He posted the video announcing fins birth a couple days after my son was born, and ever time i see fin in a video i look at my son and think about how fast time flies by, and that its already been almost 3 1/2 years😂😂
You should let your son design a lure and you make it! Let him draw one or let him tell you everything to do step by step. No matter what it looks like, it would be so fun to watch.
You never have to apologies for Finn helping you out there! You should have him help you make a bait, let him draw out the shape, and then pick where the lead holes and hardware goes, then help paint it! I think it would be a fun special episode.
Your kid is a champ! A while back, maybe a year, you showed some drawings that you said he did. They were, frankly, amazing. They looked good for something a 5-to-10 year old would produce, and he was barely a toddler! Kid has phenomenal spacial recognition.
Oh Fin is growing like mad! Started watching your videos befor he was born, befor you started to talk in your videos. Great stuff my friend, that lure looks great. Have a great yule my friend
As I've said many times before, just outstanding! One day I'll win the lottery and be able to get one of your pieces of art to put with my small collection of antique ridd n reels! Have a Merry Christmas n god bless.
"there's someone making lures along with me", you are the Bob Ross of bait making... minus the golf whisper. Oh, and the bead rolled under the old school desk.
I noticed that on my baits I cant get a smooth finish when using baking soda and super glue. I was using the brand you use for a while, but I just changed to star bond since I ran out, and it sands surprisingly well without leaving gaps between the lead hole and the body of the bait.
Lateral figure in maple = fiddleback. Really cool bait dude. I enjoy watching your 'un-afraideness' to try different stuff and fail, tweak as needed, and try-try again. Like you said, that's how we learn. Cheers
Just in idea. Look at guitars with flame maple tops and a burst finish. That would look killer on a maple bait and still show off the grain. Also can be done in multiple colors.
Would love to see a Flounder lure. Hard bait with mechanical lip. Lips main position is down but if I raise the rod tip the lip could move up and swim up and down in a vertical motion. Like walking the dog but up and down. Or as a soft pour for a jig with a paddle tail turned so it swims up and down or you can pull it flat across the bottom.
Watching your videos is so satisfying. I tried carving baits myself, but I have RA and my hands just don’t work like that. So I just airbrush blanks. I can sort of live vicariously through your videos though! I love it! Beautiful job as always.
23:13 You have developed an incredible eye/talent for bait making. I am wondering how well the spinner will hold up to a pike take it for a ride though.
Is cool to see how much Finny has grown, really makes you see how much time has passed didn't think that I have been watching you that long but I found the channel before he was born, great to have been watching this long and it not feeling like it has been wasted time, love your content
Really think I like the new format it gives you something to look forward to even though I want yo see those baits finished really bad like right now lol I'm excited for the next video for sure great job
Best lure making channel on You Tube!!!! Always great and always entertaining and the one channel that will make you laugh or smile while enjoying the quality of the build...Truely a class act!!!! This channel got me into wood carving....not lures but just simple whittling .....I found it relaxing and very enjoyable .It all began by watching this channel....I fish for catfish so lure making isn't much help but I'd love to see some great skipjack lures since that's great bait for big catfish .....Thanks for great videos !!!!! As Always!!
If you dent wood....Apply some steam to the dent...The dent disappears. Do you have a patreon account? If not? Why not? Your a wealth of talent and knowledge. You have value! You could use the suport from patreon to get a one day van or maybe a boat. Or a....POND! Something to consider. Keep up the great content. Your next merch should say "action city-population?" population should be the number of subscribers you have.
If you did something like this again you could use a Lake Trout as your model. You could pitch those pelvic fins down. Just a lake trout in general would be super cool.
It's been a long while since I seen a Marling video. When I do see Nate's videos, all I can think about for the next few days is how I should go out and buy a bunch of bench top power tools. "One day" I will go buy them and start making my own lures.
With the figuring of that maple, I could totally see you doing more baits (maybe a series?) utilizing natural wood patterns. Quilting, birds eye, burl, anything
When i look at your son, i am able to measure the time since i've been watching at your videos. The time is going so fast ! Thanks for all the stuff you make ! Friendship from France ;)
You should use a steel or titanium leader to test baits this size. They won't get tangled in the cast, and the loop connection will give your bait more kick then that nightmare of a knot you tie😉🧐🤔..lol Love the channel Nate🤜🤛
Awesome work, as always. Maybe you could try a sea robin, with their leg stilts and flappy pectoral fins? Seems like the erratic bottom bouncing you could get from some stiff mono stilts would really be action city. Would probably be the perfect thing to drag across sand and gravel creek beds for smallies. Hope it's an idea that tickles your mad scientist artistic fancy!
I miss watching you carve the gills, but your airbrush techniques do make it look really good. I've learned from it. They still have that depth and layering that your carving had. Btw I sent you a link on your other platform. This guy makes a musky bait. I think you'll find it interesting.
Odd looken cave crickets for sure Also having been watching for years, its been wild watching fin grow man, makes me realize just how much time is passing
Nate, thanks for trying new and strange things with your lures. There is an old lure called a Sand Eel that was imported to the U.S. from France. It is jointed in two places, sinks like a rock, and has a forward slanted, trapezoid bill on the top of the head. I have no idea what that bill is supposed to do, but it shows that others were trying some wacky stuff in the past.
Been a long time follower. I am really enjoying the new format. Seeing the process of multiple baits throughout one video gives a really cool perspective on the thought process going into each one. I thoroughly enjoy your content, top notch work and one day I hope to own one of your lures.
It's crazy I have been watching before fin was born and seeing him walking talking out in the baitshop that's pretty cool
Yeah me too it’s crazy it feels like fin grew up so fast
I thought the same thing in the last video. It's so sweet! 😊
Same, dude. It's wack
It's pretty wild to think of

YES
Couldn't help but wave at my monitor when Finny waved. Beautiful family, beautiful channel. Incredible how far you've come.
You never have to apologies for Finn helping you out there! You should have him help you make a bait, let him draw out the shape, and then pick where the lead holes and hardware goes, then help paint it! I think it would be a fun special episode.
My wife and I love watching your videos before bed they help us relax and are almost therapeutic. Lol
Marling!!! I HEARD THE PINK FLOYD AT THE START THATS SO COOL THAT YOU LISTEN TO THE FLOYD!!
It’s great day when you upload. Loved seeing Nate!
Loved seeing fin
Your kid is a champ!
A while back, maybe a year, you showed some drawings that you said he did. They were, frankly, amazing. They looked good for something a 5-to-10 year old would produce, and he was barely a toddler! Kid has phenomenal spacial recognition.
Finn is absolutely awesome! Riding his trike, wearinng his park ranger hat..What a kd.
You talking about not cutting yourself, made me reflect on myself, and I’ve made 5 lures, and cut myself on two of them.
Well I really like the new format keeps sitting interesting and keeps you moving on different baits.
You are actually living the dream, family right there and making a living being 100% free with your own creativity, zero anxiety from mistakes!!
Trying to work while watching a kid is not for the faint of heart. Good work.
These are the memories your kid will remember hahah, chillin in the shop with dad.
Woohoo it's on
You should make a fishing lure based on a fish from a video game like subnautica or something out of this world
Great idea
The peeper would be a cool lure.
A peeper crankbait
this makes me think of the sonic lure from Sega Bass Fishing
"YOU one second" Hilarious! 🤣
Hermano. “El plomo esta muy caliente.” Best channel ever. I’ve been watching for years now and love every episode. Keep up the great work.
Man, You are straight up, killing it now!! Rock on!!
👍👍
Whoa, Fin's got his mom's smile. Good kid.
Your little guy is such a great talker 😀
the painting as always amazing
I'm liking the new way these videos are. Get to see more in the same amount of time.
Oh Fin is growing like mad! Started watching your videos befor he was born, befor you started to talk in your videos. Great stuff my friend, that lure looks great. Have a great yule my friend
Every time you said fin like with pointing at the blank I was just waiting for a smiling picture of Fin to be put on the circle lol
As I've said many times before, just outstanding! One day I'll win the lottery and be able to get one of your pieces of art to put with my small collection of antique ridd n reels! Have a Merry Christmas n god bless.
Like the new format! Definitely hooked me on tuning in next time to see the final results of the baits!
That deep purple Chubb looked great in the water! Perfect wobbling action. If it was a little smaller it would be great for Australian Bass over here!
Thanks again for another Sunday video Nate!!! Look forward to it all week!!
New format is awesome!!! That Tiger maple is SICK!!
One of my favorite videos! I am loving the Maple bait👍
Really enjoying the new format!
"there's someone making lures along with me", you are the Bob Ross of bait making... minus the golf whisper.
Oh, and the bead rolled under the old school desk.
More Finn cameos 😂 What an adorable little dude
Fin repeating everything you say with high pitch enthusiasm adds greatly to video quality. 😆
I noticed that on my baits I cant get a smooth finish when using baking soda and super glue. I was using the brand you use for a while, but I just changed to star bond since I ran out, and it sands surprisingly well without leaving gaps between the lead hole and the body of the bait.
Very informative and good for everyone to learn together, nice comment...
After further review. Uv resin and micro spheres. THE ONLY ANSWER
Lateral figure in maple = fiddleback. Really cool bait dude. I enjoy watching your 'un-afraideness' to try different stuff and fail, tweak as needed, and try-try again. Like you said, that's how we learn. Cheers
I love watching these videos
Your baits are amazing. And Finn is a star. Kids are just the best.
Love to see a new luer
Just in idea. Look at guitars with flame maple tops and a burst finish. That would look killer on a maple bait and still show off the grain. Also can be done in multiple colors.
Paul Reed Smith guitars are famous for their figured maple tops.
absolutely loving these style of videos, great work!
Yet another epic work of craftsmanship.
Great video ++

5:19 this guy makes me laugh. I love your videos so much- they bring joy and distract me when i supposed to be doing school.

I’m really enjoying the new format, seeing a few different baits all on the go at once 👍🏻
Love the new format!
Lures are looking kickass!
Sweet lil helper you have there!

To be honest Fin was a real treat to hear. Untill next time I see you on the River. Great Baits as always

Amazing content as usual: informative and entertaining. Thanks man.
Love the new format. For winter anyways. Still can't beat one days
You know your a loyal subscriber when you hit the like button before you watch the video
I agree with that , and most other TH-cam channels you would have to watch the full video before giving a like or something else..
A good day when you upload

"Get ready for some top water action" that killed me 🤣

I Loved everything, like allways♥️...but we Need to rescape the aquarium🤭🤣♥️
These videos are so good!!
Really enjoyed this new style video as I like how you free associate ideas.
This video has me laughing way more than I should be 😂thank you
I really enjoyed the 27 minutes & 54 seconds of adverts inbetween the minute of bait making 👍
Clown trigger fish coming soon!
When you get entertained and educated, cant beat it
I miss watching you carve the gills, but your airbrush techniques do make it look really good. I've learned from it. They still have that depth and layering that your carving had.

I like this format a lot. We get to see more of the real life of a master bait maker. Watch out how you say that one now. 😏
Never Stop
