I think most writers would agree that we write because we have to! I’m really glad I’ve found your channel. I also write, knit, embroider, and bake sourdough. So fun to see someone like me on the other side of the pond!
Oh, Rachel, you are such a sweet light here on the Tube of You. ;) Don't feel at all badly about taking a break from Vlogmas. I honestly don't know how all the people who do it keep up with daily schedule. It is So Much! Also, I am not usually one to go pick up a new book just because someone I follow online wrote it...but I cannot wait to see how your book turns out. It just sounds like it will check all the boxes for me. In the meantime, take care of yourself. :)
I so appreciate your honestly about your illness, as a fell chronic illness sufferer. I love the idea of doing the next task. I think I need to incorporate that into my life.
Recently found your channel! I’m having so much fun binge-watching! Your videos are so personal and charming! Thank you!! Watching from the the USA - (Iowa)
Also - I’ve been admiring your nails so I love it that you shared your ritual/brand! I’ll have to check them out! Thank you for your honest conversation. Really enjoyed hearing your thought process and reflections on it! Don’t you love it how God works - not quite the book you dreamt of writing for your first book but it is the book you needed to write! The book He wanted you to write! Can’t wait to read it!
I hope you have a lovely weekend and take some time to yourself💞. As for your book, it sounds absolutely amazing. Give yourself some grace, ask God to guide you, and it will work out the way it’s supposed to. I too use farmhouse on Boone’s basics sourdough recipe. Our Gabled Home is another great resource, I love Anja’s German rye sourdough recipe. Sending healings thoughts and prayers your way🙏❤️
Two hours a day is pretty much the average for a healthy writer, so you are more than hitting your target. If this is the first draft, your voice will arrive later in the process and then during the editing phase you can fine tune your voice for consistency. I find that each project requires a different voice, and what comes naturally to you during the writing will be the right voice for your book. We all use various voices to suit the occasion, for example, my mother had a ‘telephone voice’. Trust the process. Your editor and any beta readers will provide feedback (if they haven’t already, in which case you’re fine). And while it seems a long time, 30 is actually very young for a debut book. Many authors aren’t published until their 50s and beyond. You have got this. Your faith will agree with me.❤
What I mean by the above is that as a writer with chronic fatigue, you’re doing more than enough. Keep your pace steady and ask your publisher for an extension. X
