True buddy... Especially for himalayans... They are not competent enough to do basic servicing to the customer satisfaction forget doing the troubleshooting...
My prospective@RE should take care with special treatment for the new customer..!!

+1 to that. I have always liked Himalayan as a concept and was utterly disgusted and disappointed with the quality issues that it had. Almost came back from having decided on buying it, never wanting to even consider any enfield again. And then they come up with this! Very tempting!
Now you put this engine in the Himalayan and upgrade the quality (like what's been touted here) and the Indian market will nearly close for most of the ADVs, including the versys 650.
it will come soon.. nd I'm also waiting for that beast..or else i would go with an upgraded GT next year

At first I was in ❤ with the design of Interceptor 650 but then the Continental GT steals the eyes away with its seating posture,fuel tank and the handlebars but then my subconscious mind reminds me of going back to cherishing the look of the Interceptor.I am stuffed between the two.

It comes down to the design of the chassis.
Cuz they are following the idea of "don't fix something if it ain't broken". The old models sell like hot cakes. And not sure,but I feel like people buy them specifically for the hellish experience it provides. All Enfields xcept for the Himalaya and the new twins and junk on wheels,and that's why purists buy them
The kind of engine they have... Will vibrate... Due to long stroke smaller bore.... This engine design is more for sound and torque...

Interceptor is much better proposition compared with conti since it is more practical and has more scope for customisation as well..❤️
Learn HD learn from RE how to design practical sitting ergonomics for motorcycle. Last time I burned my knee while taking test ride HD Street 750 . Thanks to RE knee is not touching to engine and extra protection also provide.

it really sounds like triumph .. i must surprise to heard the sound as i thought the engine will bit similar like other royal enfield models .but its not...and the results are here as best of new twine 650

It should be bulletproof, its such a low output for the engine size that its not under any stress at all. Just service it at home and you're laughing.

after watching all the reviews i think i am going to take the jump and exchange my duke ,
so far really impressed with what i seen and the fact that this is a first from any indian company (twin cylinder) it urges the inner indian in me to take this leap of faith !

Now I comes to know that why Siddharth Lal shifted to UK 2 years before with his family, his hard work pays now, both these 650 twins are developed in UK under the eagle eye of some of world's best auto expert, beleive me whover love long rides, himalayas and national highways of India should own this Interceptor, no compare of this bike with Dominor, even it is far much better than Duke 390, BMW 310 R, Versey 650, Kawasaki ZX650, I love this machine booked one today itself

Both are not suited for office commuting. But yes, Interceptor will have a relaxed riding position but the GT would be bit Aggressive.

Silencers are really long set and Seats look skinny for long cruises .Need to see some exciting colors rather than these drab paint jobs. Like Triumph ,RE need to offer some Vans & Hines exhaust for that twin engine Aural Boost for the ears .

Just 'wow!'...that exhaust note!!! if its priced around 3L....SOUNDS A WARNING BELL..for the competition...adding a 'lil extra wt' to the front end can solve that 'light weighted' feel above 120, either by fitting lil wider tyre up front, more rubber, higher road surface contact and lil extra wt, and wt of the the bar end 'weights' can be increased to negate the lighter feel above 120...over all a fantastic packgae in the duo...RE this time u deserves a standing ovation from the Indian enthusiastic bikers...
A huge leap for indian motorcycle industry. Its about time we move away from single pot engines. Cant wait for the day when TVS and Bajaj will manufacture 3, 4 cyl supersports and tourers

An on road price less than 3.75 lakh, a thorough training to all the RE service center bimbos or a dedicated one which would work even better less spares downtime, then folks let me tell you this will set new standards and records. Hopefully!
I still can’t trust about the ride quality, at least an year after only I even think to get one of them as I had many bad riding experiences from previous RE models which company couldn’t even solve

My friend got rid of his Bullet and bought a Kawasaki instead. He should have waited for the interceptor instead. The continental discomfort is noted :)

Understanding that these will take several months until they get to Europe, do you guys recommend I go for a used Triumph Bonneville with low milleage, enjoy it and then consider a new RE twin when it finally hits the market, get proper feedback and updates? What would you do? I need a bike now and there's a second hand 5k kms I can get for €6k right now! thanks for your advice.

This is the information I got from Royal Enfield directly, from an employee, on an exchange of messages in linked in (edited to only show the necessary and important info: "Following the US launch, we are launching the 650 Twins in a phased manner across the world. The next market is India and this would be followed by more markets across the world. (...) we shall be announcing the price and retail availaibilty for Europian regions at EICMA (Milan, Italy) on November 6th."
So now I know India will be before Europe, so I can expect another 6 months to 1 year.... I will buy a Triumph instead.

Autocar...what are following specs on the RE Interceptor 650:
Tank capacity, seat height and width (I am 5.6 with inseam 28 inches, will I flat foot when seated?), kerb weight, ground clearance (I currently ride a Kawasaki Vulcan S 650, ground clearance 13 cm...real pain on Bombay roads...but low seat allows flat footing).
Not interested in Continental..but do share the same specs.
Clearance of 16 cm or more with low seat height will make it a total winner in India. Thanks.
The tyres seem too narrow for a motorbike with this much capability. Will upgrading to the wider tyres affect the handling, fuel efficiency, performance, or engine adversely ?

I would like to add one to my garage, the problem facing RE in the states is their lack of dealerships, so where do you buy one from or get service, the bike with slip on’s sounds better then the T100 or the T120 , I would have preferred p shooter exhaust, I just don’t like the exhaust going up high, other then that I think the bike looks great, I also believe that once people in the states see the bikes they will sell which in turn will make more dealerships. I believe this in turn will actually lead the company to greatly improve the production of the bullet and classic, let’s face it those bikes look great, how about a simple counter balancer would help dramatically, good luck RE, and get more dealerships in the states especially in California!!!
a 650 cc twin cylinder bike has come with only 130 size rear wheel . what ugly look from the back. they might hv upgraded 150 rear tyre size and front wheel 110.
even a 150cc honda hornet has 140 rear tyre size .

Ive heard many people grumbling about reliability especially with the Himalayan,but all the long term testing has shown this not to be true.If you like this style of bike expect to use the spanners,its all part of being a real biker.I think its a gorgeous bike,Enfield are definitely going down the right road.

It’s a really good bike , after my test ride I could tell Royal Enfield has done a really good job. Nice product , value for money. Alloys and tubeless tyres would have been better.
I like Interceptor more than Continental GT, because of its posture.
Not a fan of cafe racers, but both bikes have a great performance.

Everything else is good, but looks like that you need a better, a little broader seat in interceptor for long rides which will make it more practical
Every new bike gets positive reviews only lets see wat people say wen it comes to our market.. Regarding new bikes always wait and watch before the leap.

Himalayan has a good chassis? Harris chassis messed it up big time. Just check the user reviews, you will know.
