellent and I just keep it in an airtight jar in the pantry and weigh out the same amount as in a box of mix. I add vanilla sugar to it. Thank you Catherine for all you lovely recipes, I will try this one too.👍💝🙂🇬🇧

Strawberry shortcake is an all time favorite! Adding the jello and fresh whipped cream, oh my, how decadent can you get!🍰🍓🍓🍓😋👍🥄sooo yummy, with fluffy creamy goodness!
I made this yesterday using a sugar free cake mix and sugar free jello. It was a hit!! Even my husband liked it....he is not too keen on sugar free foods.

My mom made this cake when I was a kid, she used the large box and added 2 cups of hot water only, then pored it over the cake, it is very yummy....
