You can’t even enjoy colored pencils these days without someone getting offended. Funny enough I bought this set and the Scorpion and Cobra to have fun with adult colouring books. And also use them for details and shading for the watercolour paintings I want to do. I get pretty anxious and I cry a lot so I got these to help relax. I didn’t even know these pencils were made with people with mental illnesses in mind. I can’t wait to try them when I get them tomorrow😸 Also how dare people nit pick and get upset over names when the core of these sets is meant to help people

Thanks so much for doing such a thorough job explaining the history of these pencils! I am off and on an Artist, now that I've retired I am focusing much more on Art. While I was working I put together a traveling Art show that was composed of the Art of folks living with mental illness. I encouraged people with mental illness to express themselves through various art mediums including writing. For three years I facilitated these shows in Southern Oregon and it was an amazing experience for everyone involved. We showed some outstanding Art that may never have been shown to the public otherwise. The Artists loved it and the general public loved it. I bring this up here because it occurred to me that this company could do something similar if it is not already involved it doing Shows. The mission of these pencils from the beginning has been to help folks focus themselves with ART and reduce the symptoms of their illnesses.
Looking forward to these pencils. Love your videos, honest and informative. I have watched all your BW videos, and was really pleased to hear Wally formed this company to sooth mental health issues. I started coloring after my best friend of 28 years died of Melanoma. I just needed an out and have been coloring ever since.. My first set of pencils was Colore. I have since become a pencil enthusiast. Thanks for your great videos.

I am so glad I came upon your channel. I subscribed. First, My granddaughter and I will be praying for your Dad and your daughter everyday. I am happy to hear your Dad is doing better but we will be praying for him each day for continued sucess in his recovery. I don't know what your sweet daughter is going through but God does and we will be lifting her up in prayer daily. I believe in the power of prayer. 😊🙏 I did not know that Wally created this line of pencils to benefit those battling mental illnesses. God bless him. My daughter battles with hers and my granddaughter lives with me, she is 11 and struggles with severe OCD and a secondary anxiety disorder and can't take meds. She has colored in Adult coloring books for several years. She colors beautifully. These are gorgeous colors. Love the pastels. I enjoyed your video and learned quite a lot. Thank you so much. 😊
These colors are beautiful and I haven't ever seen a nicer box! These would be fun to have. You probably don't remember but a few months ago we chatted briefly about some Arteza pencils. I splurged and got the 120 set of watercolor pencils, 72 colored pencils, and a cheap tray of 36 dry watercolors to use for backgrounds. They are wonderful! Having matching wax pencils and water pencils creates some amazing special effects. Customer service was a bit unprofessional but the quality is impeccable, especially considering the price. Thanks so much for that!
Wow - I do like the muted and pastel colors. Nature has a lot of muted and pastel shades. So happy your father and Amelia are going better. I will continue keeping all of you in my 🙏 prayers.
Thank you for the background into Black Widow pencils. It is good to know that people are helping other people in need. Coloring is soothing and intuitive, if you want to color a tree blue, do it! Black Widow Monarch pencils have regular colors and some that just speak out. I have not been able to get this set yet but I do have the Spider set. Love the color names so cute, some funny, etc. Thanks

These pencils are beautiful! I’m so glad to see he’s filling in the edges of the range with many of these pastels and natural greens! Thank you so much for explaining the rationale behind the naming. Please tell your daughter from me that life gets SO MUCH BETTER. If you can find or two true good friends, focus on those relationships and try your best not to worry about the rest of folks. I was bullied a lot in school, and while it got a little better in secondary, it was soo much better in college and beyond. “Enjoy what you can of the now, and get through the rest”, is the advice I give to anyone suffering a hard time.
I don’t think the maker of these pencils realized how much people were going to like them in the art community… And now that there is a demand, I was told when I contacted MediHealth, That they were actually planning on including Light fast information as soon as they could make it available. Now, whether or not that means they are going to be museum quality light fast, remains to be seen. ButApparently they will at least be including the ratings. It's the first time I hear about these pencils. The other sets are quite intriguing, because such a delicate thing like a colour pencil is related with dangerous animals. Surely, there are more misteries behind those sets.

Excited to try this set out. I have all the others, the cobra, the spider, the scorpion and the skintones. This set will round out the other sets I have. The colors are very pastelly and reminds me of the colors in the amazing Holbein set. I own that one too and the colors are supposed to be highly lightfast, so will be fun to compare these from the monarch set. I think the irojiten book volume sets have some of these colors too. Hello Harry, I am relatively new to your channel and have really enjoyed the videos I have seen so far. I have only started my art journey recently and discovered the Black Widow pencils a few weeks ago and I love them. I mix them up with other pencils and they work well together with more expensive and cheaper brands. So this set will indeed work well alongside other sets people might have.All the best to your Father and daughter at a challenging time in their lives. So many beautiful pastel colours, they're gorgeous. Colouring has become one of my legs of stability once I got diagnosed with my stupid immune disorder. It lets me escape into a 'better' place heh. I would love to try out these lovely pencils, and see if they are as beautiful in person as you have them presented them.
Yeah, I'm kinda sick of most pencil colors sticking to primary ish colors. These pencils remind me of Ironlak's color palette and branding - which is great. The colors are lovely.

Thanks for your reviews. I have the other Black Widow sets. Lovely colours, nice and creamy pencils. I use them in sketchbooks. For serious artwork I use artist grade pencils, but if lightfastness is not an issue these are great.

These are the most beautiful pencils, they have a strong pigment and lay down color beautifully. They have quickly become my favorite pencils.

It's a very famous painting of The Monarch of The Glen - a Scottish red deer stag.

Thanks for your reviews. I have the other Black Widow sets. Lovely colours, nice and creamy pencils. I use them in sketchbooks. For serious artwork I use artist grade pencils, but if lightfastness is not an issue these are great.
