It looks great. I enjoyed seeing it in person last week. Good going on sealing the leak for the whistle. Great job.

That was way more elegant than just bonking the ball to create a seat, I’m going to use this lapping from now on I think it’s a big step up from just good enough. Again, love your content.

Thanks so much! I agree, much better solution for lapping a seat! I appreciate your feedback! Bill.

Great to see Titch running 😀 did you anneal the ball before drilling ? Great tip Bill I’ll remember that next time I get a leaking clack.

Thanks, Julia! No, I just put the 5/32” stainless ball in the 5/32” - 5C collet, then used a #0 center drill, followed by a few smaller “wire gauge “ drill bits up to the 3/32” drill, about 50 thousandths deep. Then cleaned it all carefully and used green Locktite to hold it together. Made a good and useful tool!

@ thanks Bill I’ve tried loctiting a ball to a counter sunk brass rod but it wasn’t very secure. I’ll try your approach, 5/32” ball is a very common size for fittings so will be a very useful tool. 😀
