Contrary to the general opinion, this is actually a very bad way to make a cup of cappuccino for several reasons. 1. Taste of coffee depends on if not precise, then atleast somewhat measured quantity used. 2. Espresso grind is actually the wrong grind for this job (which shouldn't be used with a Cafetiere (French press) in the first place. 3. Your coffee, your milk, your water, none of it was measured in ratio, which by itself, any expert will tell you is a huge blunder. 4. Notice how discolored your coffee is. Both the extracted brew and the final cup. That makes for a weak coffee which will not taste good and you'd have to add a lot of sugar just to make it tolerable. I am not trying to troll you. Just that brewing a good cup is a lot more measurement and a lot less "throwing it all in, in the right order." Hope you don't mind.
Hi, I'm Rajeev and I'm a total douche of a coffee snob. Her da der.I know everything about anything on coffee. her da der der der. That was my interpretation at least. Anyone else read it that way?
Venatrik No, he just knows his shit. I never cared for coffee until I tried it from a French press. It is pretty damn good. My roommate doesn't do any of the "fancy" stuff, but It is still tastes better than a pot. I'm excited to learn how to make a perfect coffee. Since for me, It is a rare treat.
Not even close. This is a drink of another name. It's basically sweet, hot milk that wishes it could have more than a drop of "coffee." Nice effort, but it is not anything close to a cappuccino. The instant cappuccino machine at McDonald's would be closer than this.
Fantastic... I'm throwing out my Nespresso machine, TODAY. Who the heck needs a perfect cappuccino in 5 minutes, when you can do it in 35, and waste 3 gallons of water. ; D
I think Keurigs are very wasteful with all although my parents use the french press and I think a good machine - not a big one is superior. I am cleaning up that french press which has to be hand washed out that they use. I also wouldnt have an espresso or a cappuccino machine even if someone gave it to me for free. Still the french press is inefficient and complicated and silly especially in this day and age
+Josiah Michael Thank you! I am very new to brewing coffee (always made instant coffee at home) but that espresso grind in the French Press seemed contradictory to all I read.
***** I don't yet have an espresso machine, but that doesn't mean I'm going to use my other methods of brewing coffee incorrectly to compensate. If all you have is a French Press, then put some coarse grounds in it and make some delicious coffee.
Neropatti the trouble though is this video is “how to make cappuccino”. If it were about making coffee the way you like it, it would be a different ball of wax-
Nice video, but what was that?, where's the capuccino? I can imagine the taste, terrible, try with just a shot of esspreso and frothed milk next time 😉
And with 4 table spoons sugar you can now simply enjoy a sirup with a hint of coffee because espresso through french press is JUST AWUFULL..could work as an idea but would taste like laundry water..
Please don't pour coffee grounds down the sink. They don't decompose and will build-up in septic tanks or become solid waste in city processing plants. Just dump some hot water in the press onto the grounds, swirl it around a few times and dump everything in another container and then toss it on the lawn or under a bush or on the tomatoes.... If solids get into the septic "field" it will clog it up. Hope you have five thousand dollars for a new septic field.
Fudge Dunker Sorry - it's true. If you don't believe it put coffee grounds in water into a sealed jar and put it anywhere for a decade - still grounds later... try it.
Haha that was informative but a very dramatic and long production of it! Try shortening it up, easier less dramatic background music, cut out obvious steps like cleaning out the coffee grounds and adding sugar.
Woah, thought I was on the sbs channel watching one of their european movies. I mean, the ending was pretty intense as well! The spoon just kept going and going. totally unpredictable for me.
I don't know if you need five minutes to show that you should heat up the milk and put in the french press to froth it, then add it to the pre-brewed coffee. That took what a 20 seconds to read if you move your lips slowly? On the plus side your camera work is good. You may want to go into making commercials, very slick..
I really hate to join the throng of dissenters; do know that I'm sure you're a great person! However - this isn't a cappuccino. That must contain espresso, which isn't a type of bean or ground, but refers to the method, involving a pressurised flow of water over a certain sample of finely ground coffee. As others have said, this is more latte macchiato. A weak one too (why do that to the coffee in the French press?!)
This is a great video with even better music and the comments are very entertaining. I prefer a much stronger coffee with less milk and no sugar at all.
you have no idea what a cappuccino is or how is actually made. The only thing you got right is that you can use the french press for frothing the milk, but what you made was a cheap and fast late when you have no other way to make one. You never use instant espresso or pre grinned coffee, never ever ever ever dump the milk in like that because cappuccino is only foam at the top whereas late is foam plus the milk in the espresso but you can still see 3 layers of color, And last but not least NEVER dump sugar after you make your coffee, that is plain lame..especially if actually did all the good work to make proper cappuccino yourself.
Contrary to almost every comment I've seen here, I'd like to say that I would not be opposed from trying this glass of coffee. It looks lovely to me, despite the fact that the grinds are wrong for the press, etc. etc.... It's a make-shift method to begin with, therefore lowering "correctness" standards may be a good idea.
Overall rather informative, perhaps an area of improvement in this clip is the way when yo stir the coffee. It'll be more hygienic if oyu use a longer stirrer since you're usingn a long cup.
I was shocked to see how much water is wasted making ONE cup of cappuccino! Being farmers in South Africa, I am super sensitive to water wastage! As they say, one day war will be about water, not gold....then I won't even mention how bad this cappuccino looks.....
About the only thing that I learned from this video is that you can get skim milk to foam by "agitating" it in a French Press. Personally, I would NEVER drink the "final product" but then I'm a self-admitted coffee snob.
just to jump on the advice bandwagon, if you're heating up water to 200 degrees to make a coffee thats supposed to be extracted at 200 degrees, don't pour the water into another vessel (cup) first - you're cooling down your water by 4-7 degrees right there, by the time it hits your coffee it's probably around 190 which is not hot enough.
omg that's a lot of SUGAR!!!! and you wasting alot of water LOL however i will try it :) thanks i would sub white with brown sugar and only one tsp ** you packed it
I've been making espressos and cappuchinos for years now. This is the sorriest excuse for a cappucino. Would you like some coffee with that milk? A good cappuccino always starts with a good espresso, which is marked by a good golden crema top of just pure coffee. This is why you can't make a good cappuccino or espresso, with a french press. You can make french press coffee with a french press. Hens the name, french press.
my father make cappuccino boil the milk when it boil get cup put coffee and sugar put the boil milk in the cup so is cappuccino Try it!! it really good then him
couple of tips 1. Raise your coffee to water ratio... much more coffee 2. Never boil the milk. Max temp 65 celsius 3. Be more selective when you edit, use less of the footage
Where I come from thats called a glass of milk.
Never in my life have I ever been this angry after watching a video
***** hahahahahh, thank you
+1pnguin I am glad it is not only me
+1pnguin if he/she was going to use that little amount of water to extract, was using a french press really necessary?hahaha
worst coffee i ever seen so much sugar weak coffee
Same here bro! Wtf was this!
would you like some coffee with your sugar?
hhhhhhhhh
Exactly my thought
maybe you should've to renamed, "how to clean a french press and glass with a lot of water". whatever.
Your techniques for making a cappuccino are wretched but nice quality of video, angles, and music.
Anyone else feel bad for the french press after watching this?
I do!!! X.x
Yeah me too :)
✋🏼 Yup!!
You ain’t kiddin’
That is the weakest french press coffee I have ever seen made in my life
I don't know what you're doing, but it's not coffee
i think i contracted diabeetus from all that sugar he poured in
WTF?! At first I was outraged, after the second time and reading the comments I just had to laugh at the end of the video, laughed so hard I cried XD
Don't know if this was a joke or serious lol

Venatrik
no
In my opinion, it's just too over complicated. I put hot milk in the press, add coffee, stir, wait, press, done. Good enough for me, at least. :)
I make cappuccinos this way. However, I do use the appropriate grind which is very important.
this was so intense to watch i felt like i was coming of age
bendystraw lol I’m dying
thank you for including how to rinse a drinking glass. invaluable footage like this make this whole video a winner
Easy on the milk...jesus
Easy on the sugar
Not even close. This is a drink of another name. It's basically sweet, hot milk that wishes it could have more than a drop of "coffee." Nice effort, but it is not anything close to a cappuccino. The instant cappuccino machine at McDonald's would be closer than this.
Savannah Lewis speakin of hot milk....
ugh scrapping of metal spoon on Teflon
Needs more sugar.
/sarcasm
+Sylwester Grega Why not just pour the anemic ersatz coffee into the sugar bowl?
Did you just add 4 teaspoons of sugar to 50-80ml of espresso?
Should be titled: "How to make a useless video"
Such a weak coffee. This is an insult to coffee 😐
+cravenpeak12 yeah but its an improvement to milk
+Drexston More like coffee milkshake lol
omg, its the wrongest way to make cappucino.
Jason Artcraft toetully da wrongeyest
Fantastic... I'm throwing out my Nespresso machine, TODAY. Who the heck needs a perfect cappuccino in 5 minutes, when you can do it in 35, and waste 3 gallons of water. ; D
+brandon rodddypiper I accept PayPal.
+brandon rodddypiper With that amount of sugar I'm sure you're right
+Fat Bastard Pipes nespresso is for the lazy ppl, and for those who don't rly care for the coffee taste.

That's not even a cappuchino, It is a glass of hot milk. A latte Macchiato
that is so much sugar got dame! you are gonna lose a leg to diabetes
that's a glass of milk with a hint of weak coffee
yea he made tea not coffee lol
Gross - so much sugar
Espresso coffee is finely ground and put under intense pressure to brew. it's not something I would ever put in a French press.
+Josiah Michael Thank you! I am very new to brewing coffee (always made instant coffee at home) but that espresso grind in the French Press seemed contradictory to all I read.
+Josiah Michael Most people don't have and/or cant afford an espresso machine. So we work with what we have.
*****
I don't yet have an espresso machine, but that doesn't mean I'm going to use my other methods of brewing coffee incorrectly to compensate. If all you have is a French Press, then put some coarse grounds in it and make some delicious coffee.
WTF ?! More sugar, more sugar !!!
Ha ha! So much hate on this video. Everyone should be allowed to drink their coffee how they like it.
Neropatti the trouble though is this video is “how to make cappuccino”. If it were about making coffee the way you like it, it would be a different ball of wax-
The coffee doesn't look strong enough. But frothing the milk with the French press is a clever idea I'll try it out.
Nice video, but what was that?, where's the capuccino? I can imagine the taste, terrible, try with just a shot of esspreso and frothed milk next time 😉
And with 4 table spoons sugar you can now simply enjoy a sirup with a hint of coffee because espresso through french press is JUST AWUFULL..could work as an idea but would taste like laundry water..
warm sweet milk might taste better than "laundry water" but is not my idea of a cappuccino.
its a beautifully made video.
You need a bigger spoon to mix the sugar. I would not want your fingernails dirt in my drink
The cappuccino really needs to be that weak? Looks like tea with milk :/
But it's a really beautiful video though!
More sugar plz

This is entirely false. Please don't post misinformation.

q7wasp7 No it won't... Water keeps running through.
@@q7wasp7 No. I'm a Network Service Technician for Thames Water. I'm telling you it's fine.
the color of coffee liquor was poor.i wouldn't torture my French press like that! n sugar!!!!
Haha that was informative but a very dramatic and long production of it! Try shortening it up, easier less dramatic background music, cut out obvious steps like cleaning out the coffee grounds and adding sugar.
beautifully filmed and the background music is gorgeous
Woah, thought I was on the sbs channel watching one of their european movies. I mean, the ending was pretty intense as well! The spoon just kept going and going. totally unpredictable for me.
too funny!
Well, at least in Europe we know how to actually make coffee. This was just too sad to watch. total waste of coffee and time in my opinion
Skim Milk with 4 spoons of sugar? wowww
That's not a cappucino...and it is too much sugar !!!!!!
LOL.... skim milk .... uh .... okay......
I remember my first beer.
best milkshake recipe ever!
I don't know if you need five minutes to show that you should heat up the milk and put in the french press to froth it, then add it to the pre-brewed coffee. I find a lot of TH-cam videos are ruined because they are not edited efficiently.
This isn't one of the ruined ones
Omg how much sugar can a coffee need
This video is just plain beautiful. I felt almost hypnotized watching it. The music, ah just everything was phenomenal.
I really hate to join the throng of dissenters; do know that I'm sure you're a great person!

It's a wasting of the coffee, milk,sugar... lol..."So weak coffee,it couldn't defend itself" 😀
This is a great video with even better music and the comments are very entertaining. I prefer a much stronger coffee with less milk and no sugar at all.
French press idea for frothing milk is incredible, I tried it just now and it turned out to be a sensation
The plethora of knowledge received from this video has so encompassed my soul that I fear that I will never learn anything as good as what I just saw.
you have no idea what a cappuccino is or how is actually made. Crappy coffee, nice music what was it anyone ?
Ira Gershwin Wow, thanks Ira :)
Definitely wrong music there man. Try bossa nova or something like that, better.
Demasiada agua desperdiciada para "enjuagar" los utensilios.
Filtering espresso grounds with a french press filter, Yum! Mouth feel = sand
i can't even see the coffee. are you sure you know how to make coffee with french press ?
Conflagration de Lait WeakSauccino Instinkerator
Are you diabetic? If so, you should cut down on the sugar.
why are you using a tom collins glass for coffee?
Oh christ is that instant coffee?
u don't need to show us how you wash your glass and French press. boooooo wasting our time
He should've just used his finger to stir that drink
😏your coffee is not black put 2more spoon
That's one weak ass cappuccino...
This one is a true TH-cam gem, bless you patty ☝️
respect! i liked your manual effort on frothing the milk. epic!
oh noo.. there goes my cappuccino.
I have never wasted so much time in my life
DSLR camera beginner...
What kind of water boiler is that?
a waste of milk and coffee. This video should be removed
This was kind of an intense video.
Holy sugar batman

was that enough sugar?
Are you serious???
why not 5 spoons of sugar huh 😆
your coffee is too fine
Lose the music.
wouw, 4 spoons of sugar !

I thought you could damage your French press by using espresso ground coffee in it...?
You will need:
Skim Milk, Espresso, French Press, Sugar, Cup, Kettle, and a pot. AND BORED
he made au lait :)

using espresso manual like Presso ROK and froth the milk with french press, the taste its better and similar with cappucino with espresso machine
omg that's a lot of SUGAR!!!! and you wasting alot of water LOL however i will try it :) thanks i would sub white with brown sugar and only one tsp ** you packed it

Lindo vídeo, linda trilha sonora, mas faltou café! Aqui no Brasil isso chama-se chafé (café super fraco).
