This has always been one of the first movies that has come to mind when I think “average comic book movie.” Good thing they got the casting of Thor & Loki right tho.
he was always the most badass member of the team. The first time we ever see him get damaged is in the opening of infinity war as far as Avengers films go. He effortlessly destroyed everything in 1&2 and fought hulk hand to hand in 1. We only see him try against Hela and Thanos.
B Davis well right, he had no arc or development. Just a Shakespeare-sounding god with a hammer. Now he shoots lightning from his hands and has experienced growth and loss
+Anon Commenter That's what makes his character so great though. Not all characters are perfect, and some make mistakes. Ultimately, Tony took the side of what he believed to be right in CW. And yah, ultimately he was pissed at Bucky for killing his parents - that seems like a very understandable stance.
Okay, I'm sure the point of leaving the Hammer with Thor is because he did want his son to become worthy, the entire banishment was a lesson and reclaiming the hammer was the reward at the end.
after the thor movie he never uses his frost giant powers again its never even mentioned again that hes a frost giant everyone just forgets about that even loki
I only now noticed that Screenwriter guy is wearing the same Space Cat T-shirt as that other Ryan George guy in his "First guy to ever dream video"... What a crazy coincidence

I might be reading this into the plot, but I'm pretty sure Odin wanted to install loki as king of jodenheim since he's a loyal servant of asgard and a legitimate heir of jodenheim. But they never stated that. I think it makes loki taking the crown more tragic because he could have had a kingdom, but he took things into his own hands.
I do have 2 counters to criticisms here. 1. The whole point of Thor's banishment was an attempt to teach him humility, and make him worthy of his hammer and powers, so he needed to sent the hammer after him so he could prove himself worthy and reclaim it, he didn't want to replace Thor, he wanted to make him a better person. 2. It's quite apparent that Loki basically spent most the movie in a mental breakdown, he learnt he wasn't only adopted, he was a member of a species he'd been raised to despise, among other issues, so it makes sense that his plan didn't make sense.
@@ohio I hate the "it's just a joke" reaction. Because jokes need to be based on some true premise in order to land properly. And the series is obviously meant to poke at plot holes and inconsistencies. So if something is not legitimately a plot hole, then it's fair to critique that critique.
Thor clearly could have been the best Marvel trilogy. If only they had waited for Kenneth Branagh to direct the 2nd film (and wrote a better story), Branagh's Shakespearian background really helped give weight to the father/son relationship and sibling rivalry and his tilted camera angles were a nod to comic book frames. @@justachaoticperson1906 agreed. The first Iron Man was great, but the other 2 were terrible. The Thor movies may not have been top tier, but none of them were as bad and Iron Man 2 or 3.
To be fair, Odin threw the hammer down to Earth so Thor could lift it again when he becomes worthy. It's a second chance if he works hard enough to become worthy. Right?
Well no. He casted a spell on the hammer so anyone worthy can lift it and gain the powers of Thor and it was done for 2 reasons 1. Thor coming to his senses and lifting it again and 2. Finding someone worthy to succeed Thor
To be fair, he doesn't turn blue because he's angry. He turns blue due to his proximity to the Casket of Ancient Winters, which (according to Odin) is the source of the Frost Giant's powers. It's most likely that Loki being that close to it strengthened his Frost Giant powers enough to show through.
Does Loki ever turn blue again in the following movies? Or does the fact of him being an ice giant becomes relevant again (other than that joke about him being adopted in Avengers)? Does he have ice giant powers? I've long seen any of the movies so I don't really remember any of that.
In IW he owns up to odins plan and calls himself odinson, prince of asgard and king of jotunheim, even looking at Thor as he promised undying fidelity.

@Ahnaf Atif Also,in a video called “The Life of Loki:A Tribute to the God of Mischief” 17:00 apparently Loki told frigga that she wasn’t his real mother, which is false, because Loki is both raised by Frigga and biologically Frigga’s son.
This one is kind of flawed. Loki turned blue always when exposed to a frost giant or frost giant artifact, and destroying the bridge was to make the bifrost fall away from Jotenheim, not to destroy the bridge, so nothing was undercut. It makes sense that they would replace it. If only they knew.
