Such easy to follow and understand, I rely on your videos and handouts! I'm commencing Level 4 and you've been with me since the beginning, thank you !!
What a wonderful video, I have just started my journey to being a counsellor. Advise and guidance like this will stand me in good stead. Thank you so much.
I just want to say thanks Rory, I am training to become a counsellor and your podcasts are made super easy to understand. Big posh words can throw me but I absolutely love the way you deliver the podcasts in such a relaxed and easy to understand way.😊
Thank you so much: this series is so helpful to me as I train for a BACP Diploma in Integrative Counselling. The notion that by practicing good boundaries as a therapist sets a helpful example to clients who might not be able in their lives to say 'no' is a powerful one.
Appreciate Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about - Taparton Protect Marriage Takeover (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good exclusive product for saving your marriage without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my GF got excellent results with it.
Both of the power point sessions I watched were,. Very clear, to the point very helpfull. Common sence approach at the same time very proffesional Learned a lot thank you
I've been with my counsellor for over 4yrs now she works for a charity so I don't pay for sessions, she has been ill and I've felt so worried about her, I'm worried about telling her because I don't want her to back off or end our sessions, I haven't rang her or anything like that just my own fears, not been able to sleep because I'm worried about her. Any advice would be great TY
I asked my good friend, who is a plumber, if he would kindly like to fix a plumbing issue I had. He replied- "Sorry buddy, for _obvious_ reasons I can't do that for you. However, I'm a member of a guild of numerous other _unrelated_ plumbers who would be happy to oblige". We chuckled together over a beer and marveled at the perculiar notion that _KNOWLEDGE_ ceases to work when your bestie is requested to do it. What strange and wonderful world we all inhabit...
It does not mean you cannot offer a friend emotional support, however, you can not counsel them. In my experience asking a plumber friend to do some work for you is a recipe for disaster
@@Counsellingtutor1Could you please elaborate. I'm confused as to why/how knowledge hemorrhages efficacy as you increase familiarity between the knowledge giver and the knowledge giver?
Great info-clear and practical-def not death by Ppoint. Thanks a lot for sharing. Can you direct me toward guidance about rupture in supervisor/supervisee relationship at all? I am the supervisee and was dumped by my supervisor unceremonially-ouch! Many thanks, Becky
Hi Rory! Just want to say thank you for this! Really helpful, I was wondering if you had some material on enmeshed boundaries. I am struggling with that concept.
After being with the same therapist since I was a preteen (I'm now working on my BS in Psychology and will be entering graduate school soon, just to show how long it's been), we've become friends and she's almost like a secondary grandma to me. If she's retiring, is it okay to have a close relationship?
As a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialists and Certified Clinical Supervisor this is a much needed topic Professional Code of Ethics and Boundaries.
