i love seeing someone completely brand new to the show reacting to the openings and guessing about the story! one piece is one of my favorite anime/manga series and i'm glad you seem to like it so far from the ops and appeal of one piece video. the person behind the character design is the original creator Eiichiro Oda.

I find the excuse “the story is to long” a very bad reason for something not wanting to start one piece, I mean don’t you wish some of your favorite shows could just go on forever? If you watch one piece and enjoy it who cares it’s long as long as you enjoy the journey and then once you catch up you start wishing there were more episodes out
I think people get too caught up on wanting to be part of the current discussion rather than enjoying the story itself. Which isn't an insult - the social aspect is one of the main reasons to get into any piece of media, really - but I think people feel obligated to finish or get caught up with something just so they can be current and thus "valid" in discussions, but that comes at the expense of enjoyment of the media itself a lot of the time, I find. OP isn't a race, it's a marathon. Just enjoy it as you can - and if it turns out you don't have enough time, that's cool too, no harm in dropping it. Whatever time you spent watching wasn't wasted if you enjoyed that part too, right..?

@@sonicmanic2556 True. It's just hard to get people to commit to something as long as One Piece, which I don't really blame them if they don't commit.
Its pretty selfish just to assume ppl should love a show without even seeing, therefore they should commit themselves to starting it due so it’s longevity as they would their favorite TV show if it went as long. It’s not really an excuse as to people are just unsure to start a story they don’t know if they can finish. Plus 90% of people who watch OP have at least 5 years ahead of everyone to start. That’s another 250 episodes alone. Or even finish within a certain time frame so they don’t need to keep rewatching stuff after maybe months or years of not watching it. One Piece already tripled the total hours of longest running shows that are one long story. That’s why so many people started during quarantine because they know they can at least get far enough to where they won’t need to rewatch it or fall off too early in the series
Trying to figure out this anime with the openings is like trying to figure out the universe simply by looking at the night sky with the naked eye. 😂

For the 15th anniversary opening those outfits are just a design to celebrate! They don’t actually wear it in the story
God i miss when i first started the series, it was the best binge i ever had back in the day right next to binge watching Bleach around 2014.

lol i love binging shit with naruto and bleach i've been on since 2007 so i was stuck with waiting a week (and boy i wouldn't wish waiting through them fillers on anyone) for majority of their run. but one piece didn't air on tv like that (from canada) so i got into it around 2010 so like the episode i caught up on was right when kuma sent all them asses out of saboady. wish i got into it at least after the marine ford arc to binge that beauty but beggars can't be choosers huh lol.

One piece is the only anime where every character looks so different in design that you could have a character like goku or naruto in there and you would never feel like they are out of place in the story .

Gary4 DLC and she actually guessed right a couple times. She’s very very perceptive. More so than any other blind reaction I’ve seen of the one piece intros.

generally, most of the plot stuff is in and around the chorus lines.
for opening 19, only the last verse matters.
opening 22 has almost no filler, aside from some out-of-context stuff.
the scenes of the crew doing stuff on the ship and every single shot of them with treasure are purely opening fluff. they never happen.

I love that you haven't seen the show yet, but you're already saying things like "Zoro and Sanji are going at it again, of course." And just picking up on the different character relationships. I think one of the main reasons I like watching these Opening reactions is because I like seeing what people deduce from them.

for opening 20 22:22 that was.... the most accurate you've ever been. not 100% right, but very good for a single watch, without any pauses or rewinds.
On one of the openings you actually see shanks give luffy the hat he is wearing right now _not luffy giving the hat to a younger version of himself _ , thats a fun throwback to the first episodes.
It seems you got a new haircut since the last OnePiece openings, and it really suits you

Oh, the things we see in the opening dont necessarily happen. So you don't need to take it too litterally. That said its not like the openings are unconnected to current events in the series, but the actual events dont always match.
And sometimes they just slip in some random in there.
This show will take on the greatest journey ever written. Believe me when I say you’ll laugh, cry, and specially your gonna get pumped with epic moments. Great reaction. Oh yeah you are beautiful!!

Like it or not, One Piece is the most beloved, popular and best-selling manga of all time...that means you're not the one who gets to ask others to "explain" why they think its good while you think its bad. You're the one who has to "explain" why you differ, not others. Trying to generalize OP in such simple words just means its not for you, as there's far more to the story than what you said earlier. Its ok to not like something other people like, but when you say something like "its the worst of the big 3" (lol) despite 99% of the world clearly disagreeing, then maybe its time to accept that maybe its not the rest of the world that has "unique" or "strange" taste, but rather, maybe its you who has it?

I gotta be honest I was mad when she said why did he give the hat to a smaller version of him. What actually happened was that roger gave the hat to shanks and shanks give it to luffy.

In opening 15 it was Shanks who put the hat on Luffy. That was funny you thought it was luffy putting a hat on another Luffy
The X was when Zoro got hypnotised by Zango and slashed at Luffy. Unironically, that and the eye-scar are the only consistent visible scars on Luffy.
No. That was a filler arc. The scar disappears at the end of if. The scar on luffy's chest was from Akainu when he was leaving the war if the best at marineford.

Sanji was forced the marry the daughter of a famous pirate. This pirate is very famous and has spies all over the world and has a lot of military power. if he didnt marry then the one who raised Sanji, his father figure would get his head chopped off. As his adoptive father is thousands of miles away, he couldn't do anything
i have to say you looked much much better with longer hair you reminded me a lot of robin when she still had a brown tan and wore hair down .Anyway but you if you like your haircut then my opinion doesn’t matter .

I know you get tons of comments but I really hope this one doesn't get lost.
Watching One Piece can be very daunting and starting it can be hard especially if you don't know Japanese but a lot of One Piece has been dubbed into English but the English dub is behind by about 300 or so episodes. Assuming you want to watch this legally the best site is probably just www.funimation.com/shows/one-piece/ which has both the English and Japanese versions and is free with ads but watching it without ads would only cost $5.99 a month and you could watch this and other anime on the platform.
Another thing to note is that One Piece has some filler episodes which stop following the plot of the manga and you can watch them if you want but they can be very bad at times. This website here will tell you exactly which episodes are skippable. www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece
I hope this has helped in some way and I hope you keep doing this series I really enjoy your take on the world of One Piece and it is really fun to basically reexperience this show for the first time through someone else's eyes.

The guy with the Red hair and Scar is named Red Hair Shanks, he is one of the most powerful pirates in the world, but he is also Luffy's inspiration and main reason he became a pirtate. He gave Luffy his Straw Hat after he sacrificed he Left arm to save a drowning 7 year old Luffy. and Luffy told him he will be king of the pirates so he gave him his hat and said "return this to me when you are a great pirate"

The design is made by the author of the story. The storytelling is the real gold is this series, how everything fit together. It is not all about Luffy, it really follows every corner of the world and character like a flie. The world feels really real. And the author shows you a lot of emotional storier. We fans often call him Oda the troll, because his first name is Oda and he likes to troll with our emotions. He's like a puppetmaster or a God'a, who always know where our emotions are and how to crack them. He is like a massage for the brain:)

You should definitely check out the Naruto & Bleach openings, which are in my opinion some of the best openings in anime.
EDIT: Just saw you already did naruto so i'm going to watch that next but you should definitely check out the Bleach openings
If youre not gonna watch the series, Ill tell you about your theories: Pink haired girl really is Sanjis sister and he has 3 brothers , also Sanji did marry, but he escaped from the marriage cause it was violent marriage. In 20 and 21 openings Strawhat members were separated from each other, but in last opening they back to each other.
