Hey nice video! Also i want to say that the ps3 firmware 4.91 just released yesterday. Evilnat is already working on cfw 4.91 and its done in 2 days maybe you could make an updated version of jailbreaking your ps3 soon?
The classic version of the 2TB hard drive that you recommend doesn't appear to be available anymore. Does the contemporary version of this hard drive work the same? Or is there another hard drive that you could recommend that doesn't need external power?
I've found most hard drives work as long as you get a Y cable (connects to both USB ports on the Wii). That extra port seems to be enough to power a 2.5" drive. They're easy to find.
Thanks for the heads-up! There's a lot of unpack on this page, but it has a running list of drives that are Wii compatible. wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List
Hi, what about a SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO SDHC? Does it need to be 32gb or is 64gb ok? Can I do this only or do I need to do the jail brake and usb loader stuff first? Also, I don't own a PC, I only have Apple so what windows versions is best so that I can pick a computer to match. Thank you in advance.
I prefer Wii U. It does everything the Wii does, plus Wii U games, plus Retroarch on Wii U side with way more power at disposal, and you can even run PSX at perfect speed
Nintendo Wii jailbreak I tried one of your I got to the end where you went to the website and the page you displayed was different from mine any suggestions???
Hey Blaine - thoughts on what cores the wii will run that are LATER than what could already be played? I.e can anything after wii be run via retroarch? Will it run dreamcast via retroarch, even though it couldn't run a standalone emulator for it? A list would be awesome! Thank you!
Great question. I think it'll cap out at Wii games. It's hard to believe, but the Wii is around 18 years old now. Does a lot of emulated system well, but like any system, it'll meet its match along the line somewhere. But 74 emulated system, along with multiple cores for some? That's like alomst 100 cores. Amazing!
@blainelocklair thanks for the reply! The builds I make have ps1 (people are always surprise), Sega cd (almost equally surprised). The wii is my favorite little emulation system. Really a power house for the age it is and the type of hardware it has. So great.
Or get an Xbox series s like I did for emulation purposes..I have tons of systems that run perfectly and Sega Saturn is one of them I got like 92 Saturn games in it
Well, there are two options. Larger SD cards are always better, maybe at least 256GB or so. You can also store just the app folder on the SD card and use USB storage for the ROMs and BIOS files. Be CERTAIN to get a USB drive that is Wii compatible, though, as some modern drives are not. That's why I demoed this only using the SD side of the house - compatibility across a wider berth.
Not natively in RetroArch. I think there are dedicated N64 emulatiors though. It just kinda fell outside the "one download" scope of RetroArch for this one video. Would make a great future video, though,.

I've used your guides so many times throughout the years. Very easy to follow. Thank you.
That's awesome of you to say! So glad the guides have been helpful. :)
your vids get better everytime, and you are looking fly in this one
Thank you so much for your kind words! :)

Thank you for the heads-up! Seems Sony's at it again. No worries; the fine folks at the Xploit should have this sorted out in no time at all. :)
@@blainelocklair is there a way to put N 64 games on the wii
With Nintendo going after Yuzu, do you think we are witnessing the end of game preservation?
Thanks for the demo and info, have a great day
Dude I love this guy.
Anyone know if you can use the Wii Mote as lightgun in the Arcade and Playstation emulator... specifically for Point Blank and Time Crisis games?
Not sure. I'll check it out next time I fire up the Wii though.
Yes you can, with wiistation
@@DD-peterB Thanks for your reply 👍
Idk where to get the system bios
Great Video Again!! Just Curious if you'd do a video of running retroarch on the switch too?
Where do I get the system bios ?

Get a 2.5 inch SSD and an external enclosure

Where can I find the games and bios folder in the Aio pack?

Whaoo Michael J Fox doing retrogaming stuff
I dont understand about the game folder and bios folder were do you get all the games for the game folder and the bios
Please take not for updating this video or sharing this file for retroarch somehow. The Wii download page has been since taken down for some reason.
Never mind, I had a look at your site. You have the file there.
I prefer Wii U. It does everything the Wii does, plus Wii U games, plus Retroarch on Wii U side with way more power at disposal, and you can even run PSX at perfect speed
Wii U really is an emulation gem. It even plays Wii U games too. :)
Wii u can't 240p 🎉
Nintendo Wii jailbreak I tried one of your I got to the end where you went to the website and the page you displayed was different from mine any suggestions???
@blainelocklair I just finished downloading my first GC disc and went to play and now my Wii shut off and won’t turn back on. Any suggestions?
where can i get the game files for the wii, what website is it?

do you have a guide to getting gamecube games on a wii that doesn't support gamecube controllers?
Not yet, but I'll definitely check it out.
Blaine what do you think about the yuzu lawsuit?

I'm guessing that this also works with vWii on Wii U?
You’d just use it for Wii U
I guess night, but I'd grab the Wii U download instead. The Wii U is more powerful and you'll get much more emulation value that way.
Sad we can't run SEGA SATRUN games on Wii and Wii U
😢
The only game I played that seemed full speed was Brain Dead 13
You can play Sega Saturn with RetroArch on pc and it's plays perfectly, but you will need strong cpu like intel i5 12400
Thank you for the advise, but I prefer playing them on the Console@@greekpowerellas

CD Romance for games.

2 of your Amazon Links are not working. "Play Your Wii Through HDMI On Your Flat-Panel TV!" "Wii Classic Controller Pro"
Thank you for letting me know! I'll get them updated today. Much appreciated!
That’s cool and all but you didn’t tell us where we can get games from.
CD Romance (that's the site) 😊

Hardly an Emulation Beast if you have to run Ps1 games on the WiiMote the worst controller of ALL TIME
Gamecube controller, classic controller left the chat
I guess you don't use gamecube controlers or use any of the PS controller wads that are available? Why would you run PS games on a Wii anyway?
