Sounds like a welcomed set for my sensitive ears... Worth noting: what you describe as 'limitations' or 'issues' in the top end is actually a welcomed beacon of light for those of us with ultra sensitive ears that find 90% of IEMs to be unfathomably boosted in the 5K>above region. I cannot stand unnaturally boosted 'sparkle' and 'shimmer' because it comes across as piercing, shrieking digital noise/sibilant distortion to my ears... Being a life-long, classically trained musician, I hear these upper frequencies just fine - I don't want/need them boosted within my music just for the sake of 'extension' ! It's NOT a 'limitation', 'issue' or a negative demerit/concern when an IEM relaxes those (harsh) frequencies !
i usually agree but it also depends on the iem bcs sometimes i need that boosted upper range if its like a low mid heavy iem or headphone just helps cancel things out for me
I just got this one yesterday, and it a great set. It is tuned a bit differently, with the treble is tuned down, and it has a shallow pinna. I thought the case, cable and accessories were more like gear at the $200 price point. This one won't make everyone happy, but folks that want a darker or more relaxed tuning, will be very happy. It might be in my top 5 right now, but mostly because the tuning isn't like the others.
@@ValerieFire I really enjoy the bass on it, for classic rock and early metal. I don't have much experience with electronic music, so I don't really know that tuning priorities are. The most common complaint with these is that they are too dark at lower volumes.
im between these and the Pula PA02, while I think id like the warmness and mid bass of the explorers, but I think id also enjoy the higher end sound and airyness off the PA02's. Im coming from other budget iems such as the Simgot EM6L, and the Moondrop Chu II's. Love the vids and the b-roll, keep up the awesome vids!
Even if frequency graphs may not be your thing, I'd still like to see someone's measurements even for a few seconds. I find it helps contextualize your comments about the sound. Even if you don't speak to it, it'd be useful. Great video!
Hi Dave. Nice review! You mentioned that you prefer the Explorer's bass over the Delci's bass. That is really saying something since the technical performance of the Delci's bass is really good. Other reviewers mentioned that the Explorer scales nicely with more power and balanced cables. I noticed that your Explorer's cable has a 4.4mm balanced connector.
Yep, 4.4. I had a little bit of a brain fart there. As for the bass, just my preference really, it ultimately came down to quantity. The Delcis bass is also very good for the price, but the bass levels throw it off balance imo. I should clarify I don't think the explorer is completely balanced either, just a little more balanced than the Delci. The Delci also has a little more mid bass and warmth than the Explorer, which is fine in isolation but compared directly to the Explorer, the Explorers transition out of the bass into the low mids seems to be a little cleaner. Again, it's really just a preference thing and I really do feel like they are both expectational budget sets! Thanks for watching! it's always great to see your comments!
Hey Dave would you ever consider making an IEM tier list? Since you get the chance to review so many IEM's a tier list would be awesome and good for reference when you make these videos.
How do they compare to a midrange iem like blessing 2 dusk? I had to get rid of those because they were to large. I like how these look and how small the housings are.
Hello to you from Ukraine. I love your reviews. Very professional and beautifully done. It's like watching a documentary film =) The background music is great.
I'm coming from a 7Hz Salnotes Zero. I'm looking for an IEM around this price point($100~) with a sub bass focus and textured bass with overall better technical performance and more detail compared to my 7Hz Salnotes Zero. My main genres are EDM and Pop. Do you have recommendations that fit the bill?
Yo!!! Been watching all your videos lately and you are definitely one of my new favorites. Just getting into IEMs Currently have the Truthear Reds with the SuperMix 4 on the way! Also have the Fiio K5 pro ess and dawn pro coming soon. Currently looking at the Explorer $120, Galileo $75, CKLVX $130, kefine Delci $57, magic one $97, performer 5 $175, Chopin $170. Possibly the davinci but don’t wanna drop that much at the moment. Also thinking about grabbing the Aful Snowynight or muse MK ii but not sure if it’s worth it if I have the dawn pro on the way. The SuperMix i bought mainly for gaming. I would like a set that’s really good for rap/hip hop mostly. I love bass when listening to music. Any suggestions would be great.
@@ValerieFire maybe yes. The sound is really “relaxed in general”, and as enough emphasis and texture in all the bass area, the mid range and treble feels a little relaxed in volume, but has enough information, air and details. I really feel this Iem as one that everyone should give a try. For me it’s a solid recommendation (I use it for heavy metal music, and synthwave music. I really enjoy it. If you want something bassy but detailed without any kind of harshness in the mids and trebles; this one you gonna love it. Cheers!
@@ValerieFire I think it’s no “BAAASSSSHEAD” at all (as the hades; but it doesn’t have any kind of details), it feels just in the line to start to being a good basshead Iem.

I totally agree , since most songs boosted upper treble more these days, It makes biased feeling to listen , not organic at all.

Excellent review as always, the Explorer looks right in my wheelhouse. Thank you Dave..!
I'm enjoying these a lot! I also find them very resolving, which is a good thing.

Heck of a season on iems. Thanks for the review. :)

Great for loud volumes. The question. Will the driver will handle loud volumes..
Ordered yesterday when it released. Very very excited for this set, it’s really everything I’ve wanted in an IEM
Is it good for Electronic music amd hip hop? Is the bass textured?
Great video! I'd like to understand better the difference between delci vs. explorer. Which has more bass, tonality, etc...
Thanks for the review. Can you please review the HiBy R4.

Cklvx would be my suggestion in that list. Would be a great addition to your other two.
Thanks Dave for the review. Would you say these are warm or neutral?
He said multiple times in the review that it’s warm.
looking for a new IEM to replace my broken ones. What do you think its better Explorer or PULA PA02? many thanks
So this one, the pula or the performer 5 with the hifigo? Which one would you say wins the price/performance ratio competition?
That's exactly the comparison I'm wondering.
From what I read, it looks to be this one.
Placed the order. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!
Is it good for electronic dance music? Does it have textured bass?
This one vs fiio fh3? I want both but I want to know which one I should buy before hahaha
Which did you get?
I bought the explorer. I’m really happy with it. Y already make a review in Spanish of it.

isn't that a 4.4mm termination?
Yep, my bad. Brain fart! Thanks for watching!
They offer both 4.4 and 3.5 on the store page
Be great to see a graph comparison between Delci and Explorer
Nobody says Aful right lol
