Welcome to the 14th episode of the Texas Plinking 1 MOA At 1,000 Yards Challenge. A monthly video series where I let 5 fans come out with their equipment and attempt to shoot a 10" gong at 1,000 yards in under 10 shots. If they hit it, they can use their remaining shots on the 5" gong. The 10" gong is worth 10 points and goes down 1 point after every shot. The 5" gong is worth 20 points and goes down 2 points after every shot. Once both are hit, the challenge is complete and each unfired round is an additional point. New episodes go live on the 1st Monday of every month!

If you go with sections of old fire hose, instead of chains. You'll get clean pass thru with support hardware. Just saying it what I use. Thinking out loud

I’ve shot a CA Ridgeline in 6.5 PRC out to 1150 yds with a Maven RS 1.2 2.5-15 scope. My target is 2 MOA, and I am able to make reliable hits with it and spot my hits through the scope.
The shooter’s form was awful. Kept switching support hand positions, adjusted the rifle position and didn’t adjust his body position, his trigger pull was…..unique.
It is possible to make long shots with a lightweight hunting rifle, but your fundamentals have to be even better than when shooting a heavy gun. Every tiny movement is magnified.

It's never to late. As long as your not from the following places you can fill out our application. 🎉
      1. California
      2.New York
      3. Washington state
      4. Oregon
      5. Massachusett
      6 .Deleware.
A new law just passed last month that "Requires" all Texas males over the age of 25 to deport every man, woman, or child that's illegally immigrated here back to where they came from within 2 business days of capture. It's basically bounty hunting. Texas Supreme Court approved 7-1 in favor of deportation. All my homies are pumped up about the new law for several reasons.
      1. Texas gained 3,,116.5 new people per day in 2023' that's 17% more than 22'. We can't stand these idiots from New York, California, Oregon, Washington state. They f'd there states they came from so badly they had to leave.now there F'ING up Texas two.
      2. It's a great boost to our local economy and its helping all of us financially because they're paying $1,000 / arrest. It's basically bounty hunting.
      3. It's aton of fun! We having been rounding them up by the dozens around my little home town. They're was a nest of them 200 meters behind my house. I caught 6 of them by myself. It's hilarious, they are such a bunch of weenies, they usually cry and flop around on the ground screaming how they're gonna tell their moms on us. They're usually super easy to spot with blue, or pink hair. However it's quite difficult trying to gender them correctly most often times.
I called a meeting with my homies yesterday to remind them to behave themselves or we could loose our newly gained privileges .
So it's actually a little to fun. Then throw in the $10k per month were all
Making and its probably not gonna last much longer before they revoke the new law.
So you better hurry or your gonna miss the party going on right now across the whole state. It's Texas Justice

I don’t know much about shooting except that it’s really hard at distances of 1 mile, but I see shooters adjusting scope before the first shot, lots of gun and body/position movement between shots and most baffling is a tight group that is consistently a foot or more from the target….. I don’t get it. If you’re consistently aiming for the center of your target and your shot consistently lands a foot to the right… wouldn’t you adjust your aim a foot to the left to compensate? No offense or insult to these guys…I know nothing…. But can you explain it to me?

    • @rpink06
      @rpink06 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Shooter error is typically the culprit, related to shooting technique and the shooter’s ability to leverage the advantages of the the specific rifle, optics, and load. Mastering the techniques takes time and experience, and no lack of training from folks who know what they’re doing. The guys in these videos make 1000yd shooting look easy with their near misses…it’s not. Movie and TV screens show the target fixed in the crosshairs…it isn’t. At 1000yds, a 5”diameter fixed target is in constant, and sometimes dramatic motion against the reticle, as a function of shooter’s stability, pulse rate, wind gusts, etc. Temperature, cardinal direction of shot, azimuth to target and a host of other variables must be measured and properly accounted for before touching the trigger…and especially wind. At that range, the projectile will pass through multiple winds of variable energy and direction, and it’ll move the projectile left, right, and even up and down, on its path down range. This one’s an obstacle that takes experience behind the rifle…and luck…to overcome. Long range rifle is challenging and fun, and the competitors are amazingly open and helpful with one another. Make a point of trying your hand at it; you’ll be glad you did!

Even with a rifle that can shoot well under 1/2 minute at that range....playing the wind was something I just wasn't good enough at doing to score well. Unless it was totally calm I sucked BAD. Calm the rifle could hit clay pigeons 5 out of 5 but that didn't happen often. Kudos to these fellows!

For the affordable builds for rest of us, I think well tuned 308 with handloads perform consistently on this show. I would go for that 6mm BRA, the other episode the guy on it on second shot!

I love this!!!!!! iv watched every episode...only ever shoot out to 120 yards and only ever used what you would call hunting rifles/ swedish mauser. Haha i really really want to get funds up to get a nice scope and crono a cartridge and see what i can do with a balistic app but probably with out ....problem is there is no place i can find in western NC that i could shoot past 200...darn texas would be nice

I have a feeling that the verticle stringing with semiautos is due to the cartridge temp rising higher due to the round cooking in the chamber for longer.

Hi Brandon. I watch each episode. I look at the mirage and the flag behind the targets to read the wind. However, it seems that some of the guys read it different or not at all. I was wondering whether you could ask each shooter after he/she shot how they read the wind.
