Remember when he shot that rocket launcher when he helped them escape? That was clearly sniper king skills. He caught up to them at the train and started helping them out.

We often tend to ignore the significance of 'rain' in Senor Pink's story.
1. Pink's wife loved rain. It brought her joy and made her dance merrily. She valued rain quite a lot.
2. Pink met his wife on a rainy day.
3. Pink's baby most likely died because of the bad rainy weather.
4. Pink's wife got caught under a landslide caused by heavy rains.
5. It was raining during Pink and Franky's fight. The clouds cleared right after Pink's defeat though tears started streaming from his eyes at the exact same time. So, did the rain really stop?
6. Pink never came to hate 'rain' even after all that because he associated rain with his wife's happiness and not with the sad stuff. In other words, he chose to be optimistic about it.

One Piece is the perfect example of the saying “Its not about the destination, but the journey.” The pacing is kinda slow at first but you’ll get used to it.

@@saolal I treasure OP more then any of the anime you listed so far i've seen them except FMA Brotherhood that's simply the best anime ever created imo. Ok forget anime it's the best SERIES created ever. The OP's, ED's and aside from the 1st episode it's soooo good up till the last second.
But on manga OP is the nr. 1 for me. Elfenlied i got it on DVD and I found it interesting that I kept finding new things in the series after watching it 4 times and I loved it but not on the lvl of OP or FMA.
I also loved Hajime no Ippo and Berserk. MHA and Dr.Stone haven;t seen them, i practically stopped watching anime for 3 years now but OP is keeping me in the scene somewhat and those 2 titles i'm thinking about watching them.

Jojo is like a budget One Piece.. I love Jojo and have been a fan since 2008 but saying that Jojo is in the same tier as One Piece is pretty insulting.. The charms of Jojo is the unique aspects of it, but One Piece completely towers Jojo over that aspect.. Jojo writing wise and character wise are not as good either..
Parts 6-8 of Jojo are the only parts of the series that even have a chance of comparing to One Piece in terms of greatness.. Art, characters, and writing are top notch in those parts, but Jojo as a whole doesn’t come close..

I still probably like Jojo's more then One Piece even though I have cried WAY more at one piece and it's helped me bond with my kids and helped my kids learn to read better. For me Parts 6-8 are just masterful. Steel Ball Run is probably the best manga arc I have ever read.
If we are including the quality of entire runs then I would have to say in anime Jojo's comes way out because the early anime for One Piece is dreadful, with stiff and clunky animations that can often get off model. Even compared to anime that was released at the time it's pretty sub par.

@@SodaNaranja What about the Shonen Jump weekly issues though? Those for some reason aren't counted towards total circulation. There should actually be billions of copies in circulation if they were counted chapter by chapter releases like Batman and Superman.

If you only watch the openings you think that they're always having a fun time but this show actually made me cry twice (for me this is a lot). I highly recommend it.

i can say a beautiful constant in my life has been following one piece every week for the last 20 years.
This is why when someone dismisses One Piece without even giving it a chance - all the OP fans are quick to defend. Not going to lie when I first discovered it back in 2007 I went 10 episodes in and decided the main character was not to my liking + his powers didn’t strike me as “cool”. In 2009 I decided to give it another chance and soon the main character became one of my favorite all time characters with the anime surpassing my favorite anime at the time. If you have the chance, after you’re done with One Piece you should check out HunterxHunter. It’s my second favorite anime and a lot of peoples top 3.

you are missing out if you can't get into it ...its very smart and unlike other series it doesn't feel like its just pulling plot out of its ass seat of its pants it still feels like one story instead of just this happened and then this happened and then this..like it all connects it isn't dragonball where we beat blank and then new villain shows up out of nowhere without set up cause money....shit gets set up 5 years in advance and its subtle about it...sure some stuff is stretched out for money but it all is interesting enough where you will accept the flaws cause the great parts are so great
One piece is an anime despite how many episodes is actually fairly quick to get through. I have seen reaction channels who only started watching One Piece in a month already be at like 300 episodes.
took me 2 weeks to watch through the first 330 episodes... during my college test weeks... somehow made it through both...

Man, I've seen Senior pink's backstory multiple times now and even I started tearing up yet again to it, lol
The fact that I know every SH's favorite food, what they smell like, real world nationality, age and bust size for God sake says enough.
All honestly though, my favorite thing is how he ties in characters you haven't seen for 100s of chapters back into the series. As for the anime, despite Toei's Disneyish interference. The VA's, current animation and early animation, and especially the OST are excellent.
The one thing that makes One Piece my number 1 anime is the relationships between the Staw Hat pirates. You don't get to see the other side of the Straw Hats through videos and openings but it's that other side that makes you actually stay watching.
The Straw Hats are a band of pirates who do good but also inherit the name of pirates due to wanting to live "freely" and doing what they want. That is why the world is so interesting because they play off the idea that does "pirate" really mean bad people or just people who want to sail and live freely? And does the government really mean good people or just law and order that imprison people?
Luffy and his crew may also seem energetic and laid back but you learn that first and foremost they are a pirate crew, when things needs to get done, they get it done. They respect each other and care for each other but they also demand the best out of each other.
My favorite example is when one of the crew member disrespect's Luffy as a captain and threatens to leave, he has forgotten that they are a crew first, and goon of friends second. Luffy was going to easily forgive him because they were "friends".
But another member threatens to leave if Luffy forgives a crew-mate so easily after he was disrespectful to his "captain" or boss. Saying that they are friends for sure, but they are all tide together through mutual respect and one goal in mind, to live freely and achieve their dreams. They are not on a disney pirate ride or some theme park slide. They must demand the best of each other.
This is why I love the Straw Hat's, they are a family but know that they are there to help each other achieve their dreams and not mess around, especially Zoro.
Cool video! The Senor Pink story was a big spoiler for you but it did get you to want to watch/read the series!! From episode 1 to 919+ episodes the story builds up. It has great moments then boring moments but the boring parts are to be remembered cause you never know when one character is important until you see them again or hear about them!

I hesitated to watch OP for years because of how insanely long it seemed, but once I started it took me just a month or two to catch up. Best decision ever tbh
At first One Piece may seem a bit cartoonish but don't worry, it gets much better fairly quickly. One piece just keeps getting better and better each arc. I was personally hooked by around episode 35, which may seem like a lot, but the first 35 were so fun to watch anyway.
If you decide to watch One Piece. Please watch the "One Pace" cut. It's a fan made edit that retires all the filler and unnecessary elongated scenes of the anime so it is more faithful to the original manga. You would safe like 40% of the time (which is hours and hours).

i really enjoyed watching you enjoy this video i did because i already love one piece and at the same time i forget how it felt discovering how cool one piece is in the first time a fall in love with it and today you made me think that how cool it would be to erase one piece from my memories and relove it again and again especially the 4 episode when its all started

If you almost cried over senior Pink, then one piece is for you. It's an emotional roller coaster and beautiful story telling
A little extra note to pay attention to with the sales numbers thing early on:
Batman and Superman have been handled by a variety of artists and authors over the years.
One Piece is the work of _one man_ (and his assistants who help with backgrounds and such). And it's competing with them.
Batman has some 80 years of history behind it and Superman has more than that, while One piece has a bit over 20. _And it's competing with them._
I got into One Piece just by watching random fight scenes and just one day decided to start from Ep 1.. I was hooked ever since.

Love your videos and that you decided to keep watching one piece! It’s one of my favorite series. Another good one to react to would be Hunterxhunter, that one will hit you in the feels. I’ve converted many non-anime fans with it
Another option if you feel like getting into One Piece could be looking up "One Piece: Episode of East Blue, Luffy and His Four Crewmates' Great Adventure". It's a special that's about 2 hours long, but comprises the events of the first major saga (about 5 arcs, and 54 episodes of the anime), basically showing how the strawhats formed up before entering the grand line sea.
The special is a great introduction for newcomers. it was made after SupereyepatchWolf's Video, hence why its not mentioned in it. but it doesn't get more direct than watching 5 arcs in 2 hours with modern 2017 animation :D
well another thing about senior pink is that he was known as a fashionable man but for his wife, he sent his fashion sense to the trash can and wears stuff like that
People probably don't understand how insignificant Senor Pink is. How tiny his part is in the story of One Piece. He's a side character of a side story of side story of the second half of the that arc and and almost every other character with a name in that arc has a similarly devastating story.
When I first saw One Piece on Toonami back in the day I thought it looked ridiculous. Then, when I was in graduate school, I decided to give the subbed uncensored version a try. Instead of doing my work like I was supposed to I binged the first 200 episodes in a week. Then years later I binged from episode 200 to the end of the Dressrosa arc in about a week, two at the most. Now, I'm waiting for the end of the Wano arc for another binge.

I love that you're gonna watch One Piece. It's one of the best stories ever told hands down. Just be patient as it is a bit of a slow burner. But nevertheless, I'd love to see your reactions! You just made a subscriber outta me lol

there are like hour long specials with updated animation they dont go over everything but its good enough to catch up EPISODE OF EAST BLUE
Usually in shounen anime there are bad guys and good guys, but in one piece people like senior pink who is a villain has a reason for the things he does and fights the protagonists to protect them. Every character in one piece is never 100% bad or 100%good they all have reasons and motivation
Loved it! Beware of spoilers, Oda's surprises are legendary and completely worth it.

Fun Fact: As I understand it, Señor Pink's backstory wasn't even originally intended to be in the story. Oda's editor basically forced him to put it in because he thought it was too good to leave out.
Both One Piece films 6 AND 4 are really worth checking out without any prior knowledge.

Super Eye Patch Wolf is the best. It was this video that got me into One Piece. Now, I'm caught up with the Manga. I stopped watching the anime long back. Also, the community discussions around One Piece is awesome. I hope you make it to the end! It's worth it.
Think of their wanted poster bounties as a power level progress to the show. The higher the bounty, the closer they’re getting to their goals.

One Piece ha s been running for over 20 years, it's the only one of the Big 3 to still endure; but it was planned for nearly as long and you can really tell.
I suggest anyone interested in it reads until at least the end of Nami's arc; that will show how deep (and dark) it can get, even at the start.
I watched your reaction to the openings of One Piece and it's incredible how little of the plot you picked up.
I don't mean that in a bad way it's just how amazingly vast and well-written story One Piece is. It starts a little slow but give it a chance and you'll find yourself experiencing a wide range of emotions and develop a love for the world and characters.
i would say that one piece is the only anime that has so much episodes that you can watch in so little time, since when you start it you cant stop, its that addictive!
One piece will take you on massive feel trip. The creator has apologized for making fans cried during several stories. Enjoy the ride and don’t rush it.

One piece is a literal universe much akin to what we see in the west ,to truly appreciate it you have to watch the anime or read the manga up to date. Especially the manga. To capture the spirit of what it really is ,We're following the story of Luffy, but also the lore an history of it.Oda really did make something in the vein of Shakespeare etc I watched it literally as a kid an its touched on many themes throughout its arcs .If ur someone barely starting out, just be patient. it's not the fights nor the comedy ,it's the spirit of it that matters. it's gone beyond Bleach and Naruto , from infighting between Ussop an luffy, to Doffy an what he stands for, going into the yonkou who rule parts of the world, this is that series you care for ,because the characters an motivations matter. to encompass all that this series is in a comment doesn't do it justice
I really go into the One Piece manga when I was in college. They were in the Impel Down arc, where Luffy breaks into a prison to save his brother. It's such a long and exhaustive series, but the pay off is always beyond phenomenal.
I recommend watching from episode1, its amazing from the beginning.

Sort of. The world government is largely corrupt and willing to participate in some of the darkest activities humanity can act out. Luffy, on the other hand, doesn’t really care how the world sees him and is actually excited to have a bounty out on him. He is a free spirit who takes a liking to various people in the places he visits and does what he can to help them, in particular. If he does good in the process, fine. If he doesn’t, he’s also fine with that as long as he leaves his new friend(s) happier than when he met them.
I'd go straight into it and watch the series before checking out the movies. Nice reactions so far, keep em up!
He's right about the movies. Though they aren't normally plot-relevant (with Stampede as an exception) they offer a really good look at what One Piece is all about. Also,don't rush it. Please lol. I'm a huuuuuuge fan of the show and I can say you won't regret a thing! 🤩💙

One Piece was the anime that broke my "don't watch anime" cycle, and even today, I haven't moved on to many others. I even kept watching One piece from dub to sub, making it the first anime for me to bother with subtitles.
That Baron Matsuri Island movie......... I don't understand how can anyone don't like that. It's a dark version of One Piece

I cannot stress this enough this is the show to watch....i highly recommend it to you and you will be satisfied!!!
Counting with approximately 900 episodes, that 300 hours, with an average 1 hour per reaction and schedule, the first watch-through could take some time. Personally, I'm at the 3rd time re-watching and checked the highlighted moments from other reactors. I'd say, take lots of notes but the fandom will help as well.
In the anime it isn’t the role that decides if your good or bad it’s the things you do that decides if your hood or bad, in one ep luffy tells a marine that he likes him and he’s a good guy
They do bad but good things, since their pirates their not all set to be titled a hero or do all good things , at that point how even are they a pirate? Luffy those what’s also right tho, he sees people starving or even trauma and tried to help even if it breaks the law.
If you start watching One Piece. We will come for the ride! I can watch it over and over again. Pure class! You have no idea how fun it was watching SuperMecha Frieza and my gal Anime chan watchining One piece again. Its the ride of a lifetime! Goda killing it!!!!!
id recommend Totally Not Marks blind one piece review where he reviews and comments one piece arc by arc. Its currrebtly up to date and its a VERY good watch for anyone who want to know if one piece is for them

Echiro Oda is not a fen of happy backstories xD pretty much around 99.9% of backstories are heartbreaking..soo if you ever watch one piece, prepare to cry...i mean the storytelling is so good it can makes you cry like 10 days for a boat...do yea don't be fooled, you gonna cry a lot

I feel that manga/anime in general gets a bad rap, especially here in the U.S. One of the cool things about manga/anime in general is that there is something for everyone, of any age. Doesn't matter what genre, or what you are into, you can find something for you. From really dark things, to very light-hearted. Like sports? There's something for you Like drama? Something for you. Comedy? Same. Action? Same. Literally anytthing and everything is available. In Japan, anime/manga are like normal tv shows or books. Even comics here are mostly for a certain age demographic (although that's been changing here in the past few years.) It's amazing...
