Nice oroperty clean up video. It's strange having dump hours 7 to 4 Monday thru Friday. Our closets dump isn't even open on Saturday. As a kid I remember the dump being open 7 to 6PM Monday thru Saturday. People would stack furniture in one place, metal in another, and oddly enough things we thought people could use would be put off on the side. This way if someone wanted wood or glass, or something they could take it to make something out of it. When living in Michigan the bear would visit the dump for food. Peoe used to sit next to a bear to have their picture taken. Now you pull up to a garbage compactor, and your trash is shoved into it by a piece of construction equipment.

When saving cardboard for the garden you should only save plain brown so that there's no dyes going into your ground. We only save large pieces that have been flattened down and any tape and staples have been removed so everything is ready for garden day.

Also, I love dump runs. I love the truck being weighed going in and coming out. And all the gigantic colored glass troughs divided by color. Its a whole spectacle. I lived on Vashon Island off Puget Sound here is Washington. A no-bridge island. Commuting to work by Ferry. Going anywhere, anytime by Ferry. There was a movie rental shop, and about 3 cafe/restaurants and 2 grocery stores. All the socializing was done in the grocery stores and the dump. Shopping for food took a long time usually cuz that is where you ran into your friends and it was time to chat. Same with the dump. On the weekends waiting in line at the dump, people got out of their cars and started socializing right then and there. Shooting the breeze at the dump. It is a thing in some places.

Back in England the local dumps had bins for various items and my Dad would look through all that to see what he could use. It was amazing what people threw out in the way of clothes and shoes so he would bring those home and share with friends. He also used to take away anything that he thought might be useful for his garden architecture, like old sinks, wire bread racks from the bakery, wheelbarrows and such and anything else that he could upcycle. He hated seeing things like that at the dump. Friends would ask if by any chance he had such and such and most often he did, saving them loads of money. The dump also had a "shop" where they sold items to good to put in the dump or give away.
After seeing Mike at the Fit Farmer use his original weed burner I bought myself a smaller version than yours and it worked well on the weeds and grass between my flagstones and river stones. However, I did find that the grassy bits came back again. Not happy about that but it's fun to use and I call it my Flame Thrower. Be sure to always have a hose nearby just in case.

When we lived in upstate NY there was no garbage pickup. Saturday mornings everyone went to the dump. It is where you got to meet all the neighbors. My husband would take the kids and be gone for like two hours. Seems the men would have their social hour, get caught up with what everyone was doing, who needed help, town doings, etc. There had been two small housing developments put in so there were lots of new people. My girlfriend commented that it wasn't fair that they got to meet everyone before we did. It was also where you got first pick on what someone was getting rid of. He came home with some amazing things. I started to go with them once in a while just for the fun of it. I miss those days.
The baby is getting so big and what a cutie. I hope she gets through teething easily so you can get some sleep and get out in the garden. She might like being strapped to your back while you work in the garden or set up a pack and play for her. It works for some kids but not all.

I was never one to have a purse collection. In the fall, I'd buy a basic black or brown purse, use it through the winter until April. Then toss it and buy a light color purse for spring/summer. Never spent more than $15. If either were still in decent shape, I'd hold onto them for another year. Even more frugal on wallets. I'd find a good, functional design and hold use it until it was falling apart (a few years at least.)
Nowadays, I don't carry a purse, just a black clutch style wallet.

Your gonna laugh at this. But that old toilet would make a cute flower pot! My best friend has one on her patio. Lol. I used to love to go on runs to the dump with my dad and uncle when I was little! Those were some of my many, many childhood memories! ❤️

Now you have an idea for datenight, outing at the dump.
Even today i love going to the dump with my dad. Grandpa passed away 2 years ago, but i went to the dump with him too. Always the best fun and most interesting stories of what you can make out of old stuff that normaly gets thrown away.

I always enjoyed going to the dump. Sometimes, depending on their rules, you can get stuff that's good for free or cheap!

I laughed so hard that when you checked with mom on whether all the boys could to go to the dump, mom thought it sounded do much fun, she wanted to come too. Where I live, there's a group of grown men who meet up at the dump every Saturday morning and hang out together after they dump their trash. I think they encouarge each other to bring home things they find that other people are dumping that they think will be useful.

That propane torch is also great to lightly burn wood for some interesting patterns on homemade furniture.

We have a recycle center. than comes by every Friday to pick up our trash, but there are SO many rules about how to throw it away and what you can throw away and then you have to worry about critters getting into it and it's just a hassle. So we opted out of setting our trash out every Friday and instead we "store" it for a couple weeks and then load it up in our truck and haul it in ourselves. It actually costs less to haul in a truck load than it does to sign up for them to pick it up too.

The Husband and I chuckled at the fire comment of it being to cold. We often have winter fires in full winter gear with lots of snow around.

I grew up on a farm and one of my favourite things was going to the dump with my Dad. We didn’t scavenge or anything. It just was my siblings didn’t come so I had one on one with my Dad. He even called me Keeper of the Dump! I don’t know why. Wonderful memories.

Nothing wrong going to the dump, matter of fact I found a wonderful wicker chairs and table someone decided they didn't want and I got it for free. Not to mention the books still in the box, kids bikes with just a dent, outdoor welcome mats etc. It amazes me that the box stores don't donate these items what a waste.
Always nice to have extra hands makes the job go faster.
    Blessings to all. 😊🇺🇸

I loved going to metal dump with my dad. All the big machines. And then getting money for what we brought there. Magical! In fact I still love it. I'm now 28.😋
    I have to admit something....
Every video I watch. I re-watch it too also, when i have go to sleep early( for my job). Or when ever my mind won't stop running. Al your voices are so nice to hear and I always fall right away to sleep hearing you talk and doing stuff.
So its a little weird maybe. But I had to tell you.🙈 I think it wouldn't hurt you numbers.
