8:32 and one more thing about chasing mercenaries is that even if u do down them and chair them, they take eons to die on chair and that is where ur time gets wasted as well
"Dont rescue immediately" Omg please, give me at least 5-10 seconds to plan out an exit route, I dont even have time to process what's happening when people get me out the chair the moment I got in! T-T
Here are the hunter that need instant rescue: Hell ember. He build up rage when you are around and he doesn't need to camp. The Feaster. More time mean more tentacle. Joseph. Can pop a second camera. You will get stress out due to the countdown of both the chair and camera world. Guard 36. He can do set up given enough time. Soul weaver. Set up a death trap, the longer you wait the more thread she accumulates. Mad eye. More time, more wall, more stress.
how about not emoting at all in the exit gate, especially if you see the hunter coming. Like if they aren't around sure, but emoting at the hunter can(is) considered a toxic gesture as they are a player too - even if they are on the opposite side. ESPECIALLY if it's a four man escape. like come on, you've already outplayed the hunter - don't rub salt in the wound, it's bad sportsmanship imo. The same goes for hunters, don't emote while a survivor is on the chair. Hell, I don't emote at all unless it's a friendly match bc i find the emoting thing just... insulting for both parties. like yes, i get it, it's "supposed" to be a taunt to provoke and yes, it works - but is it really necessary?? I've been on both sides and getting emoted at while chasing is frustrating, insulting, and annoying. It doesn't help me play at all, it makes me want to make your queue times even longer by being one less hunter player. Especially when I'm lower ranked than the survivors I'm going against. Like its almost a given you guys are gonna run me into the ground, no point in emoting me while you do it. I've also been emoted at while on chair and hit while on chair - not fun and extremely eye rolling like - ''okay you caught me? big deal". I went off an a tangent sorry, I'm just tired of emoting kiters and hunters hitting/emoting at chair. it's ridiculous.
I'm a saberthoot but I went against Griffin and Alicorns, they almost always emote... then just say we are sorry like what-- you are not, if u were, you wouldn't emote from the start
Emoting is not toxic for me. Some hunters emote after chairing too. They even hit the chair many times to taunt me.I never get offended by that. However,if you are the last survivor, just leave. Don't waste other people's time. This one time, our victory became tie because of this one survivor who kept taunting near the exit gate. I felt mad because he made us tie but also happy because the hunter got the survivor. I hope that stupid player learned his/her lesson😬
I once played axe boy in ranked, I already caught two people and there were only two other people left at the other gate. I was sure it was open since I don’t have a persona trait for slow opening and it’s been quite some time. I didn’t have tp ready either so I was just basically waiting for the game to end. But it didn’t. So I went by myself all the way to that gate and all I saw was prisoner with embalmer emoting, I downed prisoner with my detention and chaired him right at the gate. Got a win :) Edit: I also have stories of me emoting even at the closed gate (waiting for someone else to open it) and throwing a match or emoting at chaired survs (I emoted only if they graffitied at me or idk they flirted with me pre match) and not noticing a rescue coming
Multiple times my teammates emoting made us lose or tie. i only emote while kiting cause i think its funny asf, but i always make it clear that i mean it in a non toxic way
Originally, the B4U team gave the doll the nickname George I think, and that then turned into a running gag and now almost the entire idv community calls him George
Dont decode together at the beginning, If someone down too early better save before they die and priority cyphers more. See the message on the mini map to know the cyphers teammate are decoding, also it can help you know how many cyphers are done and decide when to decode or go to save. Also it can help you dont die near undone cyphers. Knowing the spawn the spot, the most underrated one, this can help you kite without disturb teammate and know where the hunter is at the beginning. Learn and understand each hunter mechanic to kite them. Timing hunter teleport at end game
It always annoyed me a lot when I first get knocked down, especially when the hunter was a photographer! I've been using advice like this since I got back into the game last year and it's a very useful tip by the way. I also recommend to look around at the start of the game near your cipher machine to be sure that hunter didn't go to your side
Prospector, enchantress and batter can harass but they are kiters for a reason. Not proper harassers. Harassers like forward and wildling have speed boost or increased pallet dropping/vaulting speed allowing them to escape but also aid their teammates better.
Balloon rescues as prospector are mostly too risky to do, and about enchantress, unless you have more than 3 stacks, her short stun doesn't help at all. So their abilities is more used to help they kite (or help someone kite late game)
Controlling the camera is hard for me. If I'm looking back, I can't see the path in front of me and sometimes ended up stucked against the wall or rock that makes the distance between me and the hunter getting closer. 🗿
use seer,i learn to look back while kiting when i use seer before since i need to charge owl..🤣 its hard but when u get used to it will feel more better and better for next kiting experience
actually if you're playing painter and the hunter is near you'll just need to look back to get the hunters appearance cuz if you won't you will probably die soon when you're bad at kiting so im guessing if you play as painter you can learn on how to look back while kiting
You dont have to keep looking back. The goal is to look forward to see where you are going and o On frequent occasions look back where the hunter is. If that's difficult try looping around a low wall with 1 or 2 pallets, you can look at the huntrr while going around the loop
Me as a photographer main hope that survivors won't learn some of these tips, but props to you! Especially bc of the stuff about mech, because most people instant save me as mech and I can't decode. :')
its not really toxic, its just kinda a bad strategy yk? you can get pushed into the exit by getting downed, therefor the win is secure, but if you do it outside and get downed, you’ll likely lose bc you wont have room to crawl to the gate/ there aren’t many hunters that will give you that win. Not rude, just unsmart, yk?
My friend recommended this game. When I was a beginner I was a bit scared because I didn’t know what to do. I remember my friend told me to always be near pallet areas to kite, but I always close the pallet on the wrong side and that's how I die. 😂
i also have another tip for playing barmaid. when facing a photographer hunter never mix your drinks after you healed the extra damage because mixing your drinks will cause the extra damage to come back and i wouldn't recommend drink another drink to heal yourself
Another big mistake is rescuing without tide turner. DO NOT. You are just killing the chaired person faster, and it’s not like you can bodyblock perfecly every rescue, not counting that the hunter didn’t hit you or hit the chair. But, the hunter is gonna hit you, you save, hunter is already done with the recovery animation, the chaired person’s gonna get hit and die immediately and BOOM, you are increasing the chance of a loss. That’s why Tide matters if you like to rescue or is the rescuer. There are some scenarios that you can rescue without tide, for example, you have other 2 rescuers but they are decoding the last cipher or if you are the only one full healed somehow, then yes, you can go. But be careful. - Rescuer Main (badge for merc, coord, first officer and top 500 grave) for 10+ seasons now.
I had a coord, a doc and an ench, I was Barmaid. Coord and ench had 36 so me and the doc brought 39. End game, cipher primed, ench chaired, doc dead, I went for the rescue and I didn't bodyblock since I was injuried and the cipher was primed. The ench got really mad at me for not having tide nor bodyblocking :/ Tbh I see nothing wrong here :/ Like, if 2 of the teannate shave tide, I bring 39
@@deny2605 Yes, in those cases you are fine. The thing is: if someone with TIDE can rescue, then you don’t have to do it. So there was no reason for the Enchantress to have said that.
@@BBlackPhoenix in lower tier, there are so many survivor players that like to rescue immediately and ended up all of them being knocked down. The last time it happened to me, there were still 4 chipers to decode but only me left. :')
Even if you r in the exit gate you r at the risk of getting knocked down. Bq can use the mirror and hit you from behind, Photographer can quit the other world and hit u instantly, gamekeeper can catch u with the chain and a lot of other things !
ANOTHER MISTAKE IS NOT LEAVING THE MATCH!!! Some survivors don't leave even if they can get 3 survivor win. They just come back for rescue and die cuz of the detention they got killed and we tie the match or if the other guy goes for helping them both we lose the match.
Hey, ever considered making similar videos like these but for hunters? I saw a lot of beginners guide for survivors but not for hunters, would really appreciate if u can take this idea into consideration coz I have lot of friends who would really like to have beginner hunter guides!
One thing I’ll say from this video, Don’t emote at gate unless you’re waiting for another survivor to hurry up and get to you, Emoting there just to annoy the hunter is well annoying and time wasting (and I’ve seen people get downed doing it too) like as a survivor main leave the hunter mains alone their trying
Awesome guide. Additional tips: You could pop the last cipher when hunter gets palletstunned. You could stall by healing them in front of the hunter but only do this if you know last cipher is near primed As for looking behind, do this by getting used to moving straight while moving your camera. As hunter, just dont tunnel mercenary. Scare them away from their cipher while moving to the next cipher in search of the decoder
Correction, Barmaid is also able to get rid of the .25 damage, not a good idea but she can do it. Also, as of my most updated knowledge, being at .25 health is counted as "not injured" so things like Panic and Mech's decode reduction ability don't get activated at .25 so those things help decoding by getting rid of those negative effects.
There's a exception at "no-healing with photographer" that is when his camera word is up If you have 75% health both in real life and in the camera world it's ok to heal, since when the camera world ends you will go back to 50% health and then health yourself back to full health!!
One extra tip - organize your persona. I cannot stress this out, not only are the TOP talents important, but also the extra ones! Some characters are just supposed to have tide and some not. Definitely plan out at least a rescue and kite build. Currently, I carry builds for perfumer (aka my default kite/rescue build), mercenary build, seer build and a tarot build. Also a solo rank build. Try to organize your persona as it is important and DO NOT FORGET to use your different builds.
Dont go rescue in basements if you dont have tide although you are accidentally nearby! And after being rescued, please run as far as possible from those basement! QvQ
The only time I can think of that you might wanna heal people to 0.25% against the photographer is when you have a mechanic on your team. That 0.25% doesn’t count towards her trait, Cowardly, and therefore she still has her optimal decoding speed. Other than that I agree that healing people to 0.25% against the Photographer is pointless.
survivors really shouldn't confidently wait at the exit gate, especially right by the orange box thingy either. try to wait inside the exit gate or somethin. cuz' one time i teleported right there and downed an embalmer whos waiting for a friend ig, i felt bad after 😳
@@midnighthopee He is saying (if I understand correctly) that it isn't a good idea to try and use your stun abilities to be a bully and annoy the hunter (just because you can), use your abilities strategically, especially since you could be decoding instead.
As someone who started to main a stunner (prospector) I never try to bully, I only use my abilities to buy time while kiting or maybe help the others, but when I play hunter they're so annoying lol, enchantress is the one who bullies me the most along with doctors (I know she's not a stunner, but her mains can be a bully too)
@@noir4299 yeah that’s okay- it’s his abilities, it’s good ur trying to help. i think what the comment meant is that you shouldnt wait for the hunter at the exit gate for example just to use your long stun as enchantress
I just recently got into Idv because I absolutely adore the style of the game and I have slowly been turning into a Entomologist main- All these tips are actually so good to know and I'm sure they'll help me get better at the game
The chair rescue part is pretty pointless. The vast majority of hunters just camp the chair because they lack the skill to work the entire map. It’s just become the norm now at this point to stand at the chair until it’s gone which is so boring.
It's a strategy. "lack the skill to work the entier map" is an unfair statement. If you haven't secured 1 kill at the beginning of the match then might as well lose. The rate at which survivors decode is fast and it's a pain to chase 1 fully healed surv. You risk slipping the chance of having less 1 surv in the map just to chase another fully healed surv especially that not all hunters have mobility around the map.
@@TemFuzzy dont chase a survivor, just pretend youre going to. If they rescue early, double back. Try to hit rescuer once then chase the previously chaired one, they should be easy to catch and on second chair theyll immediatly be on half and will save time. Rescuer might heal but theres a chance they wont. If it reaches half check nearby and try to find someone to hit, tinnitus helps, even if theyre not going to rescue theyre still decoding. If someone rescues after half do all the previous stuff. Then two people might be injured if they havent healed and next chair is death chair. This works best with distance hunters but it works pretty well with most of them. Camping is easy to counter, pretty boring for both sides, and wastes time for more ciphers to be done. Unless your geisha, bloody queen, ripper, etc. your safest option is to not camp directly. Make sure your early games strong, patrollers would help if youre struggling. Sorry for the long comment, i just hope you find a more enjoyable and easier way to play^^
3:38 that is when hunter will know that u need to rescue and can predict the time u rescue and make a terror shock what u should do is wait for a bit and make sure when u rescue it’s not the last second before the middle point
This is really helpful , I lost my 2 years account, I tried to get it back bc I had very good stuff and I enjoyed playing w my friends but I couldn’t so I gave up and took a break for like 1 year or more and made a new acc, my current account and looking at this made me remember some important tips for IDV , also now it sucks bc everyone thinks I’m a noob and most of the ppl don’t wanna play with me even through I played this game a lot for more then 2 years before but anyways Ty for this vid !
Another big mistake for coord player's don't use the gun for kiting it may delay hunter for short period of time but this way you give hunter better opportunity to kill a survivor
this, I always see coords using their gun too early when no one has even been chaired yet, and once someone is actually chaired they don't even bother rescuing anymore bc they wasted their item
Sometimes it's a good idea to use the gun for kiting, but never use it on full health. If the hunter finds you and you use the gun before he hits you, he will most likely change targets knowing that you're not that dangerous without the gun anymore. If you wait until the hunter hits you first and then use the gun, the hunter still has to focus on you, otherwise he will get cipher rushed. In a situation like that you can use the gun to transition to a better kiting area
@@meergrad as i said it may delay Hunter to catch you but coordinator without her gun have nothing and ss long as you have the gun hunters are very cautious
If u play coordinator then u are a RESCUER, and as a rescuer u should not get hit without any reasons, stay at full health as long as possible, if not, u might bot even get the chance to use it later, so yes it is a good idea to just use the gun and not get hit, that way u can still have tide turner and rescue later at full health
Coordinator is NOT a good harasser, so if she is being chased and she needs to use it, it’s ok to use it. She is a weak kiter compared to other rescuers and kiters, without using the gun she is just a lucky guy so if SHE is being chased it’s fine to use the gun to transition and buy time, but not so early since the hunter can change target after you use the gun, and you are gonna be useless (try to pull off atleast a 60s without using it). If not, it’s most likely to use on recues from ROCKET CHAIRS, rescuing from balloons is just occasionally in SOME scenarios, not all the time because it’s gonna be a waste, big waste since the hunter can easily drop down the person, low tier hunters don’t know how to do it at all but with time, it’s not worth it since it’s easily countered. Unlike Forward, she only has 1 item to work with, so yeah. The best ways is using the gun for Rescue or Kite, occasionally from balloons. AND PLEASE, TIDE TURNER. I was a S badge coordinator for a long time.
for the looking back at hunter while kiting, I usually focus on the red glow and my heart beat if they're gone then that means the Hunter's already got new target
This best tips video I ever saw and I really like that your talking to camera and we can see you and it's easier to listen. Anyway thank you, this video really helpful!
I keep trying to tell people to focus on decoding and not to rescue unless they have a plan, no matter how many times I have warned them they just don’t listen
There’s some stuff you may have missed/messed up and I’d like to explain if that’s alright. First of all.. there’s something about mercenary and pops, it’s a bug that the devs are refusing to fix because it doesn’t make them money. When you pop the machine, if he’s not fully bleed the pop will do nothing and he’ll keep losing health. I mained him and learned the hard way. Also if someone has tide and has been triple hit wait until tide runs out they’ll go down otherwise because borrowed time only does .5 damage. Also please don’t emote at the gate at all. There’s no point. Most hunters have something so they can get you inside the gate too. It’s better to just emote with your teammates for a few seconds and leave. Leave immediately if the hunter is there. There could be more I’m forgetting.
8:00 um actually, barmaid and psychologist can technically heal .5 heal too, they just use up the ability like they would if they were healing 1 health
Im not criticizing you but dropping pallets early can give you a lot of time and you could even get a rotate out of that . Btw if your in a bad location it's better to drop the pallet to make the hunter break it letting you rotate to a better location but in good locations looping is better but you will have to drop it
One mistake I see a lot of beginner's make against axe boy is that they don't try to avoid getting hit by a soul snipe when rescuing. It bugs me knowing I won a match simply because people don't avoid the hit. Besides that, there's hardly any time between his soul snipe and his second hit. He can down a player pretty fast if they're trying to rescue like that
Honestly, I think chair camping Hunters need to receive a debuff to their movement speed or attack recovery speed which stacks up to three times the *longer* they stay near chairs with survivor tied to it. Call it whatever they want, Slackness, Laxness or whatever. I've played this game when it was just released years ago and I notice the trend of survivors being downed, camped at chairs, saved, downed and tied again. Three strikes and you're out. Two, if you're playing against a Hunter main who obviously have a lot of experience under their belt. Plus it's not too difficult to play as a Hunter with spamming capabilities like Sculptor and Violinist against lower ranks. It's like a "Just keep tapping me" button. That trend _still_ hasn't changed much, I mean, even the more difficult Bots camp the chairs. What's up with that ? I don't think it's healthy and it throws away the core part of the game which makes it fun: The adrenaline during a chase. Back then, the problem was with players playing on an emulator on PC with mobile users. This gave them extreme precision when it comes to getting a hit on Survivors, and the best kiting feel when playing against Hunters. It took them a long time before the issue was confronted, although that's not to say you can't play with a mouse and keyboard on your phone nowadays. But with how hunters are superior to Survivors in every aspect _except_ teamwork (But honestly, have you tried solo queue in lower Survivor ranks? It's a nightmare) I strongly believe the Hunters need small "balance" update that applies to atleast the lower ranks.
In terms of healing against Joseph (Photographer) when you don't have a doctor/barmaid in your team, wait for the photo world to come before you get healed. Once you get healed, you heal your photo self so that as soon as the world collapses, your damage will be halfed and you can be fully healed. Although if you're downed, I suggest you wait for the photo world to collapse before healing in case your photo self is chaired/hit.
Tip for newer hunter players, even if the survivor is emoting inside the gate, you are still able to get them with some tricks. First option, try to get closer to the loading zone than they are. And then hit them back to the stage, not to the loading zone, that counts as escape and you wont get them even if they got downed at the end. You can use certain characters as Dream Witch, Bloody Queen, Wu Chang and some other hunters to get behind them. If you have characters like Hell Ember, Smiley Face or Photographer that can't get behind the survivor with their skill, you can still get behind by using blink. Second option is to stun or drag them. For example, if you play Wu Chang, throwing the umbrella inside the gate and changing into Black Guard, he stuns everyone standing inside the gate. Then you have some seconds more time to hit them to the side or back to the gate opening. Even easier its to do as Sculptor with her statues or with Gamekeepers hook. Hope this can help some of you to deal with these situations. Hunter mains, stay stong and keep playing! And survivors, remember that hunters always finds their ways to get you so please be careful with your every move! Good luck in your matches everyone.
Thsi isnt really a mistake, but if your playing hunter, if you look closely at the cipher poles, ciphers that are being worked on will wiggle. The more they wiggle, the closer the ciper is to competition❤
If anyone didn't understand what he meant by only sometimes rescue early he are some things hunter: 1 hunter hits chair, 2 hunter hits you before you can make it to chair, and ECT.
10:29 This is true, cuz when i was hunter, a survivor emoted me at the exit gate, but my hunter was Gamekeeper, so i used my Hook ability and i knocked down the survivor, It was one of the most satisfying moments, because of that survivor the game was lost for his team, because only 1 escaped.
Thanks for this video! A common mistake people should also know is not to move around in soul weaver's cocoon. I've gotten killed many times because of that while trying to rescue
I would still heal at Photoboi's damage, can help alleviate Mech's decoding nerf, get Enchantress' blessing, or just to farm points (it helps in ranking up).
Your tips are very helpful to new players👍🏻 However, about the early pallet throws...It depends on the situation, not every pallet should be thrown late and not every hunter hits before going through the pallet. It also depends on the player. There's no guarenteed tips for pallet throws, because it all goes down to how both the survivor and hunter plays. And it also depends on the area and which hunter it is. For example, a small area with a pallet and the hunter is clown, in this situation, it is best not to throw the pallet down so you won't trap yourself and end up getting a terror shock.
Oh boi i wish I had all this tips when i started. But overall people remember that even with tips you still need practice, and even if you know how to counter every hunter that doesn't mean you are able to put it on practice (I'm the living example of it). It might get frustrating to know how to do them but not put them on practice but overtime if you keep doing it you'll be able to do it. Never give up and don't be hard on yourself if you get chaired too early
another thing is if the exit gates are open and there are 4 people left and one of them gets chaired don't save them just get out of there and you get the win
No matter which part of the exit youre at, outside or inside, just dont wait at all. I played as hunter and got 3 survivors down, and the last one waited for me at the gate while dancing as if he was a champion or something. I ended up killing him. He was an inch away from escaping. Imagine the rage and regret he felt.
I know a little trick , if you can't avoid being hit when the viper is primed , stand in the middle of a pallet , I got downed but immediately hit the pallet on the hunter giving me time to run
About the Don't try to distract while your teamade is on a balloon A lot of times when there was a chair around pallets I throw the pallet on the hunted while he is trying to take my teamade to the chair
When rescuing, try to bait the hunter into hitting you before you do it. Tap rescue back away quickly, if they don’t fall for it try again. You may get lucky and they hit the chair. You canNOT risk a terror shock. Ooh, also: when rescuing, DEFINITELY bodyblock. Stand in front of the survivor so they hit you, even if that means sometimes you’ll get downed. I recommend doing this when you’re full health, but if you are injured and the survivor is dead on chair, you need to risk you getting chaired instead of them.
emoting inside the gate is dangerous too, many hunters have abilities that help them down survivors without walking in- and even if they don’t can still be countered by good hunters
perfumer main here! i just wanted to drop this incase someone needed to know, when going against photographer and your mirror image ISNT chaired you can spray perfume and after the world collapse go back, itll undo the damage!!
i will never forget that one rank match i played. we were playing against gamekeeper and two players already got chaired. We could have gotten a tie if not for that certain doctor who emoted just few centimeters away from escaping but got pulled by gamekeeper and knocked down instantly. I immediately exited the chat as i was close to being toxic myself.
The first/last one is probably the most important one, most people don't leave exit gates even though the one getting chased tells that he found dungeon, there are some players than even gate emote Game Keeper, so if you're not a Grave Keeper with shovel or a full health Mercenary or other Survs that can take hits, don't do that, and don't do it if the last surv tells that he found Dungeon.
Another helpful advice. Do not instantly jump after a cypher to decode at the start of the game, and instead hide for a moment. I am a hunter main in Identity V, and basically on every map i have by now mapped for myself cyphers where on the start of the game ALWAYS is a survivor. For instance, wedding church. That cypher in the ruins near the chair area? There is always someone decoding at the start. The burned factory? Someone is always at the center cypher. For good sake, dont touch certain cyphers at the start of the game, and instead hide. I almost always find someone at certain cypher in first few seconds of the game. If you do not touch the cypher and instead hide for a bit, i will not hear any noise, I wont see any marks made by running survivor, and move on.
If you’re going to emote at the exit gate make sure you carry at least one sticker. If the hunter is able to knock you down but you aren’t close enough you’re going to have to crawl and if you do it without sticker it’s going to be a huge risk where the hunter may be able to pick you up! This is a suggestion that helps me but may not help everyone!
if the hunter is too close PLEASEEE DO NOT VAULT! i see this happen so much and i still do it sometimes but pleaseeee if the hunter is too close do not vault
10:38 I only stay inside the gate to wait for my teammates, if they want dungeon I leave But, if the hunter is gamekeeper, *never* stay at the gate :^) that's it
another tip for beginners,if someone say "thank you!" when they get chaired, don't rescue them(/j) btw really nice video!! all the tips were really accurate!
If survivor die so fast and hunter is camping, just rescue when the chair is almost full (finish your cipher first before rescue) so you can have at least a tie
@@ilhaniman5753 but if that survivor is a good kiter and maybe they got terror shocked cause they didn't expect it or they were lagging we can rescue them before half so they can waste hunter's time and the others can try to cipher rush, but it's always better to not risk and focus on decoding and rescue after half as u said :))
I subscribed today and I must say you are the most helpful identity v youtuber for newbies like me. I also suck at this game but I enjoy the experience, and it's thrilling to learn these tips. Thank you!
When you start playing you should research the playstyles of different characters to see which ones suit your style more, and experiment with the daily trial characters. You don't want to waste a few days worth of clues on a character that you hate playing. This is also useful for deciding which role you're good at playing to get more points in a rank. Make sure to improve prior to rank matches, stick with what you're good at for rank, practice in quick match.
though i've seen people downed/downed people waiting IN the gate too so just. don't. unless you could still be useful (ex mercenary detention body block) you should just leave.
One mistake I think every player makes is making "quick-chats"/ "quick-comments" (Forgot what it's called) when they're decoding, heading and being healed. They're basically revealing their positions when they do that. Especially the ones that are being healed. They're revealing their location as well as the one who's healing them.
@@screaming-kiwi7622 don't they see the direction of where the player and their chat is coming from? Because when I was playing Hunter I remember seeing a message icon pop onto my radar of where they were coming from.
@@reaper7769 you probably figured it out already but no, hunter's can't see you when you use quick chat messages in game. At all. They are meant to be used to communicate, batter organize plan, know where teammates are, etc. Use them wholly.
Man! I played with this enchantress that was emoting BQ inside the exit gate. Mary went in and miss Patricia had to stunned her three times and stood there thinking that BQ was gonna hit her and push her out through the exit gate. But, she actually ended up knocking her down and chairing her 🤦🏻♂️

how about not emoting at all in the exit gate, especially if you see the hunter coming.
Got a win :)
Edit: I also have stories of me emoting even at the closed gate (waiting for someone else to open it) and throwing a match or emoting at chaired survs (I emoted only if they graffitied at me or idk they flirted with me pre match) and not noticing a rescue coming
Multiple times my teammates emoting made us lose or tie. i only emote while kiting cause i think its funny asf, but i always make it clear that i mean it in a non toxic way
Ah, I remember that one time Coord emoted on the gate with the hunter having Excitement as her trait, guess who got a tie?
Wait so Tracy's bot was named George and I never knew? Also Barmaid can get rid of 0.25 damage too.
Originally, the B4U team gave the doll the nickname George I think, and that then turned into a running gag and now almost the entire idv community calls him George
yes, barma1d can get r1d of the damage but 1t 1snt worth 1t. you only get 2 dovl1n bottles per match + a speed bottle.
@@dashmarer omg, why do u talk like that
@@fiaalmahira it’s a typing quirk, some people use it to cope c: some quirks are small,, like me using commas instead of periods!
Yes yes, you normally get healed then use your dovlin to heal the 0.25 damage
Dont decode together at the beginning, If someone down too early better save before they die and priority cyphers more. See the message on the mini map to know the cyphers teammate are decoding, also it can help you know how many cyphers are done and decide when to decode or go to save. Also it can help you dont die near undone cyphers. Knowing the spawn the spot, the most underrated one, this can help you kite without disturb teammate and know where the hunter is at the beginning. Learn and understand each hunter mechanic to kite them. Timing hunter teleport at end game
Unless you're facing photographer yea
cowboy gets decoding bonus when decoding with female character
It always annoyed me a lot when I first get knocked down, especially when the hunter was a photographer! I've been using advice like this since I got back into the game last year and it's a very useful tip by the way. I also recommend to look around at the start of the game near your cipher machine to be sure that hunter didn't go to your side

"Characters that can harass, like wildling, forward and cowboy..."
Enchantress, Batter and Cord: What are we chopped liver??!
Coord isn't harass
Can't list all of them 🤣 knowing Netease there are tons more to come.
Prospector can harass too you know-
Prospector, enchantress and batter can harass but they are kiters for a reason.
Great Video! Really liked it!

Thanks Grizz, means a lot to hear that from you!

Controlling the camera is hard for me. If I'm looking back, I can't see the path in front of me and sometimes ended up stucked against the wall or rock that makes the distance between me and the hunter getting closer. 🗿
use seer,i learn to look back while kiting when i use seer before since i need to charge owl..🤣 its hard but when u get used to it will feel more better and better for next kiting experience
actually if you're playing painter and the hunter is near you'll just need to look back to get the hunters appearance
cuz if you won't you will probably die soon when you're bad at kiting
so im guessing if you play as painter you can learn on how to look back while kiting
You dont have to keep looking back. The goal is to look forward to see where you are going and o
On frequent occasions look back where the hunter is. If that's difficult try looping around a low wall with 1 or 2 pallets, you can look at the huntrr while going around the loop
It's easier when you are already used to the map you're playing in,so you can walk without even looking in front of you
I usually dont look back because seeing the hunter in my ass makes me panic 😭
Me as a photographer main hope that survivors won't learn some of these tips, but props to you!
Especially bc of the stuff about mech, because most people instant save me as mech and I can't decode. :')

I always did the emote at the gate as a “thank you it was fun playing” or something, I never knew it was considered toxic. Thanks 👍
The emote would be something like the blowing kiss, never laughter or anything rude. I never wanted to offend anyone
its not really toxic, its just kinda a bad strategy yk? you can get pushed into the exit by getting downed, therefor the win is secure, but if you do it outside and get downed, you’ll likely lose bc you wont have room to crawl to the gate/ there aren’t many hunters that will give you that win. Not rude, just unsmart, yk?
My friend recommended this game. When I was a beginner I was a bit scared because I didn’t know what to do. I remember my friend told me to always be near pallet areas to kite, but I always close the pallet on the wrong side and that's how I die. 😂
I don't even know how I used to play when I was new, but I can say I'm still bad at kiting XD
@@noir4299 sometimes we have good and bad kiting in some match..🤷♀️
i also have another tip for playing barmaid. when facing a photographer hunter never mix your drinks after you healed the extra damage because mixing your drinks will cause the extra damage to come back and i wouldn't recommend drink another drink to heal yourself
thank you for talking about photographer's different hit damage!
as a photo main, i get called a hacker a lot because they don't know about his damage
3:26 THIS!
Great video Phoenix, these are very important tips!
Thanks Madam Bia xD
Not a newbie but I still waiting for a hunter guide, or how to counter some characters and etc
@@noir4299 yea we have seen so many beginner guides for survivors but none for hunters sadly
@@kiddoinwall8264 yep :(
One thing I’ll say from this video, Don’t emote at gate unless you’re waiting for another survivor to hurry up and get to you, Emoting there just to annoy the hunter is well annoying and time wasting (and I’ve seen people get downed doing it too) like as a survivor main leave the hunter mains alone their trying
Awesome guide. Additional tips:
You could pop the last cipher when hunter gets palletstunned.
You could stall by healing them in front of the hunter but only do this if you know last cipher is near primed
As for looking behind, do this by getting used to moving straight while moving your camera.
There's a exception at "no-healing with photographer" that is when his camera word is up
If you have 75% health both in real life and in the camera world it's ok to heal, since when the camera world ends you will go back to 50% health and then health yourself back to full health!!
Try to organize your persona as it is important and DO NOT FORGET to use your different builds.
yeah i had a merc who used their tarot persona :’)
Are we not going to talk about people who don't wanna get out even tho you already spam "the dungeon is here"?
Dont go rescue in basements if you dont have tide although you are accidentally nearby! And after being rescued, please run as far as possible from those basement! QvQ

same here, except i was playing the hunter and it was my first time, that traumatized me lol
NO FR I'VE HAD LIKE 2 NEWBIES IN DIFFERENT RANDOM MATCHES BEFORE AND I WAS LIKE WYD? 💀
The only time I can think of that you might wanna heal people to 0.25% against the photographer is when you have a mechanic on your team. That 0.25% doesn’t count towards her trait, Cowardly, and therefore she still has her optimal decoding speed. Other than that I agree that healing people to 0.25% against the Photographer is pointless.
survivors really shouldn't confidently wait at the exit gate, especially right by the orange box thingy either. try to wait inside the exit gate or somethin. cuz' one time i teleported right there and downed an embalmer whos waiting for a friend ig, i felt bad after 😳
I was about to sleep until I saw the notification-
Ha! Hopefully you sleep well after watching.
When you play stun character,You shouldn’t bully hunter with enormous stun.
But what "bully hunters " mean? So hunter can hit surv, but surv cant shot him? Or i didint understand something
@@midnighthopee He is saying (if I understand correctly) that it isn't a good idea to try and use your stun abilities to be a bully and annoy the hunter (just because you can), use your abilities strategically, especially since you could be decoding instead.
@@BBlackPhoenix oh, that makes sense
As someone who started to main a stunner (prospector) I never try to bully, I only use my abilities to buy time while kiting or maybe help the others, but when I play hunter they're so annoying lol, enchantress is the one who bullies me the most along with doctors (I know she's not a stunner, but her mains can be a bully too)

I just recently got into Idv because I absolutely adore the style of the game and I have slowly been turning into a Entomologist main-
All these tips are actually so good to know and I'm sure they'll help me get better at the game
Its so weird how you barley have any views and likes, this video look pretty nice and professional, but I wouldn’t really know
for the looking back at hunter while kiting, I usually focus on the red glow and my heart beat
if they're gone then that means the Hunter's already got new target
This best tips video I ever saw and I really like that your talking to camera and we can see you and it's easier to listen. Anyway thank you, this video really helpful!
Thank you! I am super happy you like my format of videos!
I keep trying to tell people to focus on decoding and not to rescue unless they have a plan, no matter how many times I have warned them they just don’t listen
another great video phoenix!! thank u for the tips! congratulations on 1k btw ^^
Thaaanks
If photographer takes a photo while you're 0,75 hitted, if you heal, when the photo is over you'll get 0,25 and it'll make you 0,5 hitted
4:47 only heal ifthe hunter has the trait where injured survivors do stuff slow. The quarter doesn’t count against this trait
Thsi isnt really a mistake, but if your playing hunter, if you look closely at the cipher poles, ciphers that are being worked on will wiggle. The more they wiggle, the closer the ciper is to competition❤
What do you mean by the closer the cipher is to competition?
ahh i think the writer meant "completion" instead
I swear, i really do try to look back when kiting but i panic since i get stuck in the walls a lot-.
If anyone didn't understand what he meant by only sometimes rescue early he are some things hunter: 1 hunter hits chair, 2 hunter hits you before you can make it to chair, and ECT.
Woah thank u! I’m gonna use these! I didn’t know a lot of these
I am glad they helped, good luck in your future matches!
You know you aint a beginner when you stop doing this already 🙌🏼
*Also me checking if im still acting like a beginner xD*
Thanks for this video!
A common mistake people should also know is not to move around in soul weaver's cocoon. I've gotten killed many times because of that while trying to rescue
Thank you so much!! I am a new player and I was wondering why ppl wait to pop the last cipher lmao.
Never give up and don't be hard on yourself if you get chaired too early
barmaid can heal the 0,5 with her dovlin(not all the characters)
another thing is if the exit gates are open and there are 4 people left and one of them gets chaired don't save them just get out of there and you get the win

Thank you this really helped!! I kinda got into idv a month ago and got kinda good with it
About the
Don't try to distract while your teamade is on a balloon
A lot of times when there was a chair around pallets I throw the pallet on the hunted while he is trying to take my teamade to the chair
Not a bad idea! There are exceptions to some of these tips I give. It is very situational.
Waiting at the gate is just the most stupid. Many people think the teleport is slow but it isnt
"Hunters are afraid of pallets"
Luchino: Oh no! Anyway-
i will never forget that one rank match i played. we were playing against gamekeeper and two players already got chaired. We could have gotten a tie if not for that certain doctor who emoted just few centimeters away from escaping but got pulled by gamekeeper and knocked down instantly. I immediately exited the chat as i was close to being toxic myself.
The first/last one is probably the most important one, most people don't leave exit gates even though the one getting chased tells that he found dungeon, there are some players than even gate emote Game Keeper, so if you're not a Grave Keeper with shovel or a full health Mercenary or other Survs that can take hits, don't do that, and don't do it if the last surv tells that he found Dungeon.
your percy game-play makes me incredibly scared of percy and i refuse to play w Percy
Ngl I rlly love the way u explain everything ❤️ you’re even better then Grizzly !!!!!!
Thank u for dedicating your time for us ❤️
My tips : Stun doesn't stack! Wait until the stun done if u want to stun the hunter again
Thanks for the tips. Im trying to learn jow to look behind me when kiting, but on mobile i risk of running towards the hunter instead
*Coordinator can stun the hunter if they have a ballooned survivor! Which let's them loose but I usually don't use it*
if the hunter is too close PLEASEEE DO NOT VAULT! i see this happen so much and i still do it sometimes but pleaseeee if the hunter is too close do not vault
10:38 I only stay inside the gate to wait for my teammates, if they want dungeon I leave
But, if the hunter is gamekeeper, *never* stay at the gate :^) that's it
another tip for beginners,if someone say "thank you!" when they get chaired, don't rescue them(/j)
btw really nice video!! all the tips were really accurate!
Why
@@claaairetyyy5883 I WAS KIDDINGSHHDJW indeed I put the "/j"
If survivor die so fast and hunter is camping, just rescue when the chair is almost full (finish your cipher first before rescue) so you can have at least a tie
@@ilhaniman5753 yes!!
How do people bring themselves up when they are downed?
Maybe you shouldn’t loop a photographer since they can use jumpcard is that right?
Thanks for the tips Phoenix you really changed my survivor game play
One mistake I think every player makes is making "quick-chats"/ "quick-comments" (Forgot what it's called) when they're decoding, heading and being healed. They're basically revealing their positions when they do that. Especially the ones that are being healed. They're revealing their location as well as the one who's healing them.
But,,, the hunter can’t see the chats,,,,
@@screaming-kiwi7622 don't they see the direction of where the player and their chat is coming from? Because when I was playing Hunter I remember seeing a message icon pop onto my radar of where they were coming from.
@@reaper7769 you probably figured it out already but no, hunter's can't see you when you use quick chat messages in game. At all. They are meant to be used to communicate, batter organize plan, know where teammates are, etc. Use them wholly.
never emote at the gate, it's very toxic
Man! I played with this enchantress that was emoting BQ inside the exit gate. Mary went in and miss Patricia had to stunned her three times and stood there thinking that BQ was gonna hit her and push her out through the exit gate. But, she actually ended up knocking her down and chairing her 🤦🏻♂️
10:26 time to send the link of this video to the randoms in post match xD
Ha! Watch them go toxic real quick 🤣
A lot of the things I do in IDV is what I did in DBD. Loop, sneak, don't teabag at the exit.
Cause this game look exacly like DBD ;]
